Bales - Agree, I though Naughton had a good game, for a debut. He was solid, apart from a 10 minute spell when he fouled McCleary twice, and his composure on the ball looked good.
As much as I BAE, he normally gives me 1 heart stopping moment each match.

The competition for the place will be good for him.

just watched it

nice guy but a liar when asked about Harry v AVBs training he said Harry was old skool so it was just set piece training then forwards v defenders and then a game at the end???

Set piece training??

To be fair I just said the other day I thought Walker was a bit of a , he looks like a chaav but thats made me think twice he seems decent enough doesnt he?

After 4 years of never seeing the Manager on the training pitch AVB must be a bit of a shock to all the guys .......

Messiah - I had the same perception, from seeing him on the pitch he seemed so full of himself I thought he was a proper Chaav but this has changed my opinion of him.

Set-piece training I forgot that part!

He seems a humble chap, easy not to see that if you just see him on the pitch

Yeah, Naughton did okay - but as i said on another thread (or 2), he was conceding quite a few freekicks in dangerous places, perfect for an inswinging free-kick that are so difficult to defend against.

But for someone who got thrown in there with very limited training with the team & players, he did very well. I'm never that sure about a right footed left back (& vice-versa) but he did quite well, albeit against lesser opposition.

Both Kyles = £8m - looks to be quite good business, doesn't it?

Never, Kyle to me look like the type of guy that has amazing physical attributes and the brain to make them work for him. Id have described him as kaizen... Continuous improvement.

Chicken - £8m for both is looking like a steal. Hopefully Naughton can grab his chance in the 1st team the same way Walker has.
I think the bit of pressure this could put on BAE will make him raise his game, as he seems to be too casual at the moment for me.

Or want to leave. Lets hope its the former.

Naughton will need to cut out the silly fouls around our box though - that was beginning to worry me on Sunday.

I know it was his first game, and i'll bear that in mind, but i'm hoping it is just that & not becuse he is a RB out of position at LB - which we know is the case, we just dont want it looking like it.

Can anyone remember who we, in effect, stole them off, as in what club originally bid for them, before we nipped in & took both?

Anyone remember?
