Got to agree with merrysupersteve.

I despise Rooney and I'll admit it's mainly because of who he plays for. It's all just tribal loyalty and as long as Suarez plays in the PL - he'll always get it.

The point is that Rooney isn't booed everywhere he goes. Everyone on here says Suarez gets booed just because he's not a good human being. So why isn't Rooney booed everywhere he goes. Where does the moral highground go when Rooney's on the pitch?

Right so Rooney, Terry et al are 'just as bad'. But I know I could make an educated guess and say you've not made anywhere near as many comments on Rooney, Terry etc.

Rooney isn't booed everywhere he goes at this moment in time. He has been in the past. Hell even Beckham was and I think most can admit that he isn't a bad bloke!

If Rooney does something stupid again (and let's face it, he will) he'll get torn to shreds. Suarez just happens to be flavour of the month at the moment. I don't particularly like Rooney as a human being but as a footballer, he will be backed by United fans. Just as Suarez will be by Liverpool fans.

That's why when commenting on this thread, I haven't castigated Liverpool fans for backing Suarez. Rather, I've just told you to accept that he's the current flavour of the month for being a hate figure, he's also very easy to dislike for rival fans (like Rooney).
