Bring him on, seriously 6 million is no big deal for a payer of this quality. We will not achieved much without this sort of player.

What I would say is that Daily Mirror scoops are renowned for being unreliable and some considered to be just made up!

There is also the fact that it has been confirmed by the Leicester Mercury that we have offered more than 3.5m up front already. I would also be astonished if, under the assumption they did sell him to us and add ons were involved, they wouldn't include one based on promotion.

I think if we do make one more offer it will be an offer slightly better than Mills, with the idea of more press for the fact we have possibly broken our record fee again, and to play up to the narcissism of the player.

If I was Sven, I would just make it simple, here's the £5m cash that is rumoured to be your asking price, no add ons, no sell-on clause. Take it, or leave it and we'll buy someone else and you can risk losing out on millions, even if you do sell him in January; because there is more chance of me purchasing an outfit in sky blue than him signing a new contract for them.

It's just going on to long. you can't beleave what you read in the paper. As others have said 5M take it or leave it. And move on.

I hope we walk away, he may well turn out to be a very good player, but for me, 2 good seasons and a serious knee injury, doesn't mean he's worth £5m. Yes, we have the money, but it doesn't need to be wasted.

Go back to Yakubu, he'd be about half the price in regards to transfer fee, but more in wages. These guys are motivated by money, so motivate him by offering him £2m if we get promoted, with slightly lower wages. Cost us about the same as the Maynard deal.

I say we offer £3.5m + Kermogant and Crnic.

That should swing it.

I'm pretty sure Yakubu won't happen.

If we walk away we're more likely to bring in Ched Evans as an alternative, so I'd hope we don't walk away if I were you.

5 million would be a snip if his goals took us to the promised land!! his value would then double. lets make one last offer and then move on if no luck.

Also, surely if we're willing to spend £5.5m on a star defender, surely we should be paying at least the same for a star striker? No wonder Bristol won't accept.

£5m would be a snip if he fired us to the Premier League.

But more likely £5m would be ridiculous if his knee went again and couldn't play.

Ok, Yakubu has probably slipped through the net, but believe me, there's better options than Maynard.
