Chelsea certainly have an array of attacking options but they are going to be found wanting in defence. Last season they parked the bus to win the CL, Roman will insist on attack so although it will be exciting to watch they will fall short. I think 3rd spot.
Parked the bus in 3 games We won't attack as much as you think too, but 3rd spot is what most chelsea fans are hoping for
Chelsea have bought some great players but I don't think RDM is the man for the job. I like him as a man but last season was based on team spirit, a siege mentality. This season he'll need more than that, and I don't think he has it in him.
Rdm is very similar to Ancelotti, he should do well at the club
Don't compare RDM and Carlo mate. Carlo was a quality manager.
When i say there similar i'm talking as in they take a very laid back approach to things and don't try and play the dictator role. Manager's like that have suited us, Hiddink, Carlo, Mourinho being the most recent examples. That'll make it much easier to communicate with the younger players and older ones. Good tactically as well which he doesn't get enough credit for
You don't think Mourinho was a dictator?
I think we have a chance if Yaya Toure and Kompany have an extended injury spell during the season because those two are absolute beasts.
I'm not certain that United are nearly a cert to finish above us if im honest.
The players loved Mourinho, he was able to stamp his authority, but didn't do it in a way where he was unapproachable and still communicated with the players.

True hes a major contrast to Capello. Now thats what you call a dictator.
Yup Capello, Van Gaal etc

Don mata, I think he was a dictator in a more subtle way. It was completely his way and no other which is why he left.
Your team still plays in a Mourinho way, even though he left years ago. AVB tried to change it and it don't work.
I can't see Chelsea doing as well in the league as some suggest - I don't think RDM is a good manager.
His league form was worse than AVB's last season.

Thats because he had to pick up the mess AVB left behind. Also he prioritised very well!

He also was playing 3 games a week for almost the enite period in charge, we had injuries and suspensions.
The fact we did as well as we did was frankly amazing.
I also don't have us down for the league this season.
If all goes well I can see them challenging, but they seem to have bought a lot of very simular players, Hazzard, Mata, Marin etc. Not sure if they can all fit in the team and will it unsettle them? It just seems a buy because they are good policy without thinking how they will fit in the team.
If they gell they will be up there, has Oscar signed? He looks some player.
Like someone said above, I think they should have strenghed at the back too. Ivanovic RB??
We are still expecting to sign 2 players, I expect that one of them will be a right back. Bertrand has proven to be good cover for Ashley on the left, Ivanovich can cover right and central defence as can Ferriera at a push. With our holding mid fielders our defence is relatively sound, I think what will hold us back this year is the team gelling and adapting to new tactics.
I fully expect Chelsea to make a very strong challenge for the league. Worth an each way bet.
