can't argue with anything you said really, very worried and to think we can have Parker for £8m for a few season just beggers belief. We on earth have we spent money on another defender when strong there?? I mean how on earth can he not bring in a midfield player??And then ask the players to catch Barca......My God I hope he has something up his sleeve!!

It is worrying considering that Fletcher doesn't seem to be recovering from this mystery virus

Scott Parker would be a good signing but I can't see him leaving West Ham now due to the fact I think they have a great chance of coming straight back up as they have kept the core of their squad and have bought two very good midfielders who I still can't believe have dropped down a division in Nolan and Taylor. West Ham's midfield is looking better than ours at the minute

I can see Young and Nani playing behind the front two as they can swap positions with relative ease which leaves them free to roam from middle to left and right so it could work but after all the talk of a quality attacking midfielder over the summer, Fergie's comments have worried me

Fergie is one of the best liars. I hope he is lying to us on this occasion.

Is this an wum attempt?

1) We don't have the money.
Yes we have spent in excess of 50m this year but its nothing compared to the size and the reputation of our club.
***********
The financial situation of United is the same as it was before United posters on this board stopped talking about it.

2) Fergie thinks our midfield is fine and plans to play Rooney in THE central position.
*****************
Has he told you this personally?

But a midfield of Carrick, Anderson, Fletcher( We don't know whether he will be fit to play anymore), Cleverley won't be good enough( both in terms of quality and size).
************
It was last season. You forget, Park, Giggs, Young, Gibson, Jones, Nani, Valencia....

3) Fergie trusts the youngsters and feels that the likes of Pogba, Morrison and Tunniclife will step up and set the premier league on fire.
****************
Well he is the manager. Dont you think he knows best? I also doubt very much hat he expecting Pogba and Morrison to step up to the 1st team and replace Scholes

He and Nohlman are the same person.

++++++++++
I have (and others) suspected this but what makes me quite not believe it is that on Sportwitness Red Indian and Nolhman have in-depth conversations with each other. I just won't believe that one person could be that sad and lonely.

"there are plenty of "value for money" deals out there in the market like Sahin to Madrid, Vidal to Juventus"

What "value" is there in frittering away money on non-elite players who will not significantly improve our squad? Sahin? Vidal? You must be Joe King!
it both amuses and astounds me when I see fans insisting we buy some obscure name that no-one has heard of - I suspect they are often motivated simply by the desire to appear knowledgeable about foreign players.

The bottom line is that SAF has ensured that MUFC have beenb, and still are THE dominant force, in spite of the absurd wealth lavished on some of our rivals; we are current EPL champions for a record number of times, and are perennial ECL Finalists with an unparalleled record in the ECL.
We DON'T need to spend money simply to gratify the simplistic desires of those who equate big money spending with success. Hasn't the transfer of Torres to Chelski taught you people anything?

What you mean is 'you' haven't heard of. People have been talking about Sahin all year for his great performances in Dortmund's championship season. There's a reason he has been snapped up by Mourinho's Madrid. I'm afraid he'll go down as one of those very good players we didn't get when they were available on the cheap - like Ozil last year and Sneijder when he went to Inter.

By the way, I don't see how your last paragraph relates to your critique of wanting players 'no one has ever heard of'. You're against getting less well known, cheaper players like Sahin and Vidal because Chelsea spent £50m on one of the world's best known strikers and it didn't work out initially? Are you saying we should never buy players, just use our youth team from now on?

"What you mean is 'you' haven't heard of."

No that is not what I mean; that is merely your assumption - and an erroneous one at that.
Anyone who possesses even the rudiments of the English language will recognise that was a generalism, because I have no doubt the majority of English fans will not have heard of those players, regardless of their status abroad.
Regardless, familiarity or otherwise with these players is not germane to the issue of "value"

Your further comments are simply disingenuous smart-alecisms of the same ilk that really merit no further discussion.

1. You know as well as I do that this isn't about understanding English but a question of whether your generalisation was valid. You assume that others haven't heard of those players but really have no way of knowing that. I in turn assume you personally haven't heard of them and guess that you are representative.

2. I'm not sure whether you understand the word 'disingenuous'. I think the point I make is pretty clear - that your Torres / £50m point is inconsistent with your initial argument. My final question aimed to illustrate the untenable conclusion to which those respective statements led.

3. I'm open to reading your explanation of why I'm wrong. So far all you've done is side-step my argument, with the implication that you have no way of countering it.
