So he is not Wylde about staying?
how long has he got left on his current deal?
Sack for the good of Scottish football pi.sh, he looks like he has the potential to be a very good player so I hope he chases the ££££ down south

dont think mcgregor and whitts deals have had an effect tbh.
tho do agree with the bit about agent. Bankers!
bigger and better players than gregg wylde have come and gone from Rangers, if he's not committed to the cause, punt him
He has great potential but like some have said has a long way to go before he is anything like the finished article.
just peeves me. I think the boy wants to stay, going by what ive read in his interviews, but prob his agent is badly advising him.
but prob his agent is badly advising him.

"Here pal, if you just refuse to sign this contract then I can defo get you more money"
Yeah terrible advice.
how was danny wilson a judas?
Hes bringing you in like £5 million quid and he wanted to play for a bigger team.
Its not like liam miller who let his contract run away so that he could walk away from it
Plenty of time to sort this out. It would be great if every player we wanted to stay immediately signed whatever we put in front of them but in the real world this rarely happens.
In any case, using the example of Fabregas and Modric contracts are not any guarantee today.
Wylde will be here next season, if he continues to play well in the first team I am sure the club will realise he is worth more. If he falls away we have dodged a bullit.
I'm more interested in who joins the squad, not potential departures next year.
I'm with the players 100%.
Vlad Weiss (for example) blew hot and cold yet was probably on way more money than the homegrown youths, why is it wrong for them to want the wage and lifestyle of a player they saw and think they are better than?
hector - wyldes is not better than weiss
pearson - wilson refused to sign a new deal, meaning we had to sell him or lose him for nothing. He did the dirty after rangers nurtured his talent.
Davie - money isnt everything. Ask miller, boyd, larsson etc

I agree to an extent, however I think that too many footballers chase the lifestyle before the career these days.
Players like Wylde etc have plenty of time to make their millions. Whilst I acknowledge that it is a short career and they can get injured at any point, realistically players have 15 years to make their money and hardly any retire injured early now in comparison to 30/40 years ago.
Prove yourself at clubs like Rangers and Celtic in Europe every year, play for your country and then get the big move when you are 25 to England or, even better IMO, abroad where you can really coin it and maxmise your potential.
Point is, Weiss is a young player on big bucks, bucks he wouldn't have got if he'd stayed at Bratislava.
Young players need to grab the opportunity if and when they get it, Franny Jeffers the prime example, great prospect as a laddie, made a fortune and never lived up to expectation.
hector, you would argue the opposite of anything i say!
weiss has been at man city since he was a boy btw.

Why did that happent to Jeffers though? Was it as a result of injury or did he make the wrong career choice in going to Arsenal where he did not fit in and stagnated?
Football is like most sports, all about confidence. If a player is happy and feels he is integral to a system he understands then he can flourish. If not they can quickly look pysh, take Torres at Chelsea as an example. Are you telling me that he is not longer a good player??
exactly. Jeffers thought he had made it and his career nosedived. Thats my point. Money isnt everything.
Young players would do well to learn that!
The bottom line is there's no point in Wylde just taking the 1st offer on the table if he thinks he can get more..........it wouldn't make sense.
As for Wilson he was willing to honour his contract, you can say we "nurtured his talent" but we got millions for the effort and if he turned out to be not good enough we'd have been happy to show him the door........clubs don't show loyalty to players, they make decisions in the best interests of the club............why shouldn't players make decisions based on what they think is best for them.
I agree Ibrox! Money's obviously important but if you are on 4k a week at twenty, even if you never got a wage increase before retiring at 32 you would earn £1.4 million before any sponsorships etc.
That's more than 95% of the population will earn in their lifetimes. These guys should maybe be introduced to some of the players who were at Ibrox when Blue Heaven was on and are now in Asda. Ask them if they would sign or not?
I don't argue against everything you say and even if i did so what? thats what debate is about.
Jeffers didn't become a bad player because he got the big bucks, if it was all about the money why would he demean himself by going on-trial with Accrington Stanley?
IMO he just didn't make the grade after an expolsive start as a young player, as its transpired he made the right choices and he's probably set for life. Why shouldn't Ness try and make as much money as possible, he 'might' have peaked last season.
abnor - wilson WAS good enough tho. He could have signed a new deal, stayed at gers another two years then been sold for 8 to 10m. Instead, he went for 2m, POSSIBLY rising to 5m and hes wasted a year of his development by barely playing.
hector - when did he go on trial at stanley?
Were talking about YOUNG players!
Westendger - spot on. If it wasnt for injuries, leading to wylde getting extra game time, we wouldnt have heard of him and you can bet your life he would have signed ANY deal with rangers.

I agree the lad made a bad choice, he would have been better off staying but that doesn't make him a "Judas"
as you put it.
When a player signs a contract all you can ask is he gives 100% and honours the deal, he was willing to do that but he's not obliged to sign a new deal out of loyalty because there's certainly no loyalty at play when the club decides who does and doesn't get offered new deals.
