Maybe you're right, but anyway who cares. Lets focus on our own players!
I don't particularly care whether United spend their money well or not to be honest
I make it £65,600,000!
Get your facts right?
hasnt he just turned 28?
He just turned 29 this month
If he stays fit, he will get loads of goals especially throught valenci & nani.
He has been fit for a while now
That's the difference with SAF and Wenger, he can make expensive gambles, if it pays off just for one season he is quids in! (not literally)
He hates not winning anything.
sorry just turned 29 litterally like a week ago - he's hardly passed it. He doesnt carry much weight on him - never been prolifically quick but just sharp over short distances which shouldnt change over the next 4 years or so.
anyone know when it will be made official? medicals don't normally take this long do they?
You honestly believe he is on £200k+ a week?
"You honestly believe he is on £200k+ a week?"
What? You think he's on less? If anything it'll be more.
Not as risky as floating your club on the NYSE for an obviously overloaded price and then watching it tumble by a third within a couple of days - cashback! Or errr not....
You honestly believe he is on £200k+ a week?

Of course he is. He would of wanted top wages. Maybe not Rooney wages but top wages and why not. He's one of the best strikers in Europe

What? You think he's on less? If anything it'll be more.
Figure quoted in The Times today was £160k per week. Also he obviously isn't all about money or he would have gone to City rather than us. Personally, I don't see anything wrong when a player at 29 with only a few years left at his best wants to win a bit of silverware before he retires.
Obviously, if you choose to believe the red tops to make you feel better about the deal, be my guest... But he is not on £200k+, nor is Rooney
Rooney is on £160k a week, well reported by the respected journalists... A huge wage, RVP would not be getting more.
Also he obviously isn't all about money or he would have gone to City rather than us.

Except that City never actually made a bid for Van Persie, only an enquiry .

This.
van Persie wanted to leave, then he wanted to stay but Wenger said he wasn't in his plans. RVP didn't want to go to Juve, so the only club left was United.

Wenger has said he had no choice but to sell Van Persie, he would of kept him if he had changed his mind.

The amount of times I've heard this is ridiculous. So why is he at United? Because they stand more chance of winning trophies than City? Of course not, City are ahead of United now.
The reason he's at United is because he burned his bridges with the club, had to leave (otherwise he'd be spending the next year getting abuse from everyone, and missing out on a significant amount of wages which he would be getting at a new club) and United were the only club prepared to cough up for him.
Except that City never actually made a bid for Van Persie, only an enquiry .
To be honest, even if he had gone to City it would not have been for the money alone. They are England's top club at the moment and it is not such a loathsome thing to want to leave Arsenal for trophies when you are a top player (like Nasri, Fabregas or RVP). Like it or not, players are far more likely to win things at United or City than at Arsenal these days.
35 million on wages over 4 years, working on the fact it's 200k p/w. Initial fee of 15 million with potential add ons rising to 24 million. so that is 50-59 million. Winning the European cup is worth 47 million. So yeah, it is a risk, but a calculated one, he who dares I guess.
Likely or not. United ended up potless last year. Doesn't change the fact.
Initial fee of 15 million
-----------------
It's 22.5m with an additional 1.5m if you win the Prem or CL in the next 4 years.

How do you quantify that, a goal difference win in the league?
