I would love to see him get it as well. Maybe one more job at a top club in a better league before, just to see how he does?
id have him as the next manager tbh, id much prefer to give ole a chance as someone who knows the club inside out and seems a really promising manager, than get mourinho and have him drag the good name of our club through the mud with his pathetic antics
@toplad
agree and also he can get some solid European experience
my problem with mourinho is that he would not promote the youth and would just buy players
The one thing that Ole would be given is time.
Rarely has a United player under Fergie been loved by the fans the way he is. Obviously scoring the winner in the CL final in added time has helped but he was already a cult figure before that night. That goal certainly cemented his place in the history of the club forever though.
And.....I WAS THERE !!!
Thank you ole for the best night of my life even if it was 13 years ago.

Would love to see it one day.
But sentimentality sometimes takes over. There were periods where Hughes and Bruce were being touted as potential managers of United after they showed some impressive signs of management. Now look at them.
He'd need at least ten years in management to prove he was good enough, in my opinion.

no to mourinho
yes to guardiola but he wouldnt be my first choice, id rather have ole
Think the job is too big for Ole at least for another 5 years
Actuall, perhaps not 10 years, but he certainly needs to show he's capable of managing such a big club.
He'd need at least experience of managing in the CL and the premier league.
Getting a manager on reputation as a player rather than managerial skill is a big risk. As of yet he's not shown the managerial skills worthy to be our next manager.
Hopefully he can though as it would be amazing if he became a great manager for us.
maybe he should become our assistant for a bit

I think we can all agree on this though
NO MIKE PHELAN !!!
Perhaps Nan bread.
But he'd need a lot more experience either way.
I don't think experience is all that.
Mourinho didn't even play the game. Pep went straight in at Barca as his first job and they have done pretty well...
It's whether he would command respect and I think its fair to say that Ole would do at United.

me neither, if he has something special(which it seems he does) he'll make it
as long as he has had a few years at a big club then i'd be happy
I suppose Stretford. But Jose had done great before he went to Porto and then exhibited what he could do with them before he got his first big job at Chelsea.
Pep made a pretty easy transition into the Barca first team but I guess that was a risk as well.
It boils down to whether he is good enough or not. I'm not sure he's shown enough, yet.
Respect can only get you so far if you don't have the skills to succeed.

no more so than ole has at molde, in fact less so
ole guided molde to the clubs first ever league title
I read the same lazy conclusions about Mourinho all the time. They're unfounded and boring. Next I'll be reading the absolute gem... 'he plays boring football'.
Of course he would buy players. I would be amazed if any manager didn't. He would also promote any youth that is good enough. In the past decade or so only Fletcher, O'Shea, Evans and more recently Welbeck and Cleverley have been good enough for the first team. Not one of then is currently guaranteed to start. This idea that all we do is 'promote youth' is folly. We were lucky enough to witness a complete anomaly that will never be seen again at this club for a very long time - Schole Beckham etc. If you're good enough then you'll play. Whether the job goes to Ole, Jose, Pep or Moyes this will remain the same.

Di Matteo is another example. Hardly any experience, sacked by West Brom, yet he took Chelsea to a CL and FA cup double within 5 months.
If the players respect you.....they will play for you.
I reckon Ole should be given his chance when Fergie calls it a day.
ole would be my first choice, without doubt
