dude, Jose didn't play him unitl now because of lack of fitness? You can't play someone who isn't fit for shlt!

All those critics need to stop whining. The guy wasnt match fit and had niggly injuries....It isn't rocket science?

He's played him today as you can see Bale is fit and his pace was back too?

Not always, there were opportunities to bring him on and get his fitness up earlier. Remember Sissoko playing in Bale's position and was left on for a full 90 mins? Other times he could have been brought on when he wasn't.

Better chance in the final with Bale starting and playing like that. He's the kind of player than can win it for you as he's already shown for Madrid.

BUT I’d urge people not to get carried away. Burnley are dross, on the same level as WBA and Sheff Utd who have been our only other recent PL wins. After both those games we were all happy and thought it might lead to sustained improvement, and both times we went on to look dismal against better opponents. If we can string some decent performances and results together then that’s a different story.

I said in my article yesterday that 11 points from the next 15 should be a bare minimum expectation given the fixtures. Today is a good start, but I will judge when the next 4 matches have been chalked off.

What I will say is that early on the games against the dross teams were some of the most painful, we couldn't create anything against the sides who wouldn't let us counter

Step in the right direction tbf to Jose

Most of the teams at the top of the table, other than City, only beat the dross to accumulate most of their points, so I am not having that is all Spurs have beaten.

Should keep the doomsters quite for a bit at least. Next defeat though will bring all the Jose out brigade back.

Can’t get carried away with a win against Burnley, they were shocking.

If you can't enjoy a 4-0 with goals like that why bother..

I think it's fair to say nobody should get carried away, but unlike against WBA and Sheff United, the recent performances have looked better from an attacking point of view, and Jose made some positive changes with the system he's gone for and dropping Sissoko. So I'm more encouraged now by this win today than I was those wins. Burnley are as well better than those 2 teams even if they're a bottom half team.

That's why I've been more quiet about asking for Jose's head cause I could see he has been trying to change what was a broken record with the negative way we were playing.

Need to keep this up with a similar line up and should end up winning the next 2 games. That would be a decent start to changing things. And then the following game against Arsenal will be the biggest indicator of how much of a change we've actually made.

Today was an absolute breath of fresh air in the fetid swamp that has been the club of late. Welcome back Gareth, please stick around for a while

Amazing what happens when you play your best players, play to win, try to score more than one and accept the fact that attack is the best form of defense when you have a shlt back 4...... it ain't rocket science
