The latest from Keith Andrews is 'Stand up and be counted!'
That's assumes that you can stand in the first place, and judging by his utterly inept performance on Saturday I'm amazed he even got out of bed!
He's taken up the NRC message say the BEN.
The message yes, but that's all; NRC put in a shift, he needs putting down a shaft.
And on his way back up, why not get a donkey, and see who can produce more accurate passes.
Donkey's a dead cert!
I'm rantin now, but why spend wages, when all you need is a handful of carrots and some straw.

Madnotlobian. I think this article is pathetic from someone who is probably reasonably intelligent (of course, I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt here).

Just think back to when the Ginger one was given his gardening leave and tell me who was the guy most posters of the old BBC 606 forum, was the favourite with most posters to be appointed manager. From memory I would say it was Owen Coyle. I am open to correction if I am wrong but that is how I remember it.

So now after the event, you are the wise one who knew that it was doomed before it even started.

Hind sight is a great thing but at the time I don't remember many if any posters saying That Owen Coyle was rubbish and shouldn't be given the position of manager.

I understand fans not being happy with the way that things have turned out, I'm not happy but this article is just childish.

If it's meant to be funny, it isn't.

Hey ....what's the problem? Skittled out of the cup by a pub team, and 5 places below Derby (even The Dark One couldn't manage that ...).

Not to worry ...we'll still be favourites for promotion next season (from Div1) and the (OC Is) God botherers will still be banging out their ' Give It Time ' mantra ......

What a refreshin' change .....Not.

SWIE I think that's a bit harsh, he does say in retrospect it was probably worth a stab, but you have to agree that sometimes Garty leaves it a bit late. Pathetic is such a strong word.

SWIE- I think you should read the thing properly and understand the context before shooting off with the abuse.
I think we were all, me included, sort of blinded by the romance of an ex-wanderers favourite and the relief of Megson going.
It isn't pathetic or childish, and it wasn't particularly meant to be funny.
You owe me an apology.

That's a fair point. The real problem now though, is that some fans are still suffering from that ' blind romance ' syndrome, and imagine that it will all come good ...sooner or later ......so they continue to rally round a lost cause ...

I haven't seen anyone anywhere sticking up for Coyle - I take it this is on another forum/website Firstof?

I think some people are either struggling to come to terms with how bad we are, or they don't have a sense of humor.

Yes JAH ...not on this particular thread, I agree, but there's still support on these forums for leavin' things be for another 5, 15, 15 games, same as there was last season. The hope was that, having dropped a division, but with still a strong squad, we might just hit the ground running. That's why the bookies made us favourites to win the title. But, it seems obvious that nothing has been learned from last season.

There's little wrong with the jigsaw pieces themselves... it's just that the bloke who should be assembling it hasn't got the skills to put the bits together.

Firstof - how can you possibly say we'll be pushing for promotion out of League 1 next season? That kind of divisive talk sows bad feeling. Any idiot knows the points deduction will prevent us from making a challenge - it's going to be 2014/15 at the earliest before we can think about promotion back to the Championship!

I wanted Ginger out and OC in .....hindsight is that this looks like a mistake. It seemd like a good idea at the time.
Just like in any business sometimes a mistake is made. You then go ahead and try to correct the error before the business goes under.
BWFC is going under ..... it is heading for the dark days again unless evidence is provided to the contrary.
I'd put a call in to the Isle of Man and see if Big Eddie is still alive and ask him what he thinks.

i dont know if anyone knows who managed burnley before owen coyle just maybe he put a good squad of players together playing a certain style of football that suited the team and coyle had little to do but take over the reins,

posted on 3/9/12

I would still much rather have Owen coyle than Steve Kean, at least he doesn't make outrageous statements that never have any hope of coming true. You can only complain when you have a global football advisor who talks tripe constantly, then maybe i will feel sorry for you.....maybe.

I for one rate the sentiment of the article, don't believe the back room boys are up to it, that said they work for someone who isn't prepared to change it (Coyle) so he must accept the responsibility. When they came in it was like a breath of fresh air compared to hwmnbn and frankly, and old favourite fitted the bill nicely.
SWIE i think you are getting a little too much sun!!

Mad, I don't owe you an apology. I have reread your article and it still smacks of being wise after the event. We can all do that but no apology.

I have said it as I see it. I don't go out to upset people but if you think I was harsh on you, I think you were harsh with comments in your article.

Don't let it get to you, just a difference of opinion. No real harm meant.

Nothing wrong with opinions differing. Wouldn't be much of a forum if we all agreed.

The problem isn't the opinions, its the way they are sometimes presented. Since 5.55pm on Sat, i've seen :

Morons
Idiots
God-botherers

It hasn't got to me, SWIE.
But, because you clearly haven't been able to understand this (even though everyone else has) you were fairly insulting.
1. It clearly doesn't smack of being wise after the event- it clearly implies that I think we were ALL taken in at the time
2. Why is it childish? And why is that not an insult?
3. Ditto pathetic.
4. Ditto harsh.

I believe that man was Steve Cotterill.

By all accounts near the end of his tenure they played some terrible stuff.

So he's improved all other sides apart from us. You then have to really ask. ARE some of the players really all to blame?

I was one of Owen's most vocal supporters on here even after we were relegated but I think it's time for a change now because there's no sign of the slump being arrested at all.

On the day Owen was officially appointed I posted an article on the old 606 pointing out that he wasn't the messiah, just a very promising young manager with real potential and I stated then that time would be the only thing to tell us if he was going to fulfill it. For roughly a year it looked as if he would and then we started a dreadful slide that many say began with the semi-final against stoke.

I stuck with him, particularly in the first half of last season when it seemed as if God himself was against us and we faced dire circumstances that no one could forsee or legislate for. In the second half I saw real reason for hope and so even though we went down on the final day I felt as if we had the right man for the long term and that he'd learned the lessons of the mistakes he made.

Sadly after the five competitive games that have taken place this season it's clear to me that he can't change things, perhaps it's simply the wrong place or the wrong time for Owen to work out for the club and himself. Perhaps it is a lack of something in Owen. Whatever the reason I feel his time is now up.

I agree with the article completely. Owen was worth a try, more than worth it but sadly it hasn't worked out. It might not even be anyone's fault but for the good of both the club and Owen himself it's time we parted company.

Agree with luckyPeterpiper.....

If there are signs of improvement then stick with it. If we were dominating play with good football and creating good chances and just flat out unlucky then it would be grand.
However we are not doing any of the above and at present and not a glimmer of a change in sight.
I have stated in other articles that the level of our play is as bad if not worse than under Ginger....and I'm sticking to that opinion.

Mad, I can sit and debate any subject with friends eye to eye and say some things that are said are silly or rubbish or even childish. They can also say like things to me. We don't fall out or have an argument because we have disagreed and expressed our thoughts.

There was nothing abusive in my comments, so may I suggest that you try not to be so sensitive.

I won't reply to any more comments on this matter as I find it slightly tedious keep having to answer the same questions put in a different format.

As I say no harm meant.
