Torres over Sturridge an day of the week, might not score but is less selfish and more likely to provide an assist.

Sturridge needs to take a long hard look at himself.

Our lack of decent options at right midfield is not good.

We can always play Josh, he is registered you know.

Well playing torres on the right might be a win-win situation when you consider that:
Torres cant defend
Bosingwa cant attack
So bosingwa stays back at all times and torres rarely will need to track back

I'm fine with Torres on the wing if he switches positions with Drogba when we don't have the ball. Same with Sturridge.

Good point.

Also playing Torres on the wing will give him some freedom to drift inside and get himself into goalscoring positions when all the Bayern defenders will be more occupied with marking Drogba.

Torres on the wing is absolutely terrifying and I cannot fathom why people keep suggesting it. It's complete suicide. You only have to look back to the Barca match, when we were defending for our lives to see just how interested he was in doing the job he was allocated with.

This was mentioned on another post last week and is my favourite formation to accommodate both Drogs and Torres.

And for those of you complaining about Drogba playing in the hole, he done this for the last twenty five minutes against Napoli when we were chasing the game.

I said some time ago this should be his position, he's quick & can cross a ball

Less likely to freeze in front of goal too - although he's improved of late in that dept

@Gazza - Why can we not change formation or move Mata to accomodate Torres? Mata spent the first half of the season out on the left wing, it's not as if it's going to be an unusual position for him.

Good shout, I quite like this suggestion. Bosingwa would be able to drop back and help out Ferriera against Ribery.

Only thing is that we haven´t seen much of Bosingwa at right wing despite quite a few of us suggesting it over the years.

Having said that Bosingwa seems to excel in every position but his own so he´d probably have stormer at right wing.
