It will be a laugh if Larsson ends your CL campaign

lex no probs mate

Scotcelt. I dont really think there is anything Larsson can tell Malmo that will make a substantial difference. It's a completely different team from one which larson played against. And anyway Malmo will do their homework like we will. It's just newspaper nonsense to stir up trouble,

If the Gers cant put away an average team like Malmo then they dont deserve to be in Europe. Both sides of the OF have been un the UEFA cup final in recent seasons and beating teams like Malmo is meat n drink.

I hold no fears for this tie. The NEXT tie is a completely different kettle of fish where we could face a top side from Italy, Germany, Spain etc...

no we can't

we are in the champions route of qualifying

the champions of those counties don't have to qualify

we could end up with the likes of stum graz, copenhagen or bate borisov if we get into the play off round

Good to hear it Pollocks. But I feared we could meet a 4th place team from one of those countries....

Scotcelt...I've no idea who Daniel Larsson is ...guess he plays for Malmo...any relation to the other one ?

The changes Platini made to favour actual champions has been great . I have been trying to tell people such since. The only problemthat stillremains for the SPL winners (even if we dont reatain the auto route after next season) is playing sides in full swing too early.

Scotcelt...

which is why its important ALL scottish clubs do well in Europe. DU getting knocked out was a shambles ...and doesnt help one iota

I think everyone is going over the top with yday and 2days results. Its the first game of the season, not even in august yet n some tic fans i know are already giving it 'ally to be sacked for xmas', 'advantage celts' etc.

Looking at the games, rangers were posted missing in the first half n could have been a couple down at least. The fact we kept it to one n then should have scored at least 3 in the second half doesnt make me worry too much, at least we created chances.

Hearts look a tidy outfit n will do that to a few teams this season, including celtic. Now compare this with a very poor/average hibs side n it shows that too many people are reading into the results.

As for edu, felt he played well yday. won the ball back a few times from others mistakes and kept possession when we had it. He was better than jig anyway.

Yeah he is a Malmo striker. Not heard of there being any relation so I would be very suprised if there was given the story it would have made.

I know what your saying about the overall coefficient. Infact I used to cheer on ALL sides. I guess the banter level has just got so bad these days that its hard to do so given the gloating given on either side of our big two.

Lex I'm well aware of the familiarity of "larsson" in Sweden. Just wondered if there was a family tie. Clearly not.

Scotcelt...I'd be more than happy to see Sellick get through in the Europa and progress well. Rather they didnt win it tho . Similar with the
Gers...I'd be happy to meet you guys in the Europa final !! and do one over yeez again

I resolve it myself as not wanting to see you do too well in the CL mainly because of what the financial rewards can result in re our domestic rivalry. That said I was happy to see you have a good run in the EL but as you said was a suprised wee general fan in Manchester

I lived in manchester at that time (Stretford) and watched it in the surrounding venues i.e the cycling Velodrome. A great occasion (marred of course by some numpties).

A repeat run in europe would suit me fine

For the record I wasnt actually in Manchester for the game , I live in Australia. Just watched it on the box.

Odd time to be online in Australia just now, is it not?
