I reckon that this thread will go 218 posts until some Manyoo fan go all xenophobic.
As per.

With us for 3.5 seasons, never had a red card and never even been suspended if memory serves. Yet people call him a thug.

Never deliberately tried to end a players career like the thug Keane.

I will be gutted to see him go he's one of my favourite players, someone's going to get a cracking defensive mid!

Or Michael Ball?

During an international friendly on 3 March 2010, de Jong fractured the leg of Bolton Wanderers' American international Stuart Holden as the result of a late challenge, causing Holden to be sidelined for six weeks.[32] In the 2010 FIFA World Cup Final he kicked Spanish player Xabi Alonso in the chest, a challenge for which de Jong admitted he was lucky not to have received a red card.[33] On 3 October 2010, in a Premier League match against Newcastle United, a tackle by de Jong on Hatem Ben Arfa resulted in the latter being carried off the pitch with a double fracture of his left tibia and fibula.[34]

Is he the last bar Tevez of the Kia connection?

Had I known all that Maestro I'd have had him as a shoe in for United, he'd have fitted nicly with Rooney, Scholes, Keane, Beckham and others who deliberately try to kick and injure people.

He tried his best to kill Alonso though in the WC final.

De Jong is such a limited footballer. He offers nothing more than being able to sit infront of a back four. On the ball he's actually a poor player.

City won't miss him. Even Barry is better which speaks volumes.

I'd take him at United, who's he getting sold to?

Yes he is so limited that he had the highest passing completion percentage in the Premier League in the 2010–11 season out of the top 50 players.

I'm sure DeJong was gutted that his wayward pass initiated the final attack in the 95th minute against QPR.

To be honest he's served his purpose by helping us get up the ladder but Id much rather play Barry there so move him on now

If you only knew how stupid that comment is.

He rarely gives the ball away an his pass completion is up there with the very best of them.

Totally wrong, when he's in the team we encourage our FB's to go forward and his instructions are to be ready for a possible counter-attack. It's a tactic that's served us well for the last 2 seasons.

In fairness, De Jong has a lot less impact on City games now that the team have improved their possession play x

Swing.... and a miss!

City have never had players who try to injure people, right?

Ball
Barton
Bellamy
Balotelli
Adebayor
Tevez

Maestro your the one who started the comparisons ona large scale, I just showed it works both ways.

Tevez?

Ade, After a double footed challenge by RVP who then went on to do the same challenge twice in the world cup?
Balo. after Parker had continually kicked him from behind, you know what Parkers like.
Bellers NEVER attacked a player while at city

Which leaves Ball. Evil player on the pitch and we were well shot of him. We reacted immediately and he was sold on. That cant be said of Keane, Cantona and if you want history Fitzpatrick as well.

What exactly did Ball do?

You could add Best and Buchan to United's list.

Actually my mistake, it was Thatcher I was thinking of. Ball just screwed us for the money while "injured" and slgged us off on chanel 5 when he was commentating.

That was Mills.
