The good thing about last season was Wilshere.
The good thing about this season has been Arteta.
Although we've done slightly better this season than last if we had suffered an injury to RVP then I think we'd be below Chelsea.
The return of Henry was immense so probably this season edges it, but the thought of doing it all again next season isn't that exciting at the moment (i.e. I can't see us winning anything again).
You are right. That didnt prevent us to take the 3th place. One better than last season.
Last season was a million times worse for me, I felt had we won the carling cup, we would have had the league and maybe even the F.A cup to boot. We had an excellent side last year, but we completely collapsed at the slightest hint of pressure or criticism. Deeply upsetting.
I think we should be seriously delighted with 3rd. Considering the unbelievably poor start we made. The debacle surrounding Nasri and Fabregas was a hammerblow and one that could and no doubt should have been avoided. I think the clube, Wenger and Gazidis are more than aware that a scenario like that simply cannot happen again...
It's worth also baring in mind, as exciting a season as this HAS been, the quality, certainly at the top end of the table is no where near that of previous seasons.
As a Gooner, and under pretty extreme circumstances, 3rd place is brilliant in my books.
I was quite satisfying to reel in a 10 point gap on Spurs and then finish above them!
We should be delighted with 3rd indeed. However we should not be delighted at the prospect of being delighted with 3rd again next season
