Is T20 the highest level of cricket?
Well done on your victory, good luck in the tournament.
I didn't feel the need to put the boot in Dunc and start mentioning Test Match (Ashes) cricket or even a recent ODI whitewash mate.
Good luck to your team in the main event too.
Happy for Andy Murray?
Now all that is left is for a whitewash in next years Ashes series.
lol Adot, I am not sure if we will whitewash them, but the Australian fans must be very worried about the state of their cricket
Have you noticed how much we like bowling at Warner? He seems to be slapping everybody around everywhere he plays and then we send him to the pavilion for 0 yet again.
Just get a genuine quick bowler to bowl a decent ball at him and the rest is easy.
Can't wait to see what happens next summer. I think we're probably better in tests than we are in limited overs cricket. Don't expect overly much in this tournament as Australia haven't been good in T20 since it was brought in.
Totally overjoyed for Murray, watched the whole thing live after work, was a great match.
Now that England are not number, I reckon they'll perform better in next years Ashes than if they were number 1. I can see England winning 3-0 ish... Australia just don't look it. They have very good seam bowlers, but they're inexperinced.
I tried to stay up and watch the match dunc but collapsed after the second set and at that point I thought he was strolling to an historic victory. As it turned out he had a tough battle and that probably makes his win even more sweet.
He is my vote for SPOTY, and by a country mile. And for the first time in my life I will pick up the phone and ring my vote in, for him.
I will predict 3:1 Adot. Even when we were playing some good test match cricket against Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia, South Africa, generally we seem to have 1 test match where we completely capitulate.
This is not including the 2 series where we got murdered
Australia are undefeated in a series since we lost the Ashes, new blood has been brought in and some underperformers, Johnson and North, have been replaced. Batting is still a worry but there is still some solidity in the middle order with Hussey and Clarke.
England haven't been up to much in tests since they beat India and the key bowler for England in the tests you won in the Ashes has barely played since. Anderson is still an extremely strong bowler, but the other bowlers are not up to his calibre.
Fair comment Dunc and for you sake I hope we get a cracking Ashes series mate. 2:2 would give us all the highs and lows that we need to really appreciate and enjoy top level sport. I would love that result.
Andersen, Broad, Finn, Bresnan. We will be ok bud
It will be cracking, no matter the result.
No games will be played at Edgbaston. I just don't get that. The greatest game Cricket has ever produced was played their and we get stipped of hosting a game in the Ashes.
Does seem very sad that Adot. Do we know why they won't be playing there?
Well the venues for the Ashes were chosen a while ago. And, they just simply decided not to choose Edgbaston. Don't know why. I know they stripped Cardiff as a venue, which was a good thing, but didn't understand stripping Edgbaston. Was it because of the rain?
england beat aus and pak beat india. man im buzzing!!
Good win for us today, glad to see the younger lads stepping up. Pietersen who?
Have we heard any more news on KP? Last I heard Captain Cook was trying to do a bit of peace keeping and get him back in the team.
Either way, we will do fine and certainly don't need him.
Last I heard cook really wants him for the tour of India. But he'll probably need to Bury his own ego for that which I can't see happening any time soon.
To be honest Jimbobo I have already begun to enjoy life as an England cricket fan without him.
He is undoutedly a tremendous player but you have to admit he is a pain in the backside?
He got the captaincy and then lost that in a record time, which kind of says it all about the man.
I like the new lads we are using and hope to god that Taylor can become an excellent cricketer for us.
As a cricket fan, I miss looking forward to seeing his innovation and sheer arrogance when he's in full flight.
As an England fan, I'd rather not have somebody potentially disruptive around the dressing room especially when team cohesion is such a key philosophy for this team.
I'm looking forward to seeing Jos Buttler announce himself at this tournament. He's built for this format.
