Pavel Nedved / Patrick Swayze is quite a good lookalike, now I come to think of it.
I remember a really good interview with Veron a year or two ago in which he said he was still occasionally in touch with Scholes, whom he also referred to as 'el colorado'.
Some of them are pretty self-explanatory ('Karate' for Nigel de Jong) but I really like the ones that come out of leftfield, e.g. Churrasco de Víbora (Viper Steak) for John O'Shea. Have I missed some cultural reference?
Saw article earlier. Fave was Jonathon 'El Inspector' Spector.
Sign up to Guardian's Fiver. They come out with some good one's e.g. EBJT (Terry), Stevie Mbe (Gerrard) & Petit Pois (Hernandez)
Correction Terry is now EBLJT (England's Brave & Loyal JT)
quality article
With the Rooney reference is it meant to be something to do with being a "star" or is a literal reference to astroboy?

My brother and I have actually called Nedved Patrick Swayze for years. Not only do they look alike, but they both have the same strut aka the Swayze swagger.

It's often the way with lookalikes: when you suddenly see it, you wonder why you never noticed before.
By the way, I had to edit the article because ja606 detected a forbidden word. In modified form (since it only resembles the word they wanted to forbid):
Guti - s h a g g y
A commentator here in Spain nicknamed Xavi "Humphrey Bogart" cause his style of football was like Bogie's famous line from Casablanca:
"Play it again Sam"
