what annoys me is that people call him great just because he has been dominating the tour every year for three months Apr-May-June.

Gasquet is real failure. I just can't believe anyone could actually lose from where he was in the match. He chose just the worst possible times to get double faults. When facing set points on set-2 and the beginning of the 3rd set again on when facing a BP and then again when A-40 struggling to hold serve on the 4th, then the sudden double fault. He is so poor when reading the play, when the whole court is empty opponent thrown wide on one side of the court..and all he has to do is get the ball in on the other side, yet he somehow manages to hit it straight to the opponent. That is remarkable that a pro can be so dumb and time and time again. Murray kept playing drop-shot after drop shot, same old again n again, yet Gastquet could do no better than stand 4m behind returning mid court balls to be hit. So poor in tactics. But actually he just poor a player. If he could come in and dictate play, he would already been doing it. He doesn't do, it only means he can't. That much talked backhand will keep flowing long if he plays it from inside the baseline. He picks the ball so late because he just can't do it earlier, and then its never a effcetive shot with that little power. They all fall mid court to be smashed. He is a total failure. His skill as a player is highly overrated.

Murray played well to crush Gasquet. Such players should be crushed.

Looks like I did not miss much today. Nadal seems in frightening form. But he is having it easy with faithless players.

Gasquet collapsing as usual and Murray consistency doing the work as expected.

Problem is Ferrer and Murray will kill each other in that 1/4F while Nadal will just hammer Nico's BH until he falls asleep.

I am not sure I will be supporting Federer from now on. I am not sure what he can bring to the later stage of this tournament. I want players with firepower....or I want Djoko to ease through easy as well to the final cause he will need all his energy to stop Rafa.

Not sure Rafa is stoppable with those balls. Last year players coudl hit winners but those new Babolat are a joke.

yes its a bit dull on the days when this half of the draw has been playing. Very few comments, nothing much to talk.

Djokovic isn't doing any good. Seppi should have taken him out. He survived but if he gets to meet Nadal, I won't be expecting anything different than what happened in Rome and MC this year. Djo has given a lifeline to Nadal, he loosened his grip.. Nadal's intensity feeds on such lapses. It will again take a while for Djo to get a grip on Nadal. Untill then Nadal will be winning their duels.

Yes but we cannot underestimate Djoko's resilience. He knows Nadal is always for the taking. Especially if he can tire him a bit, then he suddenly can turn easy prey.

Djoko has to make sure Nadal does his share of the running....and hopefully not lose many sets from now till the final.

I want Murray to win Ferrer cause I am not sure Ferrer can handle the occasion once again.

I don;t see their thread cause the author is probably filtered. SO don;t worry about it. They may even have started one against me but can't see it.

Tomorrow I am going to be very relaxed about who wins who loses.

Actually no. I did not realise mens were playing tomorrow. Is that the first year? I thought it was the ladies day tomorrow...or is this is Wimbledon and not at teh French?

It's really annoying to schedule Federer v Delpo on Lenglen! Federer must be furious!

====================================
That's how i feel too. I do not mind Delpo to beat Fed anyway.
BTW T, it seems the Parisiens are bored to death, empty seats, silence during the matches, ect. Did the predictability of this edition took away their appetite for tennis?

Interesting scheduling with Federer-Del Potro on Lenglen at the same time as Djokovic-Tsonga on centre. Seems odd at first but obviously the orgnanisers wanted an enjoyable mix of men's, women's and doubles on each court.

Really? I did not know that. I wonder whether the financial situation is finally affecting more people than thought....or as you say it might be the predictability that is killing the game.

Those teddy bear balls are really killing the fun compared to last year. It looks like players can't hit winners....unless they play a crazy, risky game a la Goffin.

Even Raonic's shots looked tamed in comparison. I am hoping Wimbledon will have faster balls...but I seriously doubt. We shoudl receive the 2012 balls any day at our club and will be able to compare them with last year.

A bit of gossip here. I have been trying to reach my son for the whole afternoon in vain, but my wife just told me he is in Hyde park with Yannick Noah apparently. How funny is that? I did mention he was a good friend of Y's daughters.

Good to see Andy slipping under the radar and doing the job quietly. He is still in there and still a threat to nadull. I was shocked to see as Monaco kept feeding nadull on his forehand. If you know that you are getting routes then why not to follow a game plan and pepper nadull's backhand?
