I'd be gutted if they took one of our star players.

This cannot happen. Sell him to Pompey , Not Florist!

Forest are welcome to him.

look Sherry

up until his injury we were going great guns.... It was no coincidence that Derby fall down the league coincided with Leacocks injury.

Behave man! We only have one class player at our club

I don't think McClaren reads this site, you can stop pretending now.

Maybe it's a cross-border cultural exchange? As Leacock was the real instigator of the flag-gate saga they're just trying to dilute bad feelings. It's all leading up to a merger we'll be playing at the CG in 5 years with red shirts, black shorts and a team full of old Forest players.

He is a class defender. When he farts the ball moves 50 yards

Since when was Leacock one of our star players?

He can be a solid defender at times, but if Clough doesn't want him then I won't shed too many tears over it.

Reckon he should go Pompey - They'll give him a 12 year contract on 40 grand a week!

Wonder if they want Bywater aswell....

Sherry?......cute

I have a lovely word association whenever I hear or read 'Bywater', it's a commentators voice saying 'Bywater didn't even sniff that!' with reference to Majewski's goal against the sheep at the city ground two years ago, that bullet in the top right 2 mins into the game. Oooof! I'm off to watch it again on youtube.

If a manager could motivate Leacock I think he'd be an excellent player; is very solid at the back when on form, good tackler and can pass the ball, I had high hopes for him last season but it seems that when the going gets tough Deano stops, gets injured or bravely runs away like brave, brave, brave Sir Robin.

Everyone tune in now to East Midlands today...

You'll see a Derby supporter caught without a seat belt being told he can either take a £60 fine or watch a 3minute DVD

3 minutes to show 5 goals?

ah... it was Leicestershire.... mind you, they should try it in Derby

I would say if Leacock came to Forest he would want to prove NLN wrong and every time he played, put in 110%. He would relish playing in a team like ours and bring himself up to the standard of the reds. Sign him up!

Woodendred,

Don't know about that. Leacock, I think, had the chance to go to Hull on loan. Maybe he didn't want to be living out of a suitcase, but Hull are a good club with a good manager and he had the chance then to get his career on track.

As one of our better wage earners, he hasn't done a lot to justify this. I was a fan of his, but I would not be sorry to see him leave or join you.

For the love of Brian Clough, NO!

Leacock is not good enough. Did you lot (those that want to sign him up) watch him play last year in the games against us? He is rubbish and painfully slow a foot. He will get shredded.

CapnBob.

I appreciate your comments and have to say you would know a lot more about the guy than me. But the Derby fans I know, see him as a solid defender who over the years has been fairly consistent and I think through one or two bad performances was vilified by Clough publicly and because of this never really had his heart in playing for you guys. This maybe incorrect but from an honest Forest point of view I feel he would strengthen our squad.

Tricky in Texas, anyone would look painfully slow against Tyson, especially a hungry Tyson on form. the guy was being played right back when he's a centre half, it's like playing Big Wes at right back and expecting him to play as well.

Leacock was exactly the same under Davies as under Clough-capable of excellent performances but prone to switching off from time to time, often getting his positioning very wrong and proving costly. He also isn't particularly keen on the rough stuff. There were times early in his career when I thought he was capable of being a very good player but the one quality he absolutely lacks is consistency, and while this can be tolerated in a forward, a defender must be reliable.

I don't wish him ill but as a player I don't think he will be missed. Rigott is a far better player in my opinion, and I also think Anderson a better overall defender.

"capable of excellent performances but prone to switching off from time to time"

Sounds like a perfect replacement for Wilson then!

posted on 22/7/11
