Lanza - this team does.
I always believe we can get something out of the games with the fighting spirit we have.

Well, what a great win, but I do think that JR and his buddies have goy to look to releasing a little bit of money for Dean to expand the squad. Injuries are going to take their toll and we need strength in depth. What more does he have to do to get them to back him?

I agree NY. In a way it's been good to have the small squad because it's been easier for the team to gel, but injuries could destroy a very promising start. If the board can see their way to backing Dean in the loan market as necessary to get us through the next couple of months that would be great. If we are still in the mix in January, then sensible (not reckless) investment could give us a chance of promotion with the financial rewards that would follow.

At last, happy enough to post. What a great win & with determination to bounce back in the final minutes, unlike last season.Looks like we have a manager & a TEAM.-

Winning again is a really pleasant feeling after the last 2 years.

Well said Stanton.

My point exactly Crazy, if we were to get promotion it would bring us the 4 million back which we lost ( TV revenue), and then, our Chief Exec can go out and do what his predecessor didn't and bring in new investors who would finance a team in the Championship.

We don't need millions, just enough to at least let Dean sleep a bit easier at night.

This team that Deano has put together certainly seems to have the balls for a fight.

Still think it's too soon to go back up, we probably need a year of rebuilding then go for it next season, but it's fun anyway & great to be talking about the top end rather than the bottom!

In the last 2 1/2 seasons we'd have been dead & buried at 1-1, only one team would've had the nerve to go for the win! But times have changed, we now score at the end of either half!

I really do worry about the quality of the BBC's reporting. They have just put up an initial report about the match. They correctly quote the score: Tranmere 1 - 2 Doncaster - but them they go on to describe Doncaster Rovers as the home side - WHAT???????????????

I haven't heard the interview yet but someone on the VSC forum is saying DS has said Quinn will be out for 3-4 weeks and Cotterill has quite a bad strain and definitely won't be available for Saturday. Better news re Husband who only had cramp. So the squad is being stretched pretty thin already.

I assume Martin Woods must have been injured tonight given he wasn't even on the bench?

What a start to my day........ managed to stay awake up untill half time, but had to go and sleep.
Excellent news to wake up to... RTID

Copied from the BBC website this morning;

"Iain Hume bagged an injury-time winner as Doncaster inflicted a second straight defeat on previously unbeaten Tranmere in League One.
Billy Paynter had put the home side ahead shortly after the break when he took the ball down and poked into the far corner.
Jake Cassidy looked to have secured a point for Rovers three minutes from time when he fired in a low shot.
But Hume sent the hosts into sixth place with his late close-range strike."

Crazy,
I see what you mean about the BBC reporting. It has gone down hill in recent times.

No problem Somerset. Perhaps the BBC isn't really too bothered about League 1 and below so doesn't bother to check its facts.

A mate of mine who's a forest fans just told me last night when billy sharp scored he celebrated by taking a chomp out of a fans hot dog

Just listened to Ronnie Moore on Tranmere's player, sick as a dog, maybe sick as a hot dog Azza,he can't beleive they lost, but then neither can we. What is annoying is that he gave us no crdit for stifling their play and doing what we had to do. How many toimes does Dean say that clubs will come and try to stop us at home, well guess what, that exactly what we did. We didn't do it by fouling either, no bookings foor a change.

Get over it Ronnie, the better team lost, but the team that wanted to win, did.

Azza, Sharpie did some good celebrations after his goals for us.
Remember the bench press one with the other players acting as gym equipment?
It is great to be winning games again.
As for Ronnie Moore bleating, tough Ronnie.
We have lost in the past when we have been the better team.
Thats football.
Thats why we are all infatuated by it, great game.

newyankee,

Some Tranmere fans are not like their manager, one says they have had a bit of luck this season and it has run out, another giving our defence credit so they aren't all biased.
