The failure to sell on £31million Bulgarian hitman Dimitar Berbatov
Does this mean he's staying?!
Looks like it at the moment!
Though I'm sure he said himself that he wanted to move on now
I would love for kiko to prove me wrong and do basically a fletch (although I always saw something in fletch), however I really dont see him being a UTD quality player in the long term.
Maybe its a confidence thing, I dont know or maybe its an 'I made it' after villa
Speaking of 'I have made it' this is my biggest concern for clev too.
Kiko has too much of an ego for someone who hasn't achieved anything yet, that's his main problem
Pride - seems to be a lot of that going around with some of the UTD youngsters at the moment
worrying really, agents?
I know what you mean, somethings not right with the attitudes in the younger players at the moment. Hopefully it's just that crop.
I think agents putting big sums of money in front of them is taking away from players wanting to play for the shirt
Speaking of 'I have made it' this is my biggest concern for clev too.
-----------------
Why's that?
Even though for Berbatov's sake i'd rather he moved on and got regular playing time, in a situation where we're losing, i'd choose Berba over Macheda (every day of the week) to come on and change a game.
It makes the Dimi situation even harsher IMO. Considering he chose us before money etc and has kept silent and 'cheerful'.
One of those situations where you dont know if the youngsters are to blame or the management TBH
5th choice is optimistic.
They havent included Kagawa as a forward, and by the time Macheda returns from any loan Will Keane will be getting his chance.
I genuinely think a relatively positive loan spell can only really boost his transfer value. I just can't imagine him being given one of the top group of striking spots for the foreseeable future.
BVB - not based on concrete facts TBH. Just appears that clev is very much into the 'image' , sponsorship etc vibes
I havent quite bought into some of the hype surrounding him YET, of course there is potential there but he could also be the next chris eagles
Pea - I think a lower division low key loan is best for him
almost a chance to start over. The only real plus point for him is that SAF rates (or rated) him and I do trust his judgment (fletch, welbeck etc)
Funnily enough despite the villa goal I think he would suit an 'andy carroll' role so should have looked at the likes of ...well allardyce

Nah, he's definitely a level above that.
Went to school with him, and when he did his cruciate when he was about 15, the club supported him when most would have been sacked off. He was very greatful for that, and works harder than most.
Berbs is staying
But not playing
Clevs is from the same village as me and, on occasion, still drops into the local pub to see all his old friends and chats to pretty much everyone.
He seems a normal 22 year old, doesn't go around claiming to be the biggest thing to come out of the town, he even goes to the local gym!
So, I think attitude wise he's a very good lad and one can only hope he remains injury free and recovers some of his amazing early season form.

Where's that?
It's called Clayton and is in Bradford (I know).
The pub I've seen him in is called the Fleece and the gym is Nuffield Health in Guisely, which is in Bradford but has a Leeds post code!?
Yeah his mum lived in Clayton whilst we were at school, his dad was in Manchester, which is why he travelled back and forth rather than moving.
Says on his Wiki he was born down South, when did he move to Bradford?
He was in the same year as me from the start of secondary school, so he was 11 then. Pretty sure he went to primary (or at least some years of primary) with some of the lads too.
I'd assume he moved up here about the time he started playing for Bradford, which I think was about 7?
'98 he joined Bradford, so 8/9 years old.
That's nice, good to see a poster friends with a professional for the club. You still talk with him? If he gets over his injuries I can see him becoming a top class player for us, we all saw his talent at the beginning of the season. Link-up play was great with Wazza and Welbeck, he was creative as well at times. Good tackler, got high hopes for the guy.
Occasionally, I was out coaching in America when he was on the tour in 2010 and he offered me tickets to a match I was close to, but I couldnt get there!
He comes to the pub that all our school lot used to frequent (when underage) around xmas time when everyone seems to be there again.
