Come on Robert Dee!
I dont see any excuse, isn't it clear that fed was the better player.

posted on 8/7/12

With Fed equalling and eventually surpassing the 286 weeks of Number 1 from Sampras, surely he has claimed the title of GOAT (for now anyway)

As Spurtle said, Murray has surpassed Dinara Safina's number of slam finals without winning one, so is now the undisputed NOAT

Federer is not at his best and is clearly on the decline. Murray is more or less at his peak. This was his chance. It may never happen, especially as new talent emerges. At least they can change the name from
Henman Hill to Mount Murray in honour of yet another British loser.

You sound like the biggest British loser. It is quite surprising to know that Fed was not at his best but he still beat world no. 1 and defending champ.

Do you even understand tennis?

I was thinking on the same lines Tadees if he can't beat a thirty year old with a bad back its poor do really.
I would sit down and have big think about the future

hardwood, you are free to think they way u like to but fed has been no. 3 for quite a number of points more than Murray. He beat world no. 1 comprehensivley and he is still the king of indoors. Murray was always an underdog.

=======================================

TMF, whilst Muzza was the underdog, you must admit Fed of today would've been happered by the Fed of 2004.

JT, honestly I dont think that way. fed was supreme today, he did not make too many errors on back hand side, he came to the net frequently, he volleyed good, he served good.
IMO Murray should had kept on attacking, Murray went in his shell and that led to his downfall.

Just true

So whats your point.

posted on 8/7/12

My point is Fed (whilst still very good) past his peak IMO, but still beat Murray. This puts into perspective the level he is at.

But the good news for Murray is there are no younger players going past him. So he still has a chance for the future.

Murray still has a least 4 years left.

However if Fed stays fit and healthy, so potentially does he!

He was much better today and played so much better then he did in the other GS finals.

But the chasm is still there - and it is a bitter pill to take.

Getting beaten by the beat player ever is no disgrace.

Yes he might not be has good has he was 7 years ago, but he's still better than 99.9% of every player who's ever played and still beat nole a lot easier than he beat Murray

Murray isn't a bottler, just getting beat by players who are better players.

There hasn't been many times when he's been beaten in a slam by a player who's not has good has him.

Just been unlucky that there are three of the greatest players ever around at the same time

Have you ever lost at anything Spank?

If so, I think we would all like to know what the secret is to handling defeat. I'm sure excuses never come into it...
