Andy Murray "sure deserves" a wildcard for the French Open, tournament director Guy Forget says.

Former world number one Murray has entered qualifying for the Grand Slam because his ranking is not high enough to gain direct entry following injury.

Forget watched the Scot practise with Novak Djokovic in Rome this week and will decide whether to award him a wildcard after talking to him.

Organisers also announced plans to have more fans attending the last five days.

The centre court at Roland Garros will be allowed to have 5,000 spectators from 9 June but before that the limit will be 1,000 spectators on any one court with a maximum of just over 5,000 allowed into the grounds.

Fans will need to show a negative Covid test or a vaccine certificate to enter.

The prize money pot for the Grand Slam, which starts on 30 May, will fall slightly to 34m euros (£29m) from 38m euros in 2020.

Stoney's final game in charge of the club will be Sunday's FA Cup fifth round tie against Leicester City.

Ellen DeGeneres is to end her long-running US talk show in 2022 after 19 years on the air.

"As great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it's just not a challenge anymore," she told the Hollywood Reporter.

The announcement comes just months after the show faced accusations it was a toxic place to work.

It led to three senior producers losing their jobs and DeGeneres opening the current season with an on-air apology.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which has aired since September 2003, will come to an end in 2022 after its 19th season.

Chicago has released 1,000 feral cats onto its streets in an effort to deal with the city's rodent problem after it was named the rat capital of the United States for the sixth year running.

Animal shelter the Tree House Humane Society is behind the Cats at Work program, neutering the animals before they are returned to patrol the Windy City.

The shelter says it uses felines that who 'wouldn’t thrive in a home or shelter environment', or 'those cats cannot be reintegrated into their former colonies' for the pest control.

Chicago was named the rat capital of the US for the sixth year running in October last year after pest control specialists Orkin ranked metro regions by the number of new rodent treatments performed from September 2019 to August 31, 2020.

Tree House Humane Society started the program in 2012; since then it has released up to 1,000 cats on to the city's streets, WGN9 first reported.

The Premier League has agreed to roll over its existing television deal with broadcasters for a further three years.

The new deal with Sky Sports, BT Sport, Amazon Prime Video and BBC Sport will run from 2022 to 2025.

The current £4.7bn deal, agreed in 2018, represented a 10% drop in value.

The Government has approved the deal "in principle" with an "exclusion order" under the competition act, which allows the league to renew without its normal tender process.

"In light of the damaging impact of the Covid-19 pandemic throughout the English football pyramid, the Premier League was able to demonstrate to Government exceptional and compelling reasons for the Exclusion Order," the league said.

As part of the new deal, BT Sport say that to help with the fixture congestion, they will change their Saturday lunchtime game to an evening slot when teams involved have played in Europe on the previous Wednesday.

Sheffield United have spoken to former Fulham and Watford boss Slavisa Jokanovic about their vacant manager's job.

The Blades have been without a permanent boss since Chris Wilder's departure on 13 March.

Under-23 manager Paul Heckingbottom has been in charge since Wilder's exit but was unable to prevent the Blades' relegation back to the Championship.

Jokanovic, 52, is currently at Qatari club Al-Gharafa.

The Bramall Lane club's hierarchy are looking at their options but the Serb is not the only man they have spoken to and he is not certain to get the job.

However, his experience in guiding two clubs into the Premier League is sure to count in his favour.

For his part, Jokanovic is keen to return to England with his contract in Qatar due to end next month.

Real Madrid beat Granada to keep the pressure on leaders Atletico Madrid at the top of La Liga.

The defending champions are two points behind Atleti with two games to go.

Luka Modric gave Real the lead from Miguel Gutierrez's scooped pass and Rodrygo scored with a fine solo goal.

Veteran Jorge Molina gave Granada hope but Eden Hazard set up Alvaro Odriozola and moments later Karim Benzema scored into an empty net from 40 yards after a goalkeeping error.

Real's two first-half goals were assisted by players born in the 2000s, Gutierrez - making his first La Liga start - and Marvin Park, who had a spell on Tranmere's books as a child.

Atletico Madrid could win the title on Sunday if they beat Osasuna and Real fail to beat Athletic Bilbao.

Barcelona, who are four points behind Atletico, host Celta Vigo.

Well, according to some scientists (I don't remember who or what article, it has been a while since I read it), the first person who will live to 150 is already alive. So who knows, we might make it that far and keep drinking 4 locos at 140 lol.

Brazilian centre-back David Luiz will leave Arsenal this summer.

The 34-year-old met with club officials on Friday when it was decided to sever ties after two years at Emirates Stadium.

Luiz has made 30 appearances in all competitions this season but the Gunners feel they need to look towards the future after a torrid campaign.

It is not known whether the former Paris St Germain and Chelsea defender intends to remain in England.

Luiz, who joined from London rivals Chelsea for £8m in August 2019, has missed Arsenal's last three games with a hamstring injury.

Mikel Arteta's side are ninth in the Premier League.
