Jose Mourinho has been sacked by Tottenham after just 17 months in charge.

The Portuguese replaced Mauricio Pochettino as Spurs manager in November 2019 and guided the club to sixth in the Premier League last season.

They are currently seventh, having picked up two points from their past three league games, and were knocked out of the Europa League in March.

Spurs face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on 25 April.

On Sunday, Tottenham were one of six Premier League clubs to announce they were joining a new European Super League, but it is not related to Mourinho's sacking.

Mourinho's coaching staff of Joao Sacramento, Nuno Santos, Carlos Lalin and Giovanni Cerra have also been sacked.

Dylan Reid will miss St Mirren's matches in the next two weeks as he focuses on school work.

The 16-year-old midfielder - the youngest to feature in the Scottish Premiership - made his debut in last month's defeat by Rangers.

The Paisley side face Ross County and Kilmarnock over the next seven days.

Manager Jim Goodwin, whose side are eighth in the league, said Reid's absence for his end of year assessment was "a first for me".

"Dylan Reid has to go back to school, he is not allowed to travel," said the Irishman. "He is not able to train the next two weeks, he is actually back at school because he has exams coming up.

"Obviously his education is very important and it is something that we want to encourage, so he has been given time away and he will join back in with the group in a couple of weeks' time."
