RDM should never have been hired in the first place but what could he do? What could he tell the fans if he didn't hire the manager who was in charge when his club won the Champions League? Right decision for me, after a load of wrong one's.

taking rivalries out of it, you cant deny moyes has done an amazing job considering the tight budget he has had.

however is he one of those managers who is destined to only be good at teams like that??

Football management is the best job ever. if you are bad at your job you get a few million pounds for being so bad.

Rafa got sacked from Liverpool £4m pay off
Rafa got sacked from inter £4.5m pay off

£8.5m for failing

I want to be a manager

Other managers have been on a budget and won trophies. He hasn't won a trophy, not one, zilch.

If winning trophies is failing, then yes, that's is true.

DM is not the 'lap dog' type of manager that RA likes.

Some chancer looking for a big payday will take the job. While RA is there, there is no job security at CFC.

I'm with you TOOR. RDM was never the man RA wanted for the lon term (is there a long term at Chelsea??). He was pushed in to a corner by winning the CL. It was only a matter of time before RDM was sacked.

you'll always get your 1 season wonders TOOR, you should know, you won the CC last season

over a period though, he has been consistant.

Exactly. For a manager to be there longterm, longterm for a Chelsea manager that is, he has to be firstly successful, secondly strong, thirdly popular with the players and lastly popular with the fans. Mourinho had all those things but he became too strong and thus Ambramovich didn't like it when he could have a little influence. Guardiola will be the next manager. In a matter of days.

So do no Everton fans think that Moyes is capable of the job?

'So do no Everton fans think that Moyes is capable of the job?'

He could do it, he's not dumb enough to take it.

Why would he be dumb? He might actually win a trophy before he retires.

Are you saying Moyes has no ambition?

If being in a job where you will get sacked for having a minor bad run, even after winning two major trophies recently, have little control of who you buy, and even not have complete control over who plays, and have to bow down to players is unambitious, then yes.

posted on 21/11/12

But he'd at least win a trophy before he retires.

Anyone taking the chelsea job goes in with their eyes open, in the knowledge they have a very generous, impatient, meddling owner, i don't think moyes would accept.

Perhaps Brendan should apply for the Chelsea job so he would understand what running a truly big club is like and also he might also have a chance of winning his first trophy before he is found out

Come on Phil, even you know that not winning trophies means a small club and winning trophies means a big club, well don't you?

what trophies has Brendan won TOOR?

There's an element of risk going into any job is there not? But if you have belief in your capabilities you'd give it a shot wouldn't you? Liverpool have had 4 managers in 4 years, Villa have had 4 managers in 6 years, Spurs have had 4 managers in 6 years. Would Moyes not go for the Spurs job either then if it became available?
