It's weird that for most people it seems like we've had a better start.

Because before money men arrived at Chelsea & City, Arsenal were the rivals of Man U and the rest were battling it out for scraps. Nowadays, it's tough to compete without spending billions. Wenger is clearly struggling to maintain his philosophy to buy young players on the cheap whilst the other teams spend vast fortunes on top players. It was inevitable that the club would suffer regardless of how good the manager is. Either Arsenal have a change of philosophy and become a sugar daddy club like Chels or City and risk oblivion or plod along looking to finish 4th every year. One thing's for sure, they have got to stop selling their best players to their direct rivals!!!

Let's not forget that we're only a couple of points behind fourth now whereas last year we were around 8 points off fourth at the same stage.

Difference this time is there aren't any exceptional teams in the league and there have been a lot of draws.

First 10 fixtures season 2011/12:
Newcastle [A]
Liverpool [H]
Man U [A]
Swansea [H]
Blackburn [A]
Bolton [H]
Spurs [A]
Sunderland [H]
Stoke [H]
Chelsea [A]

First 10 fixtures season 2012/13:
Sunderland [H]
Stoke [A]
Liverpool [A]
S'hampton [H]
Man City [A]
Chelsea [H]
West Ham [A]
Norwich [A]
QPR [H]
Man U [A]

There's really not much in it between the start of this season and last regards toughness of fixtures, so no excuses there.

More worrying is the fact that if you replace the keeper and left back from yesterday's line-up, that was probably close to being what Wenger would consider his best XI, and they were routinely beaten by a fairly average Man U side that once more hardly had to break sweat to take all 3 points against us.

Still, chin up eh?
