Rodgers first time in any european comp. I think he'll play more than the kids

Forgot about that Chameleon I think He'll have orders from FSG on what to focus on...

Would you take a EL win to a top 4 place ?

TCP, No

Top 4 and Europa for me.

Main objectives for next season.

League Cup and FA Cup should be taken seriously only if we reach the quarters.

Agree with Leiva

Have you kept Steve Clarke ?

TCP,

God knows

The club should keep us more informed, apparently he had a resignation rejected

You're only a fan. You don't matter £££££

Clarke is still on the books....for now.

His resignation was rejected by the club when Kenny left.
He was told to wait, to see who the new manager was.

After that we all blank. There havent been any rumours stating whether he and B-Rod have met

The funny thing is, I don't ever actually recall a Liverpool fan saying next year will be our year, ever. It is just something that rival fans say we always say.

Clarke was above Rodgers at Chelsea. Would he like this ?

Makar,

Exactly

You should direct that question to Clarke

None of us here will ever know

We'll know if he walks

TCP,

love to win the Europa but we need top 4 for revenue to attract the players we need to move forward as most of them want CL football to get better wage demands.

To be within 10 points of 4th would be nice. Really I think we should be trying to be within 6 points of 4th for a first season in that direction. The other competitions apparently do not relate to a season of success it's all about the league position... I'm pretty sure FSG wouldn't care if we got knocked out of the FA and Carling Cups first round. I'd like to see a good run or a win in the Europa League though. I think they will expect something there. So top 6 and Semi's of the Europa League minimum is what I'd like to see and whatever happens in the other cups happens

Top 4 fight -
I think Chelsea will try harder in the league this term. They were too focused on CL.
Arsenal have to tie down Van Persie or they'll struggle for goals.
Spurs haven't got squad depth.
Newcastle were tremendous last season. Was it a one off ?
I think Liverpool can challenge for top 4

posted on 5/6/12

I suspect there have been times when it has been said, but I don't see it being said any more at LFC than at say arsenal

TCP,

Nice to know there are decent Chelsea fans around

I think any sort of challenge for the top 4 would be great. I think we'll need to be patient though; it's difficult to see Arsenal and Chelsea having the sort of comedy collapses that they had last season, so it'll be hard to even keep pace with them, let alone overhaul them.

I certainly think that, with the sort of drastic change in style of football that the manager is looking to implement, this could be a dreaded transitional season. I'm not saying that Rodgers should be given carte blanche to have an awful season, but I think that with the metamorphosis he'll be attempting to oversee, it may be slightly counter-productive to be casting glances at other teams when gauging our own progression.

As long as the results are pretty respectable and there are real signs that Rodgers' vision looks like it's taking hold, I'll be pretty happy. We were a tactical mess last season, very rudderless at times, so I'm quite happy to give Rodgers time. He has spelled out exactly how he wants his team to play and I love it, so I'm willing to give him time to implement those ideas if it means he can realise it at our club.
