Its the age old trick used by agents.

Link their player with us to orchestrate a move somewhere else. No chance we're spending £5m on any player, let alone a central midfielder (an area we are overloaded in already)

If he is a defensive mid, and less than three players are leaving, then we don't need him. We already have Kayal, Wanyama, Broonie, Ledley, Mulgrew, Ambrose, (Lustig at a pinch) who can all play in the 2 defensive mid positions.

Anyway I can't see pistol parting with 5m euros anytime soon.

I think we would spend £5m if we were to sell either Wanyama or Kayal and we were confident that Eremenko could be sold at a profit in the future

I think he could be a shrewd buy. Looks like his contract is up, Rubin signed him for 13 million. He is a starter and started for Dynamo Kiev for 3 years before this.

He will command a decent wage though. If we can sneak 5 mill for Kayal and sign this lad for 5, I think we will improving.
