because the PL is getting predictable and boring.
=======
It's always been predictable and boring thanks to the greed of Spurs and United in getting the PL in the first place
In the early days of the PL United dominated, in the late 90s, early 00s it was always Arsenal and United 1&2, in the mid-late 00s it was Chelsea and United 1&2, and for now it's City and United 1&2. For 6 years running we had the same teams finishing top 4.
It's not anymore boring that it was 5, 10 or 20 years ago, people are only saying its boring because it's not their teams involved. No Arsenal or United fan ever complained when they were effectively a duopoly and due to the CL money were able to pay the highest wages and highest transfer fees, but when somebody else comes along with more financial muscle everybody wants to cry wolf.
Football is either a business or it's a sport, you can't have it both ways
Good morning! :D
I love how Hafi a clue post something he thinks supports his argument but actually demonstrates the opposite!
Sadly it's pretty difficult to argue with someone this obtuse x
So 8am Sunday morning the vote stands like this
In favour of ffp 75%
Against ffp 18%
Not bothered 7%
Don't think this needs any comment.
Except to say if we were the Premier League clubs then 15 want it so it would be passed.
The only ones that are in all probability against the FFP are teams like United, Chelsea and City who between them have been carving up the transfer market, the first two for years, and the latter team for the past couple. Anything that remotely smacks of fairness I guess would not be tolerated, after all this is the premiership.
Sandy Brown, United are desperate for the FFP to be vigourously enforced, their huge turnover means they would be completely untouched by them. Its the subsidised teams who will suffer unless they pull in their spending.
The only ones that are in all probability against the FFP are teams like United
..............................
Which United?
I don't think we have spent even our earnings in a few year period on wages and transfers let alone go over that. I suspect you don't fully understand the FFP rules sandy.
Obviously for the ffp, it just makes football boring having clubs with owners with unlimited wealth who can just buy whoever they want and pay them as much as they like without it affecting the clubs finances what so ever.
The likes of Tottenham have been badly affected in recent years by the sugar daddy clubs, they would have broken into the top 4 through being well managed rather than the keep throwing money at it until it works approach.
We could even have the likes of Newcastle competing now but the sugar daddy clubs killed that..
For footballs sake lets hope they do enforce FFP, it seems to be what the majority of football fans want [at least on ja606 but I don't imagine it would be different with football fans at large]
huh sandy?? united want it enforced......and it doesn't matter because it's coming!

Wow, a forum that's dominated by rags and gooners have voted for protectionist rules.
I'm reeling with shock.
two words Boris
Tick Tock
How do you work out that Man Utd wouldn't want it Sandy - it's exactly what they would want.
It would return them to being the 'Master Race' they've always craved to be, the PL would go back to being a one horse race again and in five years time we'll all be on here debating what sheite idea FFP was, because the PL leagues is so boring because Man U win it every year!
Lets be honest with ourselves here Inky... to get those kind of figures you would need a hell of a lot more than just United and Arsenal fans voting in favour of it...
What we can clearly see is that voting against the ffp doesn't extend very far beyond the fan bases of Chelsea and City fans, which is no surprise really as they are the only ones to benefit from FFP not coming in.
United were the master race?!
Too much mien kampf before bedtime is not good for you Brummie...
Don't think we ever dominated before... we were just competing against actual football clubs rather than billionaires play things.
Spurs fans who vote in favour of ffp are just morons
What u should be voting for is a wage cap.
Please dont think that ffp will allow spurs to take on he big guns... It wont you will still be where u are now it will hinder you more thab help you.
You all seem to just be taking the the ffp rules and then re working them to delude yourselves that it will help your club. Its pathetic and sad that you hold onto hope that football will become fair
Get real the FFP will not make an ounce of difference.
Are you so stupid to work out that roman abramovich has voted in favour of FFP and is one of the main advocates for it. Why on earth would he do that if we didnt have a work around.
The delusion is so sad how can people comment on things they no nothing about.
Pathectic ignorance at its finest
of course it suits United but it also is total sense, it cant be good for football for clubs to cause massive inflation having no regard at all to sound financial management. The really big test is going to be how strict they will be on "fair value" for sponsorship by related parties.
The other thing which no one has considered is the power of the big clubs (and no City and Chelsea , I don't mean you). If the FFP are not enforced in accordance with the wishes of the power houses then they, Madrid, Barca, Milan , Bayern, Ajax, United, Juventus etc can just say ok, goodbye UEFA good luck, we are going to have our own competition , anyone is welcome but you abide by our rules and the subsidised clubs are not welcome. This is exactly how the money spinning champions league was born, pressure was put on UEFA to do what the big clubs wanted or they would have broken away.
A breakaway would allow the top clubs and any other unsubsidised clubs (Spurs, Newcastle, Liverpool, Arsenal etc.) to carry on as normal. As for the sugar daddy clubs, they could just play each other, but don't expect the top players to want to play PSG, Zenit and Azhi every seaspn.
Toby I assume this is all because Chelsea under Abromovich are super sustainable and cover all the transfer fees and wages of their players without Roman ever needing to dip into his pocket...
Whereas that Levy [actually it is someone else who owns it, but lets stick with Levy as I know his name] guy is always dipping into his pocket to help fund Spurs outrageous spending and helping to cover their huge wage bill.
*Warning! sarcasm above*
Siempre, you must have sunstroke if you think any breakaway league wouldn't include the present PL and European champions but would welcome the generally potless likes of Ajax and the Italian clubs.
Lowest fo of wit arab
I just think that people who are saying that chelsea are not a big club are doing so out of jelousy
Weather you like it or not we are a global brand current champions of europe and. Roman is an advocate of ffp so therefore he is in board with letting the big clubs get bigger.
Please dont be so ignorant to think that uefa want the likes of chelsea out of champions league.
Like it or not chelsea are amongst the elite in football now.
If we are talking in terms of fanbase then a few Italian clubs and the likes of Ajax would be picked well ahead of the likes of Man City...
Boris, why would the big clubs want the subsidised clubs, a break away league would be fine without the likes of City, Chelsea, Zenit and Anzhi. TV audiences would not care if those clubs were not in a new league. All their fans added together dont amount to half the fans of either Madrid or United. Uefa would not survive without United, Madrid, Barca, Bayern , Milan and Juve. The money may be with the rich clubs but the power lies elsewhere.
Arab and what about the glibally recognised chelsea
Or are u ignoring that to suit your own deluded view
If we are talking in terms of fanbase then a few Italian clubs and the likes of Ajax would be picked well ahead of the likes of Man City...
Really? I don't think I've ever seen an Ajax shirt outside of Holland and I doubt anyone in the Far East know anything about them.
I think you get what I meant Arab.
And how can you say you haven't dominated the PL? In the 20 years since the PL was formed Man Utd have won it 12 times. The only thing that has stopped it being 16 out of 20 was Chelsea winning it 3 times and City once.
I totally understand you wanting things to return to how they were - but please don't try and insult my intelligence by saying it would be a level playing field with FFP!
If I was a Spurs fan I'd support ffp. Clubs like city with nothing about them except for the ability to spend someone else's money like water create massive transfer and inflation.
Other clubs will have a chance to prosper and succeed organically under ffp through good management. Without ffp? Forget it, how do you compete with someone who'll buy 5 30m players a season and put them on 200k a week? You don't.
So you're only way to the top is the lazy way, get someone to give you a billion quid. Then you can have a mini billionaires oil league and give the trophy to the one who spent the most.
City seem to want complete laissez-faire in football, it's all a bit 'Im alright Jack'
Hmm I never said Chelsea were not a big club for starters...
Roman being an advocate of them means very little when Chelsea spend more on transfers and wages than they make from supporters, sponsors and whatever else they make their money from..
Whereas Spurs tend to spend what they earn.
Given that the FFP limits you to spending what you earn then it is fairly obvious it will benefit the club that already spends within its means more than the one who doesn't.
It is just common sense really.
Also I did not say Chelsea were not part of the European elite, you need to stop confusing the discussing off the FFP rules with insulting Chelsea...
