You owe me a new bag of chips
Agree with the post, but let's get behind the guy, eh? And let's not go judging him on a few friendlies. He'll need time to get the team the way he wants it and I hope we back him, unlike his previous boss. COAVB and COYS!
In all seriousness, I am in the same boat as you.
However, its an exciting time for spurs fans!
I agree with the OP. Great we've got someone in charge with potential. But more interesting will be who's in and out of the door this summer. Not sure whole sale changes are needed, striker (still, after how many years?), Modric? Left back and that's about it for me. I think the playing staff appointments will be critical in showing our ambition.
The guy is a world class manager. His problem came when he went to Chelsea, the kingpins were the same age as him and didnt see him as a boss. The arrogance of the Chelsea old guard combined with Villas Boas lack of experience with big egos did him in!
Remember, he was appointed to Chelsea for a reason.
As long as we get rid of all the over 30s in the squad we'll be fine
Grant Holt staying at Norwich.
That might've been a Harry target
Neutral poster here... I think AVB's a good manager (cant win what he won at Porto without having something about him).
However i have my reservations about his man management skills, Harry had this attribute in bucket loads and the players really took to him, be interesting to see if all the players buy into AVB's philosophies
One thing we'll definitely find out from how he does with us is what massive Terry & Co. really are.. as if any proof is needed.
Oh absolutely guys, like I said, I'm behind him 100%.
I'm just saving my words for when he's done the business rather than expecting matadors and miracles.
I know he's in for the long haul as well.
My point is basically, he doesn't need the pressure.
He needs to see we're more patient than other fans.
I just hope The professor gives him the time he needs.
Agreed OP - at least a full season, preferably two before we judge him. it's interesting how none of our players want to leave because Harry was sacked.. I think most of them can't wait for the AVB era.
If modric tries to force a move again avb wont spare any breath convincing him to stay
I think our season could hinge on the players we get in as much as the manager. We sooooo desperately need a striker it's untrue. If Vertonghen comes in, he needs to hit the ground running, and if Mods does go as expected, we have to prove we can cope. It's interesting times. If anything, if Mods does go, it doesn't hurt having a new manager to get the players playing in a different way, as he used to dictate our pace and play so much
AVB failed with big names and top players
Spurs have neither so they should be fine

I'd be more impressed with your Wumming if you hadn't just repeated what Serial Wumaniser said three hours ago.
