Yeah he played well. But you have to remember who he was playing against...
How would he fair defensively against a winger who was any good? I'll reserve judgment for now.

Didn't see the game but sounds like Insua had a good game. People say he's beefed-up a bit, if this is the case then maybe we don't need a new left back. Its pretty well accepted that Aurelio is pretty good when fit. With insua as a decent back up for the inevitable lay off, why not stick with what we've got?
Insua is another one like Aquilani who I was disappointed was sent on loan last year especially when his first one fell through and it was clear we needed a leftback. He had a decent season the year before but his inexperience let him down a few times and the only way that could have been improved was by playing games.
Hopefully now we'll keep him, even as a backup as he counts as homegrown and play him occasionally to give him the experience.
we didnt protect him very well, he was thrown into to many games to young and for too long. I think he has put to much weight on, he needs pace not weight.
He's left footed, mobile and has a decent cross. From the few clips I've seen Cissoko is perhaps a bit better though. But that would be another 9m spent when perhaps it could be better used elsewhere.
Yes a decent back up, got a good cross in him.
