You know the ranking system is flawed when friendlies are included.
Maybe the FA should organise games against Myanmar, American Samoa and the Solomon Islands. We'd be above Spain before you know it.
Are you suggesting that Stats do not always tell the truth??
FFS dont tell mirf, he lives and dies by his stats..
england must be great as we get paid the most...
the solomon islands would be a tricky one especially away from home.. the young english coaching manual says "look to draw the game"... then talk a right load of old sh-te afterwards in the interview.. "difficult game, difficult opponents, difficult conditions, the lads are tired etc etc etc..."... take you silly wages and be a role model for greedy ,
lazy moderately talented youngsters in the UK...
U just couldnt make it up... as cryer used to say
Dont worry Tez, atleast 96.7% of stats are genuine and not made up, its official <thumbsup>
Love the idea of pointless friendlies to go up the rankings, a country should do that just to see if it works.
England are great 38, we won in 1966 incase you didnt know! I know we dont often like to mention it and it was 46 years ago now (and we have won nothing since) but surely that makes us world beaters!!??
What would you rather, history and pride or medals and trophies!!?? The former is the British way when it comes to football and you know it! Next you will say maybe footballers shouldnt be revered as gods until they have actually won something!
If friendlies are taken into account, Town must be ranked 5,367th...approx.
Keep up Jacko, our 3-0 win at Saltergate puts us 4,672nd, just 4 ranking points behind the Angolan Womens Under 14's
Novak, you are wrong as Angolan Womens Under 14s had a flat tyre on the way to their last match, couldnt play it and therefore we are above them in the rankings again! Result!!!
the angolan womans under 14s..
difficult opponents, difficult surface, the lads were tired, some were carrying injuries , its a long season, blah de f-cking blah,,
a draw is a good result in the circumstances, some of those girls even had football boots on!!!!!!!
Thanks for the interview Lee!!!!!
I heard the Angolan under 14s were so good as Gerry Murphy coached them.......atleast thats what Boots said ......
38 you missed the bit where Lee said the interviewer was "bang out of order" for questioning why we didnt beat them, even when 4 of their girls went home early as their mums came to pick them up!!
we can now forget the england "every 2 year debacle"...at least for a couple of years..
we will qualify again in a sh-t group...get over excited about the underachieving f-ckwits and get knocked out in the first knockout round again as the bottle "goes" and the "lads" have "achieved" just enough to keep up their ludicrous sponsorship contracts.
I would advise them to look at the pictures of 2 planes arriving "home" on the same day after the euros.. one with a load of miserable, overpaid, underachievers on it spouting they were "tired" and other loads of sh-te... the other landed at brize norton.... enough said...
I blame FIFA. The FIFA Coaching system that produces a conveyor belt of grey managers and coaches, players who are just lapping it all up saying, 'whatever you say boss'... and don't give a monkeys about all the tactics, motivational videos, stats, formations and squad rotation...why should they...they have a contract, the manager is a moron, the Chairman doesn't speak English, neither does the owner..whoever that is...pah !!
howard wilkinson started the "coaching not to lose" systems we have now..
listen to him speak, its like listening in sepia...
he couldnt motivate his lad to go to the corner shop for some sweets..
having seen a few sessions when it was at lilleshall, i watched a whole morning session with the "strikers" comprising of them being shown how to "cover back" and drop off..
f-cking awful... 5 minutes would have covered that whole subject followed by a load of shouting at them if they failed to "defend from the front" in a game scenario...
ian rush was proably the best defender liverpool had on occasions, bet no one had to teach him to run and close down etc..
what we seem to have is an international side full of individuals , who just try and do enough so that they personally dont get the blame or look too bad...
no one tries anything different, no one wants to get out of position, no one busts a gut to support anyone else..
I think they were all hoping hart would drop one in against italy so they could get home early and have him to blame after their "battling performances"..
