This is part the issue with assist statistics.

Aurier put it on a plate for Kane today and son the other day but got nothing. Trippier took a throwin to Kane vs Huddersfield and got an assist for a worldy.

Chances created is a way better stat.

How do they determine what constitutes a clear chance
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And how about quality of chances? You can have a player create 30 chances all season but loads of them are at best half chances, yet you could have a player create 20 clear cut chances all season and based on that statistic the first player looks better.

This is why stats are so pointless imo, just watch and decide who’s a good player with your own eyes.

Sandy is correct tonight. Son been superb this season but he’s got his clown shoes on right now. Awful cross that was.

And yet he often comes up with a late goal. WHU have conceded 14 pens or similar so he should be running into the box at defenders

I mean Stewart downing created the most chances in the premier league the season before he joined us for villa, but anyone who actually watched him knew he was still shiiiiiiiiit. But on stats he was great

I agree that in general, the eye test is better that stats. But stats are useful, can reveal stuff that goes unnoticed when you are watching.
