THE TATICS ARE ALL WRONG

Bit extreme.

OK - things aren't as they should be, and yesterday was poor, but it's not all a lost cause - not yet.

I didn't think the performance was that bad, its just that we can't score for toffees (now that's an idea that might work Robbo ).

You also haven't looked at the previous games Ron. We do now have a Plan B, which is playing three at the back and two up front. It might have worked as well if we had strikers who are willing to gamble.

In my opinion you should not be playing one up front at home.
If you are going to play one up front then he MUST be an out and out goalscorer, and I am afraid Smith isnt a goalscorer and hasnt been for some years.
If you play one up front you have to have goal scoring midfielders.

What I have noticed is we dont shoot from distance, yet other teams score long range goals against us.
We havent got a free kick taker, who can score, against the run of play.
We cant score from corners, to be honest corners for us are a waste of time.

Also listening to Robinson on Dons World, he doesnt seem over confident we can get any players in.

I sat in the East Stand second half for the first time since the Carlisle game (When we looked alright) and got a better view of the game.

I must praise Robbo for the triple substitution. Deffo needed to be changed there and then as we were never going to get back into the game, and we looked better afterwards. Mourinho often got praised for that sorta thing (Like a double substitution after 20 minutes against Fulham once) and Karl deserves the same, at least he tried to change things.

A problem is is that it looks like there are players who don't want to play for us. And I think it's well documented who they are now, everyone is quick to jump on Karl's back, but they easily forget that having players who don't want to be here is a problem as well as the system. You won't have a great team if you have 3 or 4 players who aren't happy here.

I'm beyond the point of blaming our strikers now. Being one of Jabo's biggest critics, seeing him score goals has happily made me change my opinion that maybe it's not the strikers' fault. Put Charlie MacDonald into Colchester's team, or Swindon, or Preston, or Crewe (Team's we've seen this season who create chances) and he'd score, even last year when we created chances up untill Christmas he and Jabo were firing them in. Ryan Lowe's record speaks for itself. As does Bowditch's. As does Charlie's, and Powell's. Charlie rarely gets clear cut chances, ie, oppertunities to shoot from inside the box, neither does anyone else but everyone is quick to slate him! But it's everyone else's problem too! We need to make oppertunities, and make the most of them! I don't think we're in danger of anything drastic the way some fans are behaving (Rightfully voicing opinions, but sometimes over exaggerated) but at the minute we are certainly not an automatic promotion side.

I will be at Crawley on Tuesday evening, and should we win that, I'll be a happy confident lad again. But should we lose....Without saying I want it to happen, it wouldn't suprise me if I woke up in the following morning to read a horrible headline regarding our managers position. And I mean that. Hope I'm wrong mind.

In Robbo I trust.

I have been critical of the tactics, but I don't think Robbo is soley to plame.

He brought in Ray Harford and Ian Wright but I can't see what they have brought to the party.

If it has been to convince the new players to join they might L2 or Blue Square.

The things I do blame Robbo for is
a) Getting too many midfielders
b) Letting the Loanees go without a recall in the contract
c) Hiring too many injured oplayers looking for 1st team football rather than young players who would be keen to take thier chance
d) Playing the same tactics as last year so that everyone now knows how to play MK Dons.

Lost a bit in the middle, it should have said "If it has been to convince the new players to join they might as well not bothered. I think Winkie should get shot of both of them and let Robbo get some young players in from L2 or Blue Square

For me it all boils down to the fact we haven't got any real pace without Daniel and Chicko, especially at front; we aren't good at converting chances; only Chadders is good enough to link play and neither him or Smith are goal takers; we are too predictable and can't seem to play the ball behind their defenders (and even then MacDonald and Lowe can't get past the defender).

Agreed Maccer. I'm at a loss to why our strikers get so much stick. We create NO chances. What are they supposed to do?

Something has to change, because at the moment we can't go through, around, or over a defence for toffee. We certainly can't fall back on set pieces...

Thats the same problem as last season, but its one Robbo didn't address. He keeps getting old midfielders instead of young strikers. Perhaps he nrrds to find out who is supplying the crosses to Jabo and bring him back with Jabo when the loan ends

Sanchez Watt, on loan from Arsenal

is this a fact or a rumour?

He's on loan to Colchester!!

If they have sent him back because they think Jabo is better, why would MK Dons want him when they loaned out Jabo?

posted on 22/10/12

I meant Sanchez Watt is supplying he passes to Jabo.

So Robbo could have had him on loan and he could have supplied the balls to Jabo.

If only Arsenal had him down as a Midfielder Robbo would have snapped him up

KR has been found out. It was John Gorman who was the mastermind behind the way the Dons played last season, since JG has left our performance has been well below par.

posted on 22/10/12

It wasn't just John. It was John and Robbo, they were a perfect managerial pairing. And Robinson looks a bit lost without him, a Peter Taylor/Clough type of situation. Robbo and John both stood on the touchline together, and you could see they personally had a good relationship which helped.

I think Robinson and Harford get on well football wise, training pitch etc, but are they the type who'd go out for a drink together, and visit each others families like JG's relationship with Robbo was? Which does help! Robbo looks lost on the touchline without John and I think he's afraid to say he misses him.

I really feel sorry for Robbo, he keeps reminding us he's still learning, which he is and always will be! So the 'lack of help' or communication that JG had with him looks to be having an effect. I always have and always will trust Robinson!

I just cant believe we didnt go for Mcleod when he was available for nothing. I know he has his faults but he knows where the goal is and he still lives in MK.So instead we go for Lowe who is too similar to Mcdonald and is pushing 34. Also why keep moaning about a small squad and loan out Flannagan,Jabo,Baldock and Collins(who played fot the first team 2 years ago and has been on loan ever since). We need some answers quickly or its league one again next year

posted on 22/10/12

Robbo spoke out the other day about McLeod saying he couldn't afford him, but I don't think he wanted him tbh

posted on 22/10/12

Couldnt afford him!!! How much was he on at Barnet last year? Agree he just missed the boat and got Lowe instead

posted on 22/10/12

So Portsmouth who are almost in administration can afford McLoud and we cant.
Thought we got a few bob for Baldock.

Robbo spent the money shoring up the midfield with old men coming back from injury.

What is Hartford doing for his money?

Good news... According to Sky News - Balanta is on his way back for an initial 1 month load with a view to longer
