I am happy with that squad of players also the cb area does not need reinforcing in my opinion.
As you say Micah can be that optional cb if needed and Kolo although you say is not good enough can be utilised in emergencies.
It looks like the youth set up is coming along nicely and I expect a bit of game time for the likes of Suarez this season.
No signings for me and I would be happy.

Your squad is practically perfect in terms of quality and depth, but my opinion which is shared by many is you need backup in central defence. Agger might solve that, but Liverpool want too much for him.

I'm hoping Suarez and Razak are brought more into the first team picture, particularly Razak who could have an important role to play when yaya goes to the Africas cup. Hopefully we can farm out Savic on loan somewhere,I don't want him learning in the first team

Suarez an razak should hopefully break through next season, we have a few good youngsters on the right track, I am confident we will soon have a crop of decent home grown players to bolster the squad.

Certainly wouldn't be interested in spending £20mill + on Agger as back up.

Agger wont come as a back up player and i doubt Lescott would be too chuffed as one either after the season he has just had.
It is a difficult one that, that's why i say go with what we have for this season.
Evaluate the situation next season when Kolo will be gone anyway.

I'm not bothered about the transfers as such but what I am bothered about is why we havn't bought anyone. Mancini has signed a new cotract which is all very good, however there has been speculation previously as to the amount of power that Mancini wants as regards players in and out. I worry that someone in the food chain is blocking Mancini's targets to make a point and that cant be good. However you all know me as a conspiracy theorist what with Micah not going to the Olympics and all so hey, no worries really.

I could not see Mancini standing for any of that and not sure if he would have signed a new contract with things like that going on behind the scenes.
I think that is one conspiracy theory too
far.

At least i hope so.

Not bothered in the slightest.

We've provided a goldmine for the media over the last 4 years in regards to transfers and they're the only people who seem to be alarmed at our lack of activity.

I suppose a cheeky bid for Messi would be ok.

A forward quartet of Messi, Silva, Aguero and Tevez sounds spiffing.

It seems our illustrious leader doesn't mind us spending a bob or two

"His Highness Sheikh Mansour has spoken of the importance of Manchester City securing back to back English Premier League titles...

Upon the occasion of presenting the 'Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Football Cup Championship' trophy to the winning side in Abu Dhabi, the 43 year old City owner briefly outlined his opinion on the coming season to the Al Ittihad newspaper.

His Highness, speaking aside of his role as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs said of City:

'What is important is to preserve the achievement (winning the title) and maintain the good standards of last season. We will support the team with a player, or players. This does not detract from the efficiency and capacity of the current squad of players, with whom the Manager is completely satisfied.'

What will we do when the oil dries up and the Sheik gets bored with us though?

posted on 9/8/12

It's a constant worry.

posted on 9/8/12

Well it seems a constant worry for supporters of other clubs because they keep mentioning it.

Based on known reserves of 1389380640000bbl and a world consumption of 85085664bbl/day, oil has another
44.7 years.
But that does not include new discoveries that will happen in countries that are not stupid enough to stop drilling.

That will make me 84 years of age.
That will do for me Tommy.

you will go back to bouncing up and down the leagues and along with chelsea will implode into dust having dominated for years, having said that your humiliation of the red half of London seems to get up fergie nose, so long my it continue.

another note, wenger must be praying for the day the oil kings fook off, he will be the only self sufficient club in the league and will p1ss himself laughing at the rest of us!!!!

Wenger seems to forget that their stadium is sponsored and financed by 'oil money'.

yes but they are self sufficient, and if the money men do a runner most clubs are in trouble!

Arsenal will only be self sufficent as long as they qualify for the CL and mugs are willing to pay £2,000 a year to watch a feeder club.
