According to twitter(sorry) we've have a 38 million euros bid for Lucas Moura submitted. However it seems the bid has been rejected and a price tag of 34 million pounds placed.

--

I thought a few days ago that this was a none starter but it won't go away and is similar to Oscar to Chelsea which now seems done deal (according to SSN)

I think 34 million is a lot to pay for such a young lad but apparently he is exceptionally talented and I must say he does appear to have unbelievable skill.

Won't hold my breath, but he could be some player for us (if he's as good as people say)

Isn't the extra money meant to be a clause in his contract which increases his share of the transfer fee from 20% to 30% which is activated on the 1st of August

according to twitter lucas moura is coming

posted on 17/7/12

you would think they would want to sell now so they get 80% of the transfer fee instead of 70% when Lucas' share goes up

posted on 17/7/12

I hope we sign him. We will finally have a replacement for Obertan

There is no such thing as a replacement for Obertan

my word this guy looks good though...

so according to twitter, 44m bid is accepted......

In terms of running with the ball this guy would be a nightmare to defend against.

He's fast, strong, has quick feet and genuine skills that would make defenders want to break his legs! Reminds me of the way Ronaldo (Brazil) ran at defenders in his younger days.

Would love to have him at United but doubt it'll happen.

If his mind is right he could be a star.

I think he will always be overshadowed by Neymar the same way Ronaldo will always be overshadowed by Messi

Why would the club care?

The club need to agree to any sale as it can't be done without them, so they'll just insist on their requested amount of cash remaining the same whether that's a 70% cut or 80% e.g. if they wanted 25m (80%) then when it becomes 70% they'll still insist on 25m.

If anything it's the Lucas camp that would need to decide whether they want to drop their extra money once they have 30% rather than 20%.

posted on 17/7/12

The club would care as there is less chance of receiving a higher bid, i.e. £25 mil as opposed to £30 mil

posted on 17/7/12

As you said it doesn't matter how much we pay as long as they get their 25 million but there is a higher chance of a sale when the cost is lower to the buyer, i.e. an extra 20% on top of that for Lucas instead of 30%

Wish this would just end now. He's never going to be a United player.

Probably just usual agent BS trying to milk the club dry or start a bidding war. Best way to do that? Use the name of one of the biggest clubs in the world.

I have never thought for a single second we were going to sign a 19yr Brazilian, who has no European experience, for over £30m. In fact it would represent the biggest risk in terms of transfers that we have ever done.

Not only that but we have just signed Kagawa, AM, and have 3 other attacking wingers who are all right footed like Moura.

So it's a load of bollox !!!

I think its ballacks tbh.

Its been a slow begining to the transfer market opening and therfore the media are just linking everyone with everyone.
