18 goals and 14 assists in 26 games is unbelievable

posted on 17/1/21

They’re unbelievable stats Don no doubt, but it’s still pretty far off the stats Messi and Ronaldo were making in their prime.

Messi 11/12 - 50 goals / 19 assists
Ronaldo 14/15 - 48 goals / 17 assists

And that’s just their league stats.

Look, these 2 are beyond ridiculous. No denying that. But Harry Kane at the moment like I stated has 18 goals, 14 assists in 26 games. If he continues the way he is, which nobody can sit there and say he’s not capable, he could potentially end up the season with something stupid like 30 goals in all competitions, plus 20 assists. This for me is Messi/Ronaldo like stats. That can’t be denied by anybody.

I’m not saying Kane is going to get 68 goals in all competitions like Messi did in that incredible season, but Kane is amassing some unbelievable stats here.

Just agree Kane is world class and we’re very lucky to have him

Messi and Ronaldo on another planet, I’m not denying it. All I’m saying is Kane at this moment in time is producing stats not to dissimilar to these guys and potentially could accumulate similar level of goals / assists if he carries on. His last 27 games have amassed stupendous goals and assists. He’s not stopping either. Unbelievable.

Best striker on the planet. Wouldn’t even swap Lewandowski for him.

Don will you admit that Bergwijn played very well today?

Battled well and had a few good moments, but still forest do enough up top for me. Had a fluffed shot and that was it. Has to do more for me if he’s part of our attacking three.

So disappointing the dropping of silly points. If we just hung on to two of the leads out of the 4/5 we had we’d be sitting top.

It can be denied though, that's the whole point. 30+20 isn't Messi/Ronaldo like. 50+20 would be like Messi and Ronaldo. Quite a big difference.

No denying though, Kane is putting out some stupendous numbers, long may it continue.

Yeah, the fashion they have been dropped is the thing. As I'm sure a lot of teams up there are thinking the same re dropped points. I do fear when the Europa kicks back in juggling both comps with our squad. Jose is going to have to use it smartly.

Kane probably is a better all round player now but as a goalscorer I think his level has gone down from past seasons. How much of that is down to the way we play I don't know, but I doubt we're going to see him get near 30 league goals this season.

He doesn't score hat-tricks anymore and his shot accuracy is the second worst of all the top 25 goal scorers and shot conversion is pretty low too. Just for comparison's sake Son's shot conversion rate is more than double Kane's. Kane used to be a lot more clinical, although him dropping deeper is all a part of it no doubt.

Before I get accused of being negative about him by Hengy, I do love the guy though, and I only say all this out of regret, because I really want to see him break the records and truly be at Messi and Ronaldo level. So sorry Don, I'm going to have to disagree with you about that one. It's another thing that annoys me about Mourinho Spurs, cause I can't see that Kane is going to get those goalscoring levels back under him and even go beyond what he was doing.

It makes it worse looking at the table right now cause the two top teams are teams we've already beaten. We've relinquished our advantage over them with the silly points dropped.

Lewa has 21 goals in 15 games in the bundersliga this season

I’d argue he’s a better and more natural finisher than Kane. Although Kane has stepped up big time this season. Very lucky to have him, who knows for how much longer.

Lewa plays in a far better team you have to take into account as well

posted on 17/1/21

Of course but then I suppose we’ll go in circles comparing Kane to anyone else because he plays with different players.

He's basically scored 2 in 3 in his career though. This season is pretty much the same.
