I'm sure Zaheer will be thinking the same.

As for how the series will go.
Both teams look to have better batting line ups, couple this with our weather and I can see a 1-0 or 1-1 series.

Crumbling? have a look at the English scores in recent times.. I think the last time a team bowled us out twice was at Perth since then no team as done it..

Indians bowlers as a unit maynt be as as talented as english,
but they are "More Effective" than english.why?
Because indians are the no.1 sledgers these days. They have bad boys such as Yuvraj, Every batsman has got the taste of Srisanth(pietersen got 1 last time),zaheer will give you a nasty look and some mouthful, nowadays even Isanth seems to have something to say to the batsmen.
And english batsmen are young so they will collapse to the swing, spin, seam, bounce, mountainous indian scorecard and mainly Sledging.
I dont see any sledgers in English bowlers. They look like momma's boys. Stuart broad is childish but cant get into the skin of opposition batsman's skin with his sledging.

So 1 thing england lack is sledging.
Based on indian standard, heres some advice to the english bowlers.
1.when you bowl, then you should stare at the batsman as if he's your step-husband (look at zaheer)
2.when you take a wicket, you should be real angry ,make your face ugly and shout out real loud(swann, look at harbhajan when he gets wicket)
3.sometime you should dance in the cricket pitch like a stripper(look at sreesanth)

The best way to get under a batsman's skin is to send him packing bat to the pavilion.
As the saying goes, 'actions speak louder than words', or 'sticks and stones (flying stumps and cricket balls) may break my bones, but words can never hurt me'.

Yuvraj won't even be playing and maybe not Sreesnath either.

As for England. Anderson will I'm sure have a few words to say but as Hope says, actions speak louder than words.

Arent india current worl Test champions aswell given that we hold The Mace

England will become the new number one team IF we win by two tests.
Not that I really care about the rankings.

A world test championship doesn't exist, India are simply ranked number one in the world, using a complex computer program.
It would be interesting to see a system based on 3 points for a win, 2 for a tie and 1 for a draw.
A top team against a lowly placed team would be 1 point for a win, zero for a draw, the lowly placed team would get the maximum point of 3,2 and 1.

IMO India will lose in England then go down under and lose to a poor Aussie team aswell...
The problems with a 3 match series in England is sometimes the best teams dont win because the weather plays a huge part.. A team could dominate two tests and get thrawted by the weather in both and bat badly in one innings and lose the series. Am glad this is going to a 4 match series...

posted on 14/7/11

And India will only be classed a "great team" if they dominate test cricket for the same time period as the West-indies and Australia..

I'm pretty sure the series is 4 tests not 3.
Next year the SA series is over 3 tests due to the Olympic games.

He did say it was four.

Three tests for the Saffers is a blo.dy disgrace.

We could play the tests up north if London is out of bounds.

That's what I read ginger.

Read the last part.

I reckon he remembered as he was finishing his post

You're right of course but it was a strangely constructed and confusing posting.

Well, I'm the last one who should criticise the construction of a post but I do think he realised just as he was going to hit the send button.
Anyway, when is this test series going to start? It seems like it's taking forever to come round.

"And there is harbhajan who looks like getting past shane warne by the time he finishes his career."

I can see the hyperbole in the whole article, but this one makes me laugh the best! Getting past in what? Number of wickets, average, strike rate or in weight etc? And in either case I think harbhajan would not get past warne.

Just last winter people were calling for cook to be axed. Now he is a legend based on a single series. Classic!

I wouldn't call India clear favorites by any way of measuring it. The fact is that while they dominate the subcontinent they struggle the minute the local restaurants stop being curry houses.

So actually they may do well at lords!

Lord prosperity,
the ugly turbanator is just 31 yrs old and has already 400+wickets.he may well play for another 7 years ie about 70-80 more games.
If he remains fit and inform, then he might well pick 300(at his current 4 wickets /match) to 400(if he improves).
So if he plays just well from now on then i cant see why he cant get 700-800 wickets.

As I showed the other day, Harbhajan gets two thirds of his wickets in India. With the new Future Tours Program India will be playing more tests away from and against top opposition.
700 wickets seems an unlikely expectation.
He is, in any event one the worlds top spinners with his present record.

In my last post I abbreviated the Future Tours Program to its three letters and was moderated for using an unacceptable word. Soon using ODI instead of one day international will be banned.
