He gets my full backing, even if some fans have already come to the conclusion that he is aweful.
I hope this doesn't turn into a megson type appointment, in the sense where the fans are on his back before he even has the chance to take a training session.
DFSWA!!
100% behind you Dougie lift some light on our long suffering gloom!
hope he hits the ground running need to close that 10 point gap, with games v boro, cardiff, blackburn, blackpool, leicester coming up that will decide whether we will be competing for promotion or not.
Aaron- not much danger of that. Anyone with half a brain knew that Megson was a vile and useless piece of Sheight before he joined us. Only complete idiots (no names lol) thought that Megson failed because fans got on his back.
Nobody thinks that about DF, even if some have reservations, I'm sure he'll be given a fair chance.
Yes lets give him a chance and see what happens.
Also we are still below Derby ...therefore he comes aboard in a megson type situation.
Good Luck Dougie.
Welcome to Bolton Dougie!
Lets hope we can snowball some form in his honeymoon period.

The concept of time is quite funny isn't it?
We thought he was the Ginger Mourinho.

That's some up my attitude perfectly. Doesn't inspire me, but equally, I'm not against him and hope it works out for him and us.

Errr...who's 'we'?
COME ON, DOUGIE!!!
(Very important comma, that one
) Vera that was a very short post.
Yes I know you were just closing the brackets.
My thoughts on DF, are that he is not the experienced guy some of us wanted but hey, he's young, enthusiastic, probably got more going for him than Owen and hopefully got a plan B and possibly a plan C.
We have yet to find out who will be in his management team. Unfortunately we can't decide that, only Gartside and DF. I would like to think that Sammy and Julien might be given a chance. Jimmy might be better staying in charge of the youth set up, although if there is room for the three of them, We have a perfect set up who are looking after the under eighteens who could be promoted.
Just noticed our next three games are against the current top three, might not be such a great start for him.
I keep seeing his name and I keep thinking DOUGAL from Magic Roundabout.
Look: DOUGIE and DOUGAL, very similar.
Looks like I chose the wrong week to quit drinking!
I should've used this example:
Look: dougie and dougle, very similar.

This board should be buzzin' with great anticipation, at the appointment of our new manager .... but there's hardly any excitement or fervour at all ...which makes you wonder if he's the right man for the job .... I hope he's more likeable as a manager than he was as a player LOL. He's obviously keen to join Bolton ....but then, if you're almost at the end of your contract elsewhere, and somebody's offering you a new 3 year one ..on triple your previous wage .... who wouldn't be?
It's certainly a bold (if risky) appointment; He's got far less experience, and less of a record of achievement, than the manager we sacked. No doubt Palace would be below us right now, if they didn't have Zaha ...and he won't be followin' Dougie to Bolton, that's for sure But on the plus side, he's not Souness or Owen Coyle So, do we go with him? Well, we HAVE to ... the deed is done, for better or for worse.
Will gave him a fair crack of the whip. Not over enthused but he is new blood with hopefully new ideas.
Would personally have given JP and co a bit longer.
Anyway welcome Dougie
