I thought it was a brilliant performance, and we were wrongfully denied the win we deserved.
It's a joke, football should be a level playing field but you don't see these decision happening to Utd for example. It makes you sick that refs aren't punished.
Great to get the clean sheet, they are a tough team to play against, shocking ref/lino decisions denying us.
Why can't we take a decent set piece? <>
On the train home now, actually really impressed with verts and caulker tonight, caulker is very good on the ball and looks very comfortable at this level, also gives a cb who can dominate in the air which gallas cant do, i actaully think gallas is important to us and dont buy into his critics on here, but really impreesed with cb pairing tonight, though it was a solid performance against a good side

I know we had some really good positions tonight, but somehow we never seem to quite put in the really telling crosses, the Caulker goal apart.

The answer is just to easy
also thought our set pieces were better tonight, bale put some good balls in from set plays
I thought we threatened more from set pieces tonight than we did the whole of last season all combined.
OK, good positive vibes tonight. Now let`s give QPR a good roasting.
Yes, I am very happy that we did not let in a late goal, like we usually do!
And yes, you can argue we wuz robbed of the Dempsey goal by the ref.
But ..... we should have won anyway.
Frankly, I blame AVB.
The team ain't a team, yet.
Its ten players trying to find each other.
Far too many passes were going astray. Balloon passes to right wing left the poor sod out there at the mercy of their defenders.
I dont think I saw a one-two that worked. Slow slow slow.
No vision.
And when you see a pass back to the goal keeper from inside the opposing half, well .......you just know Lazio's defense has your number.
The foul on Bale should have been a sending off, it was deliberate.
All in all, I do not think we'll win this cup under AVB.
Ted i saw Quire a few one-two's come off not least the one where Defoe put Lennon through on goal, where Lennon should have shot rather than cross it for Bale. There would have been a lort more if our players were not fouled before they could pick up the return ball.
We are still a work in progress but I was pleased with what I saw tonight.

I agree we were fouled up by the Itis, and the ref should have been a lot stricter.
Also, Lennon is the most frustrating player on the pitch, and always has been. I'm just wondering why AVB hasn't figured out how to do without him.
Ted
Lennon had an excellent game, I don`t know what game you were watching, he continually went past defenders, and they continually hacked him down.
redrob is talking sense there, he usually does to be fair to him

Redrob i think the only person on here that doesnt want to accept AVB on here tonight is Ted, the rest of us our happy with the performance.
I am very happy with AVB. As Decspur said, it is only Ted that is moaning about AVB, and I have yet to hear him ever say anything positive about Spurs, so not particularly worried about his opinion.

I would not want anyone to "worry" about my opinion.
And I do hope that when the team goes to Rome that AVB has managed to turn it into a team .... a unit that can pass the ball thru that Lazio defense.
And I hope we get a better referee.... we're gonna to need it.
If I have one criticism of AVB last night it's that he should have introduced Huddlestone for if persisting with two wingers - a bit better distribution to them and the option of a quick switch may have given us a bit more joy.
Decent overall, without being spectacular. Dempsey's 'goal' was marginal, easy to see why offside was given. Bale 100% offside for Defoe's. Caulker's wasn't much but he did have his hands on their man so made it easy for the ref - would have been given in England but not in Europe as expected. Lennon was the worst decision for me - absolutely nailed-on penalty.
Funny how we all see it. I thought it was pathetic hoe Vaulkers goal wasn't given his hands were up to they didn't collide. I didn't think the Zlennon incident was a penalty.
European Refs are a strange breed , but that aside you must feel pretty upbeat about the team performance.
