Bill Withers, the acclaimed 1970s soul singer behind hits Ain't No Sunshine and Lean On Me has died from heart complications aged 81, his family said.

The singer died on Monday in Los Angeles, the family told the Associated Press.

They described him in a statement as a "solitary man with a heart driven to connect to the world".

"He spoke honestly to people and connected them to each other," the statement said.

Known for his smooth baritone vocals and sumptuous soul arrangements, he wrote some of the 70s best-remembered songs, including Just The Two Of Us, Lovely Day and Use Me.

On Lovely Day, he set the record for the longest sustained note on a US chart hit, holding a high E for 18 seconds.

Although he stopped recording in 1985, his songs remained a major influence on R&B and hip-hop.

His track Grandma's Hands was sampled on Blackstreet's No Diggity, and Eminem reinterpreted Just The Two Of Us on his hit 1997 Bonnie And Clyde.

Lean On Me has recently become associated with the Coronavirus pandemic, with many people posting their own versions to support health workers.

"We are devastated by the loss of our beloved, devoted husband and father," said Withers' family in a statement.

Provincial health experts say they expect COVID-19 could kill 3,000 to 15,000 people in the province over the course of the pandemic, the ramifications of which could last up to two years.

Those revelations were part of modelling projections the province released Friday about the spread of COVID-19 in Ontario.

Donnelly also said the time frame of 18 months to two years is in line with other credible models about the pandemic, which account for the possibility of secondary or tertiary waves.

He did not suggest current restrictions will be in place for that period of time, but later added "we are some way off" from lifting physical distancing policies, especially in densely populated areas like the GTA.

Debenhams, the department store chain, is facing administration for a second time.

The retailer is set to appoint administrators as early next week to protect the company against claims from creditors as it tries to restructure its business.

Debenhams has already closed 22 stores this year and plans to shut a further 28 in 2021.

However, the coronavirus outbreak has ramped up pressure on the firm.

Like much of the rest of the High Street, Debenhams 142 stores are closed.

Although the business is still trading online, it has a large amount of stock which it cannot sell.

Like many big high street stores, Debenhams used to own the freeholds on many of it stores, so didn't have the huge additional costs of leasing, that was until the private equity / vulture capital parasites got involved, sold the freeholds leaving the company with very costly long term leases, and extracted all the value.

Luna (September 19, 1999 – March 10, 2006) also known as L98 or Tsux'iit, was a killer whale (orca) born in Puget Sound. After being separated from his mother while still young, Luna spent five years in Nootka Sound, an ocean inlet of western Vancouver Island.

Although Luna was healthy and his presence in the area attracted international attention, there were concerns that his behavior could endanger watercraft and people. After years of debate, the Canadian Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) authorized an effort in June 2004 to rescue Luna and return him to his pod. The plan was opposed by the Mowachaht/Muchalaht First Nations, who believed Luna was the reincarnation of a former chief. Remaining alone in Nootka Sound, Luna was killed accidentally by a tugboat propeller in March 2006.

Since the winter of 1912 had been so snowy and cold, Guelphites knew that the Speed River would rise in the spring. A portent of things to come arrived around 10:30 p.m. on April 4 when residents of Cardigan Street heard cries of "Help! help!" from the pond above Goldie's Mill. Through the gloom, they espied a man riding down the river on a slab of ice. Refusing to wade ashore, he waited until his frigid raft obligingly floated to the bank. It seemed that he was boarding nearby and had errantly ventured onto the ice after having overindulged in liquor, in keeping with his aversion to water.

Just when you think you have seen every type of burger under the sun along comes something that completely blows your mind. A burger that is literally injected with melted cheese at your table, as you watch on, drooling.

Think something like this can only exist in your wildest, greediest dreams? Think again.

You’ll find this melted cheese burger in Abu Dhabi, at Firefly Burger. Here’s how it works: a normal burger is brought to the table by a waiter, along with a huge syringe and a pot of molten cheese.

Cheese is a breakfast food, a lunchtime snack, a barbecue necessity, and the perfect beach food. Even some desserts are made with cheese, like Romeu e Julieta, which pairs certain types of soft white cheese with sweet guava paste. Within Brazil, and particularly within the state of Minas Gerais (the country’s cheese headquarters), there are many different kind of cheeses being prepared with artisan techniques.
