Totally agree with the above assessment by AR, extremely balanced. Canioman drives me, and many others, to distraction...sweeping and often unfathomable changes before games, tends to have his favourites and neglects players who were at the club before him. His man-management is questionable to say the least.

That said his commitment and passion is total and he won't tolerate anything other than that from those around him. Above all in my opinion he's as much a 'winner' now as he was as a player and that's worth a lot.

I'm sure he'll move on and up, he's certainly learnt a lot since he started with us but I think he's still got a fair way to go up the learning curve.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

Depends whether you want a democracy or dictatorship. We are not in a position to choose. You might be.
If the DiC went up there, I wouldn't be unhappy. We have a base to work from, maybe due to his efforts. But he has caused so much controversy that I wonder if it was worth it.
I can't doubt his passion for the game, but I think his ego wants to make it Canio club, not Swindon Town.
His signings for us have been less than good, so he knows sod all about picking a player. But, he will make them sweat it out in training.
If he did go to Bolton, then, if I were a fan there, I would be worried that any decent players you have there would be on their bikes.

If I could go forwards in time and look back to after he has eventually left us, I may say, idiot, nutter, controversial, dictator, perfectionist, deeply emotional, only wants the best or I might say flawed misunderstood genius.Take your pick, he swings like a pendulum, and you never know which man you are going to get. One thing you can say is, he carry s the supporters with him, along a roller coaster ride of controversy and the search for perfectionism. However, some players invariably get their noses snapped and their toes pinched and are constantly reminded, my way or the highway. he carries no passengers and takes no prisoners.

Call him what you will , Canioman is an enigma, a code all of his own.

Bottom line is:
He got us promoted out of Div 2 last year. But, IMO any other reasonable manager could have done the same.
I can't question his record with us, but my gut feeling is that he is too big for his boots.
But then, I am an old git, what do I know?
