Tyson looked great every time I saw I him play before we signed him. I think Clough has played him out of position as a central striker - his only real attribute is pace and he is most effective when he simply boots the ball past the full-back and chases after it. He hasn't got much trickery and isn't a natural finisher. He seems to have lost a bit of speed after his lay-off and his confidence is shot. But he cost nothing in a transfer fee, and if we sell him he would probably command a small amount now. Obviously we have paid him a bit in wages, but hey ho these things happen.

I was pleased when we signed him, thought he would provide a bit of threat like he did for Forest in their play-off season.

Just goes to show, even the greats occasionally get it wrong.

It was clear he was never going to amount to much under Clough after that, but let's see how he does at Barnsley before deciding if he's as useless as some might suggest. I don't recall many shouting for him to be dropped or released before his spat with Our Nige either, but then some folk'll remember things as they want to rather than how they were. Thank goodness I'm here to offer an unbiased verdict on all things DCFC.

You certainly SHOULD be unbiased, 666, as an unaligned remote observer of football rather than one who, shall we say, supports a team in any meaningful sense of the word. It's funny, though - armchair "fans" are sometimes the most opinionated. Sometimes you wonder whether they are somehow trying too hard, trying to convince themselves that they are one of the gang, rather than face the reality that they are just sad surrogates whose opinions are formed by what they read on the 'net 'n' that.

I support the club, just not the parasites that are stripping it bare of talent and hope.
