Jose says no injury for Sessegnon

Should go on loan next season and get away from this
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or just play ahead of the very average Davies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not gonna happen with jose clearly, cirkin more likely to get a game
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes I agree. Experience before youth, even when the experience is bang average.

We need better than Sissoko in CM.

Stick Sissoko at RB he might flourish there

Midfield is all very lovely mobile but offers nothing defensively or offensively, with no link between the two. No quality there whatsoever at times. Lo Celso is often trying to do it all himself. You'd rather not see ndombele on the pitch than watch winkssoko every week?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Genuinely? At the current moment, I trust Sissoko more than pretty much every other midfielder we have except GLC

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Trust sissoko? He can't pass the freaking ball, offers no defensive or offensive qualities. Alright though cause he's a brick shathouse who can run and had a much improved season last season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
haha, that's kinda making my point about how awful the rest of our options are

Sissoko whilst unspectacular, is muscle, and when he gets the ball gives it to someone else

Gedson, looks lightweight, poor on the ball, poor off the ball, granted I'm judging him on this clusterfack of a season

Winks, I really ain't too keen on him. His passing is off, he reminds me of the quality of midfielders we had when we had Pedro Mendes and Sean Davis in the centre, e.g should be good and effective, sometimes pleasing on the eye, but bypassed so easily by opposition whilst making sideways and backwards pass after pass

Ndombele, slow, uninterested, no desire but show's a few glimpses of decent turns to keep us fans questioning why he isn't being given more of a chance

Dele, literally cannot stand seeing him in the starting lineup. I remember writing on an article years ago that I would sell him just as he was coming out of his purple patch of goals and assists, and got slated for it. This isn't a 'told you so' but I genuinely think he is just bad at football. Touch is poor, skills are poor, can't run with the ball or pass or shoot (anymore). And no, the odd decent goal (against Man utd away) haven't changed that for me

Eric Dier, after his first season in DM under Poch has looked poor ever since

Skipp - lol

it's just a shat bunch to pick from

and that's just our midfield

players who need upgrading for me are:

- Aurier
- Sanchez
- Vertonghen
- Sissoko
- Winks
- Gedson
- Dele
- Lucas (really don't rate him)
- Lamela

That's a scary amount of money required to make improvements

9 players I'd immediately be happy to upgrade and whats scary is that 6 of them are arguably firs team regulars

When you put it like that then yes our midfield is total sheet. And it’s better than our defence.

I would say that of tonight's starting XI, only five are good enough for a team competing for CL qualification. Lloris, Alderweireld, Lo Celso, Son and Kane. And there are legitimate question marks about all five - Lloris has his blunders, Alderweireld is ageing badly, Lo Celso doesn't score or assist, Son is inconsistent and Kane looks awful when he doesn't score.

All good enough for a top-four-chasing side if surrounded by better players in a better system under a better manager. None in the "league's best" category that the likes of City or Liverpool have throughout their teams.

When six of the starting XI need major upgrades, and that's before you even think about the subs, you know the club is in the sh|t. Not even mentioning the manager.

Good post Sem

I agree I would just like to see something a bit different cause it is all a bit awful really isn't it. Sissons plays whenever he is fit and we are seeing rubbish each week. I would like to see a different midfield 3 given a go in a 433 formation. Glc and ndombele and we need a play like Sissoko who's actually a footballer.

For me I will be quietly optimistic if we just got in 4 very good additions: CB, RB, LB and DM. The rest is too much too think about at the minute lol. Try to somehow keep Kane another season the likes of Bergwijn and Son are exciting players too.

Difficult where we could raise funds from without needing even more additions. Can't see where dele fits in now, Sanchez has been a flop, Aurier wanted by Monaco but he's our only RB.

Obviously another forward people will harp on about but good teams sort out their defence first and as long as kane is about we see he is playing every minute wronglu or rightly.

Need to unearth some gems i feel

Obviously Kane is among the league's best strikers when he's on his game. Something badly wrong with him for some time though. He just doesn't seem to have the all round game that he used to, seems slow and ineffectual more often than not. Could of course be down to the team having been gash for a long time so he's had poor service, but more often than not nowadays he either looks decent (and scores), or he looks absolutely woeful. Nothing in between. I know his figures are still excellent but he just doesn't play well very often any more.

Yeah you're right mate, it really is all just a bit shat, and I honestly feel we would be having very similar conversations had Poch remained at the helm (playing style aside)

The lack of care and attention paid to the playing squad from the decision makers above the managers head need to be held accountable here

In a weird way I hope they feel the financial hurt by either missing out on major European tournaments or by needing to seriously rebuild the squad, to show them up for their arrogance and handling of the managerial situations

Disagree his link up play was miles better tonight than it has been for some games. He needs to keep plugging away and the goals will come. Class is class and all that. In the last.couple of games he gave the ball so cheaply away. Good signs for him tonight.

Only way Enic sell up is if the club's value plummets. Don't see any buyer coughing up £2bn for Spurs atm

I thought Kane worked hard & tried to hold the ball up well.

His game now is us hitting balls up to his head and him fighting to CBs for it
