Liverpool finished a couple of points off 4th the season before last.
Therefore, we should have been in with a shout last year.
Then Kenny spent way more than the competition and actually fell further behind.
The owners had a tough decision and I think it was probably the right one as the team were performing awful and the rest of the Prem were taking points off us like candy from a baby
Even if we had finished fourth we would not have qualified for the Champions League. A bit of knee jerking from FSG imo. Do these guys know what they are doing? Who is advising them?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
We have to trust the owners, they are businessmen and look at cold, hard facts. They have no emotional attachment to Liverpool's past, therefore the fact that King Kenny was a legend will not have been a mitigating factor in their decision.
What it does mean though is that they are taking a big risk. If we finish fifth next season and win nothing, but the manager retains his job, then there will be some questions asked because people will rightly say "Kenny was sacked for not finishing in the top four and he won something."
I'll back whoever the manager is 100%. But in all honesty, I am not expecting a new manager to take charge and instantly bring us a top four finish. And that is the reason I am surprised Kenny wasn't given another year to build on the foundations he set.
listen boys ....
WE WERE NEARLY 40 POINTS OFF CITY/UNITED
things had to change.....
kenny isnt bitter..hes wished us well and gave us a trophy...
onwards we march
Kenny broke the sugar daddies monopoly by spending £110million to win the runt cup

To be fair, we had to sell off our main assett to fund half of that
Kenny broke the sugar daddies monopoly by spending £110million to win the runt cup

We net spend less than City and only spent £7m more than Chelsea and Utd.
You can keep shouting £110m but it's an irrelevent figure seeing as we recouped over two thirds of that through selling off half our squad.
And I got to go to Wembley to watch us win a trophy. Did you make the trip down from Rhyl in 1995?
>>Then Kenny spent way more than the competition
lies
Of course they know what they're doing. They've brought millions into the club, got debt repayments down from £18m to £3m, written off a £35m stadium plan from the previous idiots and spent £120m on transfers. They also sacked a club legend who failed as a manager, against the wishes of many.
Everything they've done so far, has been good, in my opinion.

It's not though, Liverpool weren't competing with City or Man U, they were competing with Aresnal, Tottenham, Newcastle and Everton, and spent far more than any of them. Chelsea were the other big spender to do poorly in the league but I think that the CL will dry their eyes over that.
