Just whatever you do don't call him overrated
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Spurtle I hate the player I really do and guess why?

He had a ton of ability, technically he was easily the best player in our club. He could have been a fantastic player.

But ......................................................

He was a coward and that mistake at the end of the city CL quarter final proved that. He gave the ball away in case he took a whack and it very nearly cost us.

Thats why I hate him because he had the ability and did not use it unless he felt like it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would agree with much of that grand, although I don't hate him. He was a great player for us overall, but some put him on too high a pedestal, considering he could have done more with us.

I'd still take prime Eriksen back in a heartbeat. Though the fact I have to say I'd take the prime Eriksen back rather just Eriksen back is rather telling, because he was very poor at the end and it's not like he was too old either. He's in his peak years at the moment.

Yep just the 17 assists last season

Currently have no one close to that number this season.

I think you could argue he passed his peak, he's played a lot of high intensity high pressing senior football since he was a teenager

In fact he had a better season last season than the one before where he was supposedly far better.

posted on 15/7/20

People always slaughtered me about Eriksen because I did not rave about him I supposedly thought he was crap.

Far from it I knew how capable he was it just infuriated me that he played when he felt like it and hid when the going got rough

amongst many and I am not replying to every one you dig up

Yeah cos you won't find one where he says his priority is playing in a side that plays attractive football.

Maybe he has. I do think his form going downhill is more about motivational issues he had with us instead of being past it physically. A lot of our players were suffering at the same time and I doubt it's a coincidence.

No but you will find plenty that says he lives to score goals and he wont be doing that with 2 chances every 5 games will he?

Eriksen probably one of the best 3 spurs players from my life time

Easily top 5

Could absolutely rave about him

Not even in my top 20 but I saw the likes of Ardiles and Hoddle play

I'll let Kane answer that one.

“I don’t think you can take that moment away, working as a team and coming together and being champions, I’m sure that will feel better than breaking the record [of Premier League top scorer].”

His delivery from set pieces often pisssed me off but he was one of our best crossers. You can see how much our full backs are struggling in that department.

and you think Harry believes that might happen under jose

Are you serious

Yeah same. More important for me during our run 14-17 then any other player. We fell to pieces without him in the side.

To be fair we were always a better team with him in the side than we were without even if he did infuriate me

He's got more reason to believe that than he would have had under the previous manager to be fair.

But if we're not comparing, who should we hire who's likely to win us a trophy? Realistically, of course.

posted on 15/7/20

For all the completely fair criticism of Mourinho that's out there you can't question his record of winning trophies.

I loved Eriksen. Never an absolute top-tier player because he did flatter to deceive on occasion, but on his game he was 5 seconds ahead of everyone else on the pitch. Same sort of reading of the game as De Bruyne (just sadly not as good).

Tough question because I dont keep track of the foreign managers out there but I personally would settle for Brendon Rogers in preference to jose in a heartbeat.

With a cheque book yes but so could I. Notice that since Porto he has only ever managed top sides with lots of money and with the money he has spent Sandy could have won trophies and he is an idiot

Brendan Rodgers might be a good shout to be fair. Seems like Leicester have dropped off, and their fans on here ain't too happy but they're above us, so there's that.

"with the money he has spent Sandy could have won trophies and he is an idiot"

To be fair we've all seen plenty of managers given money and failing, with the opposite also true. Obviously he's spent a chit-ton on players in his time but I don't think it's fair to say that's the only reason he won the trophies he has.

Chelsea unbelievable money when he came in

Inter, lets not forget there are ony about 3 teams in Italy anyway

RM there are only 3 teams in Spain as well and yet again unbelievable spending power.

Utd by far the richest club in England and Jose spent loads when he as there.

Lets be honest other than Porto he had a right to win the trophies he did with the spending power he had.

Pep great manager but jesus look at his resources, would any of them have done any better than Poch at Spurs? I doubt it.

Are either of them that good or is it 99% the money?

Personally I think its the money
