Wire complaining about the ref is a bit of let down...if you win easily will you still complain about childs ?

more chance of a win with Childs than Silverhino

Great stuff that silverhino comment. How do you think em up?
You will be encouraged to hear he's the video ref.

WE ALL LOVE REFS

Its a consequence of a well developed brain.......little effort involved just a little lubrication applied from the inside............Talisker preferably. I think "great" just a touch too respectful but I can see where you're coming from. Video Ref offers great posibilities for a penalty try or two.

can only now hope for a few contentious decisions to go against the wire.....with any luck costing them the game.

If you know a ref is happy to award penalties adjust your game and keep your discipline. Referees can't give penalties if the players keep it clean.

the problem with ur analysis is that would mean fans had to accept it was the players who r the problem and not the refs.

Surely all fans who watch without rose tinted specs realise this?

posted on 26/5/11

yes, ur right, the problem there, and im sorry to keep pointing out these things, is the lack of fans without rose-tinted specs.

The problem is the inconsistancy off the reffs, ok there will always be fans who want to blame them but look how many league coaches have complained this season even to the point of being fined by the rfl.

Perhaps this new incarnation of 606 will see less blinkered opinion! (fat chance) The fact is that players make far, far more mistakes in a game than the officials. Of course refs are human and get it wrong from time to time, but not consistently and certainly not maliciously, as some suggest.

i dont see the refs as inconsistent at all.

maybe what u want is for all refs to be exactly the same wireblood??

thats an impossibility , what with them being human beings etc.

better to start with telling ur players not to cheat etc.

That does not answer the question what has made so many coaches say the same thing, also try reading some of the league papers there are well respected journalists asking the same question,

There are some differences in interpretation by individual refs. Stuart Cummins and the RFL need to work on that. However each ref has his own "style", just like the players. Players and coaches see the same refs week in week out and should be able to anticipate how each game will be officiated and sort their game plan accordingly. Thierry Alibert, for example, generally gives a shorter 10 at the PTB.

Ok back to my origonal point childs blows to many penalties and slows the game down I mean come on the guy can blow over 30 times in a game that is not "style" and again it is not me being blinkered or wearing rose tinted specs it is,respected people in and out of the game saying the same thing

u reckon childs just blows his whistle at random??

or maybe he sees a bit of cheating or foul play??

u reckon maybe if players didnt actually engage in cheating or foul play then childs whistle would be less active??

just a thought.

A giant among men, I couldn't agree more mate.

The refs are the fans easy way out and the perfect scapegoat as to why their team, who missed 34 tackles and commited 12 handling errors, lost the game....

posted on 26/5/11

Wire, many games have over 25+ pens in them mate its not unique to Childs.

posted on 26/5/11

Not just talking about the fans, somebody tell me what and why the coaches and other people in the know say the same thing.

posted on 26/5/11

they r trying to deflect the attention from their lack of ability and their players lack of discipline etc etc.

come on wire, this aint science mate.

stop trying to take the easy road and blame the real problem, players and coaches

posted on 26/5/11

Im not saying that the players and coaches are saints, Briers complains, leeds throw forward passes, wigan lie on too much etc.. etc.. just that the refs are bad and this season it seems more obvious that Cummings and the rfl need to do something about it, and its not just me saying it.

posted on 26/5/11

well, not everyone agrees.

we do seem to agree that players are cheating though and lack discipline, which makes refs jobs even more difficult.

what are the learned hacks and fans saying about that???
