Can you not delete these Tactics please-I don't mind other seeing it, and I don't want to lose them
--------------------------------------

Dagenham and Redbridge

-------------------------------Trapp--------------------
--Carvajal---------Howedes--------Cirigliano--------Schmelzer
------------------Gundogan---------K.Asamoah--------------
-------Juan Mata-------Toni Kroos----------M.Gotze
---------------------------El Shaarawy-------------------

Subs: Hernanes, Pjanic, Shaqiri, Livaja, Benassi

Corners: Kroos
Freekicks: Schmelzer
Penalties: Kroos
Captain: Howedes

Gameplan: We will be playing M.Gotze and Juan Mata out wide, in the basis that they take full advantage of 2 attacking Opposition Full Backs. Also, we will be instructing M.Gotze and Juan Mata to come inside, so they become a handful for the opposition DM and CBs. They are both very good at shooting, so they shouldn’t mind having a pop at goal, as both are in fine form this season. We will look to Kroos to destroy the opposition DM and really be a main threat from AM. Gundogan will be behind him, but equally important, bombing up when he can, but sitting back and playing the passing role to ease off pressure. Kroos will need to get those rocket-powered shots in at the opposition’s goal, as has a real hammer strike on him that he needs to release on goal. He will work his magic in his best position, and really support El Shaarawy. He will use his brilliant vision to thread through balls into the attackers and try to get round a good defence. Asamoah has been amazing for Juve this season, and has to make sure the opposition AM is given no space or time on the ball. He will keep the AM out of the game and intercept anything that comes to him. He will be breaking down play and keeping the ball as well as passing, are his best traits, so he will look to prevent any attack coming in at him, and release the ball quickly when in possession. Cirigliano and Howedes are 2 top CBs, and both have to remain solid up against a very good striker/s, they have to make sure they don’t give away penalties/Freekicks and have to win every aerial duel and 50-50 fairly, whilst marking their men closely and tightly and cutting off runs made by the strikers. They will not make any sloppy mistakes, and remain focused. They won’t give short back passes to the GK, or play risky passes. They have to keep everything simple. We will not be beaten down the wings either, as Carvajal is the best full-back in the world, so should look to cut off opposition runs, and when he attacks, he should offer real width to Muller, and double up on the opposition LB. Marcel Schmelzer will not leave gaps behind and always track back, and will look at them to really test the opposition full backs, with their excellent runs and their fantastic crosses troubling the defence, finding El Shaarawy, M.Gotze and Juan Mata. El Shaarawy will be the one who has to make runs on to every pass threaded through to him, and will be a huge threat from crosses, from the likes of Schmelzer and Carvajal. Kroos will go up to support him, so he will not be isolated, and will use immense finishing talent to get the goals for us.

FULLBACKS: Carvajal and Schmelzer are both good defensively as fullbacks, but will be instructed strictly to always track back, and to never ever leave space once we lose the ball. However, when they attack, they should look to whip the ball into El Shaarawy, Juan Mata and M.Gotze, who are all dangerous in the box. Or they should come in and interact with Kroos or Gundogan/Asamoah to keep the ball. They should look to attack the opposition fullbacks every time, and take advantage of any space left from them.

CENTRE BACKS: Cirigliano and Howedes partner each other, and they are two, class defenders that complement each other very well. They are both good in the air, quick, and very good in the tackle, which could see us keep a clean sheet. They will be up against a powerful striker, and they will have to make sure he doesn’t get the space to turn, or head the ball in. Cirigliano goes for the aerial ball, up against a good quick striker, has to win every 50-50. Howedes clears up everything on deck, and also has to be aware of the ST at all times, matching his movement, and instructing the defence well. Cirigliano is naturally a DM, but, like Mascherano, will drop back at CB for this game. He comes as a cross between Masch and Xavi, with Masch's superb Defensive ability, and Xavi's beautiful passing.

AM : Kroos will be playing the AM role today. His job is crucial to the team, as they will sit just in front of the DM, and will look to get the ball up to El Shaarawy. Kroos will create that extra magic that is needed to unlock defences, whilst Gundogan will sit back, just behind him, ready to help out. He will be crucial in our Counter-attacking game, as he will be the ones to supply the striker, and deliver those long, lung-busting runs across the pitch. Kroos will link up the play from Midfield to attack, being an enormous threat from long shots and his movement will cause plenty of problems for the opposition DM as they will have a top class AMs all over them, pressing them back towards their own defence.

DM + CM: Kwadoh Asamoah will be guarding the back four and prevent the opponent from counter attacking, whilst dictating from deep and getting through balls into the forwards. He will break play up, and prevent any attack from happening. He will be a rock in the centre of Midfield and will control the game. He will not allow the Opposing AM/CM Any time on the ball at all. Him and Gundogan are both great passers of the ball, and look to get the ball through to Juan Mata, M.Gotze and Kroos, or look to Kroos to release those beautiful cross field passes onto the head or feet of El Shaarawy. Asamoah should be able to deal with any AM in the League, such is his class, whilst also being quick to cover down any spaces left by our attacking Full-backs, which would prevent any sudden Counter-attacking movement down the wings, and it would also free up loads of space for Kroos, who would either float those wonder balls into El Shaarawy, or those sly through balls into the Path of Juan Mata or M.Gotze. Alongisde Asamoah, Gundogan will be the dictator of the game. He will read the game brilliantly, and use his superb vision to spot runs coming in off the wings. Gundogan will use his brilliant feet and quick thinking, to get out of dangerous situations, and find a teammate, when being pressurized, and will also look to play in our wingers. He will often go up to support Kroos, ready to recycle the ball when it comes back to him.

ST: El Shaarawy is the ST for this game, and he has shown just how good he is numerous times with Bayern and Croatia, especially if he gets service, which would be no problem having M.Gotze, Kroos and Juan Mata’s backing, Kroos’ brilliant vision, Carvajal and Schmelzer’s whipped in ball’s from the wings, and with Juan Mata and M.Gotze by his side, he will get plenty of chances and ways to score. He will rely on his extreme Pace, positioning, Technical ability and Finishing Prowess and look to crumble any defence he comes up against, with his brilliant knack of finding the back of the net. Juan Mata will play RM and he will look to take on and beat the Opposition LB at every opportunity, and take full advantage of any space left by the LB. Having Carvajal by his side when we attack would really help, as he will have some backing down the right flank. Juan Mata will use his immense dribbling skills and pace to cut into the box and look to find a shot/Teammate to try and work a goalscoring opportunity. He will link up with Mandzukukic and the 2 of them should be too much for the defence. El Shaarawy’s best attribute is his finishing, and any chance that falls his way must be finished off. M.Gotze will be on the LM, and he is known for cutting inside, making intelligent runs, and getting into goalscoring positions. He will link up with El Shaarawy and Juan Mata, causing problems down the Left Flank. He should cut in, and look to confuse the opposition, and link up with the midfield. Once he gets an opportunity to shoot, he should not be afraid of having a shot, as his extremely powerful strikes can prove to be too much for the opposition GK. M.Gotze has a powerful run, and he should look to power his way into the box to try and set someone up. He should also look to get on the end of high/deep crosses from Carvajal/Schmelzer/Juan Mata, and knock the ball down to advancing teammate

Subs:

60mins: Hernanes > Cirigliano, Asamoah drops into CB, Hernanes CM, brilliant pairing with Gundogan
75mins: Livaja > El Shaarawy, Livaja only 19 and breaking into Inter's first team, top scorer in Europa with 6 goals, and really impressing so far.
80mins: Shaqiri > Kroos, Gotze AM, Mata LM, Shaqiri RM, raw pace to attack their backline

-------------------Fabianski
--------------------Diawara
Rafinha-----Mbiwa------Burdisso—Balzaretti
---------------Veloso—Wilshere
Chamberlain-----------------------Emmanuelson
--------------------Bendtner

Bench
Warnock,
Rode,
Arshavin (For Diawara 70, put him just behind the CF)
Niang (For Bendtner 75)
Yesil

Game Plan: Our aim today is to park the bus in front of goal. That is important. If we lose then it will be embarrassing to lose to an inferior side. No play is allowed to attack apart from Chamberlain, Emmanuelson and Wilshere. Bendtner should just stay forward. Otherwise the other players stay back and kick it forward after receiving the ball.

Fabianski should stop the ball going in the net. That is his job. Commanding the defence also.

Diawara should just stay in his position protecting the keeper. He must clear all the balls away from the goal. He should push the opposition players away.

Burdisso and Mbiwa must stay in a deep position and closing up any space that the strikers will target. They must bully the striker or strikers off the ball and keep them man marked. As a result the opposition with find it difficult to create chances through him. Protecting Diawara and the keeper is important. Stay back and act physical.

Rafinha should use his speed to trap the winger towards the corner flag or back towards his own half. This means any attempt to cross the ball or run into the box is stopped. He is not allowed to move up the pitch at all. He must clear any space that the attackers can penetrate. Use his physical strength to push them away from the ball. Balzaretti should do the same.

Veloso and Wilshere must act as protection of the back 5 and then supplying the ball to the wings or just smack it forward. Veloso should keep with their main playmaker or if unless that is not possible move back and act as a 4th centre back. We must not allow them to score whatsoever. Wilshere is allowed to roam up a little further but is required to help Veloso when needed. When they are off the ball stay with the defence so that no player can find any space. Wilshere if he needs to can help attack but preferably stay back.

Chamberlain and Emmanuelson should use their pace and skills to run into the box and taking any opportunities presented to them. They must roam about the midfield by looking for space and creating themselves as a passing option or look for the ball that was cleared by the defence. They should switch positions every 20 minutes to constantly make the defenders adjust to a new style of player to defend. It could also lead to them mistakenly following them which would free up space on that side of the pitch.

Bendtner should just look to get into goalscoring positions by using his pace and strength to force his way into the box.

FK – Emmanuelson
PK – Chamberlain
CK - Chamberlain

Shrewsbury Tactics vs D+R:

----------------Schwarzer------------------
--Arbeloa--Puyol---Evans--Pieters----
-----------Carrick----Kehl------------
------------------Diaby--------------------
--Vargas--------Di Natale-----------Tello--

Subs:
Felipe Santana, Varane, Adriano, Canales and Diego.

Tactics:
Schwarzer:
He needs to control his defence, be big and strong in one on ones, be assertive in the air and make sure his distribution is really good. His communication with the defenders must be good, telling them where to be and when and also when he is coming to collect the ball.

Arbeloa and Erik Pieters:
They need to be strong in their tackles and not let their winger beat them, they will always try and show the winger onto their weak foot so that they are at the disadvantage. Both will have the freedom of pushing up and helping the attack by overlapping the wingers giving us extra options going forward.

Carlos Puyol and Jonny Evans:
They will be strong in tackles and always make sure they win the ball. One will always sweep the other for any aerial balls played. I am designating Puyol to man mark their main striker and try and keep him out of the game due to his experience. He will stay goal side at all times and he will try and stay as tight as possible to not give him any room to receive the ball in any way.

Carrick and Kehl:
They will sit in front of the defence and try and break down attacks and start new ones for us. They will be strong in their tackles and always play it simple when on the ball. They will both have a bit of freedom to push up a little and help with attacks but must make sure the other stays back and we have enough cover at the back. If either get into a decent position, neither will be afraid to shoot from distance to test the opposition keeper.

Abou Diaby:
Diaby will play as a box to box midfielder. He will help out defensively but will also look to push up and help out the attack. He will use his drive and power to start attacks, he will look to pick the ball up from deep and try and play it as simple as possible and then look to push foward. Diaby needs to be a real work horse today, he will always be trying to close down the opposition and try and get in their faces.

Eduardo Vargas and Cristian Tello:
The 2 wingers will interchange throughout the game to try and confuse the opposition defence. They will try and link together to punish the Dagenham defence. The 2 wingers will try and get past their man and get balls in for Di Natale. They will look for lots of through balls to Di Natales but will mainly play it simple and not give the ball away too easily, they will also look for Diaby pushing forward and maybe one of Carrick/Kehl. None of them will be afraid to shoot from range either. The wingers will also look for the full backs overlapping them.

Antonio Di Natale:
Di Natale will be moving in and around the defenders all the time, trying to confuse them and try and open up gaps in the defence for himself and his team mates. He will try and find himself space to collect the ball and lay it off for someone or turn and make a chance for himself. He will try and make himself difficult to mark from the start to confuse the defence and force them into making mistakes. He will look to get in front of the defender when attacking crosses to give the best chance of winning the header. He won’t be afraid to drop deep to come and collect the ball either.

Subs:
If losing:
Diego > Diaby on 70', he will offer us a more attacking threat from midfield.
Adriano > Kehl on 80', we'll then play 4-4-2.

If winning/drawing:
Canales > Tello on 60', he will help track back at times from the wing whilst still helping out in attack.
Varane > Kehl on 75', he will drop into CB and we will try and hold onto our result.

WEEK 2

----------------------------Padt
-----------Alderweireld----------Vertonghen
van Rhijn-----------------------------------------Boilesen
--------------Nordtveit---------Henriksen
---Lens-------------Eriksen----------------Mertens
---------------------------------Fischer

Subs: Zoet, de Vrij, Clasie, Berisha, Narsingh

Tactics: Again we’ve picked a team where all 11 are comfortable on the ball. We’ve a composed defence, starting with one of the most talented young and assured keepers in the league in Padt in goal. Padt is an intelligent keeper who dominates his area – gives good, clear instructions to his defenders, and distributes the ball well.

In central defence we have a strong International pairing. Both do the simple things right, no fuss, and both will look to play the ball with composure, work together and anticipate through balls through to the opposition’s forwards. Both also have good height so are strong in the air to deal with any aerial threats they may come up against. Both Alderweireld and Vertonghen have the ball playing ability to bring the ball out of defence, and create forward momentum from the back. Both will go up for corners in the opposition’s penalty box.

Our full backs are strong, pacy and intelligent. They’ll look to put the opposition’s wingers (or inside right/left forwards under pressure – trying to either take their attackers into positions where they cannot get the ball into our area – or if necessary force them inside where Nordtveit and Henriksen will look to dispossess them. Both full backs will assist Lens and Mertens in front of them by providing overlaps. Do not underestimate the pace of van Rhijn and Boilesen. They are like two greyhounds, biting at the heels of the opposition’s wide men, and then whipping down the flanks to assist our wide attackers

Nordtveit will be the defensive midfielder. Covering all along the line – looking to support the centre backs and full backs. He’ll look to play good short passes into Henriksen or well-timed balls out to Lens and Mertens. When Alderweireld and Vertonghen go up for corners Nordtveit will remain defensive and cover any counter attacks.

Henriksen will combine well with Nordtveit and between the 2 of them we will hope for a good deal of possession. Henriksen has a quick turn of pace and will look to find the space to make progress into the oppositions half – from where he’ll look to bring Eriksen and Fischer into the game with precise 1-2s and well placed and timed through balls. Henriksen will also look to bring Lens and Mertens into the game – in space where they can make runs into the danger areas or look to get crosses into the box.

Lens and Mertens will constantly look to make themselves available to their teammates – they’ll work with our fullbacks to run into space and look for the return pass. They’ll look to beat the oppositions fullbacks on pace and skill and send dangerous crosses into the penalty area. They’ll also use their pace to come in – play 1-2s with Henriksen/Eriksen to look to create chances for themselves or Henriksen/Eriksen and Fischer. Lens is built like a brick …..house. Powerful and incredibly quick, he is literally a steamroller and the opponent’s left back will have to be up to the challenge. As a player who can also play as a sole forward he also knows exactly how to score when given the opportunity. Mertens meanwhile is full of pace, and full of tricks – a real whippersnapper with a hunger for creating and scoring goals.

Eriksen will play in the attacking midfield position – a little dropped off from Fischer – he will look to exploit any space in front of and between the oppositions defence. play well placed and well-timed through balls for Fischer – or look to create the space for himself – by working with his teammates to create accurate opportunities on goal. Eriksen will also like to interchange with Fischer making it difficult for the opposition to pick him up, or at very least allowing someone like Fischer to lose his marker. Eriksen is the ultimate box of tricks; watch out for him bamboozling his opponent. His opponent’s better watch the ball not the player or else Eriksen will run riot in his offensive role.

Fischer plays up front, and boy we have got fireworks on our hands here. Lightning pace and a footballing brain that others can one weep off. Working in tandem with Eriksen they’ll fluctuate between which one is the most advance. Looking the ball off of Henriksen, or the two wide men, maybe Fischer will pick the ball up deep and play a sublime 1-2 with Eriksen before smashing one in the back of the net. Or maybe he’ll drift wide to the left, slipping the simplest of touches back in to the income and clear on target path of Henriksen or Eriksen. Or maybe he’ll use all his guile in and around the penalty box to gratefully receive the ball into his feet from those talented players around him, or run onto one of their sublime through balls.

Captain – Vertonghen
Corners – Lens (Narsingh)/Mertens
Free Kicks – Eriksen, although long range attempts will be from Alderweireld
Penalties – Fischer

Subs. Fresh Legs after 75 mins – Clasie on for Nordtveit, Narsingh on for Lens, de Vrij on for van Rhijn

Subs: Günter, Montolvio, Kagawa, Marin, Ronaldinho, Drogba

Captain: Pirlo
Vice Captain: Van Persie

Penalties: Pirlo
Freekicks: Van Persie

Brad Freidel starts in goal for the club, he's an experienced keeper who has the confidence to command his area and keep constant communication with the defence. He'll be barking out orders and making sure the team defend as a unit.

We'll be playing with a back 4 this week with Rafael and Umtiti operating on the flanks as wing backs, getting forward to support attacks as well as defending and getting back when we don't have the ball. Umtiti, covers for the injured Cissokho at left back with no trouble as he can play either role effectively. The center back pairing consists of Garay and the experienced Ferdinand. Rio still reads the game as good as anyone and he'll have plenty of support pace-wise from Garay, Rafael and box to box midfielder Strootman.

Capoue (the destroyer) takes up his place anchoring the midfield with Pirlo just in front to his left, the play maker, he'll be looking to get the ball from the defence and feed the attack. Strootman will be playing just right of the 3, he''l be the engine, getting up and down the pitch.

Van Persie leads the attack, he's strong and deadly in and around the box. He can take balls on his chest, he can head the ball or he can have it into feet. This week he'll have Gaitan and Sarabia closer to him up the pitch, as we operate with the 4-3-3 formation. They'll be creating chances and cutting inside and out.

If winning after 70 minutes:

Montolivo will replace Strootman to keep the energy up in the middle of the park.
Marin will come in for Sarabia, to keep the opposition pegged back.
Günter will then come in for Ferdinand to help see the game out.

If losing after 70 minutes:

We'll switch to a 4-4-2, with Drogba coming in for Strootman and playing up alongside RVP.
Kagawa will come in for Gaitan and will be looking to set Umtiti through down the touchline so he can float balls in towards Drogba.

Bruno Martins Indi
David Vila
Kevin Mirallas
Isaac Cuenca
Dimitar Berbatov

Set Pieces:
Captain: Godin
Freekicks: De Bruyne
Corners: De Bruyne
Pens: De Jong

Game plan:
We plan to do keep the play tight throughout the game and hit the opposition on the break.

Tactics:

Vorm:
He is to be big and strong when it comes to one-on-one with the opposition players. He also needs to be big and strong in the air and get needs to make sure he makes himself as big as he can when shots come in on goal. He also needs to command his area.

Granqvist and Buttner:
Both are to be big and strong in their tackles, both need to sit in and protect the defence. Both also need to be aware of the opposition wingers and full backs. Both also need to make sure our wingers help them out when defending too. However, both can break forward with pace when we go on the counter-attack. They'll need to play one-two's with our wingers and get as many crosses into the box as possible for Hunterlaar to get on the end of.

Godin and Koscielny:
Both are to be big and strong in their tackles, both need to be big and strong in the air as well. Both need to command the players around them and get them into shape. Whilst one is winning everything in the air the other needs to be on hand to clear the ball out of the box. Both need to start our attacks off and play poccession football as well from the back.

Sandro:
Sandro is to sit back and help out our defence as much as possible. He needs to be big and strong in his tackles. He also needs to get the ball off our defenders and get it forward as quick as possible. He also needs to make sure he gets help from De Bruyne or De Jong so he can protect our defence.

De Bruyne and De Jong:
De Bruyne is to be the most be the defensive of our two AM’s but he can also get forward when we go on the break and create some chances. De Jong and De Bruyne are to play neat one two’s with each other and play through balls to Huntelaar and our wingers to get on the end of in the box. Both can have a shot on the goal if their think it’s the best option. Both also need to get into the box and help Huntelaar out when the ball is coming in from out wide.

Farfan and Pablo:
Both are to help the full-backs out and protect them from the opposition getting into our penalty box and getting crosses in. Both need to use their pace when we go on the break and make sure their supply Huntelaar with enough crosses to get his head on to get a goal. Both can also have a shot on goal if nothing else is on. Both can rotate wings throughout the match to keep the opposition on their toes. Both also need to break in the box to help out Huntelaar if the ball is coming from the centre of the pitch.

Huntelaar:
He is to win everything in the air and make sure he's in the box to receive the ball to get a shot on the goal. Huntelaar also needs to draw our pacey players towards him and help them get a shot on the goal.

Subs:

Mirallas on for De Jong (70 mins) – Mirallas goes to the left, Pablo goes into De Jongs place.

Berbatov on for Huntelaar (75 mins) – Like for like

Cuenca on for Farfan (85 mins) – Like for like change.

Bender should be able to deal with any AM in the League, such is his class, whilst also being quick to cover down any spaces left by our attacking Full-backs, which would prevent any sudden Counter-attacking movement down the wings, and it would also free up loads of space for Kroos, who would either float those wonder balls into El Shaarawy, or those sly through balls into the Path of Juan Mata or M.Gotze. Alongisde Lars Bender, Gundogan will be the dictator of the game.

ST: El Shaarawy is the ST for this game, and he has shown just how good he is numerous times with Milan this season, especially if he gets service, which would be no problem having M.Gotze, Kroos and Juan Mata’s backing, Kroos’ brilliant vision, Howedes and Schmelzer’s whipped in ball’s from the wings, and with Juan Mata and M.Gotze by his side, he will get plenty of chances and ways to score. Having Howedes by his side when we attack would really help, as he will have some backing down the right flank. Juan Mata will use his immense dribbling skills and pace to cut into the box and look to find a shot/Teammate to try and work a goalscoring opportunity. He will link up with El Shaarawy and the 2 of them should be too much for the defence. He should also look to get on the end of high/deep crosses from Howedes/Schmelzer/Juan Mata, and knock the ball down to advancing teammate

Subs:

60mins: Livaja > Kroos, My young star, fresh after a Motm performance against Roma, Gotze will move AM, Livaja LM
75mins: Muriel > Bender, Luis Muriel to play up front with El Shaarawy and Livaja:

-------------------Gundogan
----------Gotze----------------Juan Mata
---------Livaja------------------El Shaarawy
-------------------Luis Muriel

It may be attacking, but its bound to get a goal, and Gusogan has plenty of defensive attributes in his locker

80mins: Shaqiri > El Shaarawy, Livaja LF, Shaqiri RF, raw pace to attack their backline

Adler
Burdisso Mbiwa Diawara
Rafinha Veloso Wilshere Balzaretti
Chamberlain Jelavic Yesil

Subs – Fabianski, Rode, Johson, Rowe

Game Plan – This game is a game we want to win and though it appears we’re playing defensive, we aren’t. I want us to attack them with everything we’ve got. We will be working together to earn this win so I want all our players to stick to their position but also keep in space. This will mean they will be an option for any player that has the ball. I want our football to flow with a direct passing style. I want us to also use the flanks as much as possible as I think this is where we’ll be more effective.

Positional Tactics:

Adler should keep in his goal controlling his defenders to keep to their positions. He must use his strength to beat everyone to the ball. Communicate constantly with the defence to prevent confusion and mistakes.

Rafinha should play as a wing back. This means when we have the ball he should play as a supporting role to our wingers and midfielders. He must go up to add to the pressure against the defence. He should stay out wide to create a crossing option and he will try and drill the ball into the centre. I want him to bring the other defenders towards him in order to open up space for Chamberlain to take advantage of. While defending Rafinha should try and push the player back. This means it gives our players the chance to get into their positions and also limiting any attacking options for them. If he can’t do that he should push him out wide to a position where he has to kick the ball off. This is because running into the box would be dangerous for us to handle so this will be prevented. Balzaretti should also act as a wing back however because they will be dangerous on the counter we need to look to keep some players back we can prevent goals from occurring. Therefore don’t attack as much as Rafinha does. However I would like him to go up every now and then if my attackers do need the help. He should also look to keep the attackers back or push them out wide. When we have a free kick or corner our full backs should stay back in case of a counter attack.

Mbiwa should use his height and strength to keep the striker(s) out of the game. I want him to keep with that attacker at all times not allowing him to break up space. If he tries to move mbiwa away and allow space to occur then he should temporarily leave him and try and trap him offside. Because the wing backs will be attacking he should act as help to prevent players cutting into the box. He should try and header every ball out of the box or kick it away. When he does kick it away he should kick it towards the wings so that we can create a counter attack. He should stay back when we’re attacking unless we have a corner or free kick. Burdisso should use his experience and strength to keep potential runners into the box out. We do not want any space opened up. He should look to keep command of the defensive line making sure it’s not too high but not too deep. Diawara should do the same as Burdisso.

Veloso will act as a wall in front of the defence. He should look to disrupt their attacking play and be in the oppositions face, and watch the advances of their playmaker who will break from midfield and make runs into the box. Veloso has the power to cope with the strength of their playmaker and also the pace to follow the runs made by him. He will break late and Veloso should watch the runs into the box and look to cope with the balls put into the box which are heading for this player. He should not break forward but hold his position and not get caught up field. I want him to control the style of the game we play. While acting as cover for our defence he should also separate the midfield from the defence by keeping hold of the ball and form attacks.

Wilshere will be our box-box midfielder. This means he will be linking our defence with our attack. He should take hold of the ball and then make runs forward and then supplying it to any of the front 4 ahead. When we’re attacking I want him to move up and stay in space. This will mean he will be an option for the others to pass to. He should also look to open up space for the other attacking players. When off the ball he should be a ball winning player by standing in front of their players and also covering up any spaces.

I want Chamberlain to use his skill to keep the ball and then try and make runs into the box. This will cause the defender to follow him and opening up space for the full back to run into. He must use his pace to outrun the full back but also his quality control of the ball to dribble round him. He will use the full back when the space has opened up. He should work with Rafinha to create space in the opposition’s box. Use Rafinha out wide to bring their full back to him so Isla can run into the box with less challenge. If that doesn’t work then he should bring the full back to him and then use Rafinha. When we’re off the ball I want him to make runs back to help protect the defence by helping Rafinha cover their full back. They should both pressurise him to make a mistake or remove the ball from that area. Chamberlain should also be cautious of the other midfielders. When defending a corner he should stay just outside the box so that he can start a counter attack when or if we win the ball back. I would like Yesil to do the same as the ox in this case.

I would like Chamberlain and Yesil to intersect and change positions every now and then to cause their defenders to move out of position and open up space. This will also force them to constantly adapt to changing their defensive style.

Jelavic must use his pace and skill to open up spaces for the wingers and central players to run into. He should make runs to the wing forcing the centre backs out wide. Therefore players like Wilshere and the wingers can cut into the centre and take chances by themselves. He should look to overpower their defenders with his pace and strength and height. He should constantly look to move into space to create himself as an option for the defence. He should also try and assist others in attacks. When we’re defending he should mark the player at the edge of the box. When we win the ball back he can run up to keep himself an option on the counter.

Shrewsbury Tactics vs Salisbury:

----------------Schwarzer------------------
--Arbeloa--Puyol---Evans--Pieters----
-----------Carrick----Scholes------------
------------------Diaby--------------------
--Giacch’-----Di Natale---------Tello--

Subs:
Felipe Santana, Pienaar, Adriano, Canales and Kehl.

Tactics:

I am designating Puyol to man mark their false 9 striker and try and keep him out of the game due to his experience. He will stay goal side at all times and he will try and stay as tight as possible to not give him any room to receive the ball in any way.

Carrick and Scholes:

Giaccherini and Cristian Tello:
The 2 wingers will interchange throughout the game to try and confuse the opposition defence. They will try and link together to punish the Salisbury defence. The 2 wingers will try and get past their man and get balls in for Di Natale. They will look for lots of through balls to Di Natale but will mainly play it simple and not give the ball away too easily, they will also look for Diaby pushing forward and maybe one of Carrick/Scholes.

Subs:
If losing:
Canales > Diaby on 70', he will offer us a more attacking threat from midfield.
Adriano > Scholes on 80', we'll then play 4-4-2.

If winning/drawing:
Canales > Tello on 60', he will help track back at times from the wing whilst still helping out in attack.
Santana > Scholes on 75', he will drop into CB and we will try and hold onto our result.

Lindegaard – as a goal keeper I expect you to be loud and boss you area. I expect you to do the easy stuff right and keep concentration and allow your god given talent to make the big saves when/if needed. You have an experienced back 4 ahead of you so it should be easy.

Boeting and Coco – you’re experienced CB’s who are physically strong and great in the air. I expect neither of you to lose a header tonight and I want to see you stop the striker. Cover for each other and don’t be too silly on the ball just get rid. Though if you have time and space look to play the ball out from the back,
Barca Boys – Harrogate is the new barca I want you covering the winger and stopping crosses. I want to see you be available for the CB’s to pass (only should they pass to you if they are not under pressure.) When you have the ball look for a pass. Link up well with the winger and run to make the overlap. Attack the bi line or cut inside and don’t be afraid to take on you man.

Fofana and Verratti – you are the controllers, the hub of the team and I have faith in both of you. Look to get the ball from the back 4 and play it out wide or forward. Link with everyone around you and find the killer pass. Do not be overrun in midfield and make the enforcing tackles. Both of you are playing for top European teams and are more than good enough.
Fellaini –Box to Box baby!! Dominate the midfield attack with the ball to feet and attack the ball in the air. No defense can handle you so play like you have for me and Everton in the past. Link up with the loan striker, wingers and the CM and draw the defense out to create space for other… if you want to take them on and shoot too. Also make yourself a target from set pieces.

Wingers – attack the man and get crosses in for Robert or Fellaini to head, cut inside and shoot yourself or play early into feet. Make sure your looking for the overlap and when it happens covering the wings for counter attacks.

Klose– Lone striker with plenty of help, look for the ball to feet and taking on defense, Make a nuisance of yourself and draw defenders to create space for the big man or get your head on crosses. Hold the ball up or shoot and score it doesn’t matter. Just make sure you are never isolated and if you are drop deeper to collect the ball and look to pass to the on rushing attackers.

The aim of today’s game is to try and control the game right from the start/, control the tempo and do things on our terms. We will let the ball do the work with a simple, flowing pass and move game, which will leave us with energy to press our opponents high up the pitch when we do lose the ball. I want us to get right on top of the opposition from the start and press them back all game, I want quick short passing between the 3 players behind the striker, with Cabaye offering the option to ‘go home’ and start again, making sure we keep possession. We will have plenty of bodies in the middle to take control of the game, but when we have the ball we have such interchangeable players and fullbacks who can offer a lot going forward, I really want to utilise that and make us incredible difficult to contain or break down. I want the fullbacks offering most of the width for us today and getting balls in the box as Lukaku is brilliant at attacking these and we will also have at least 3 other bodies in the box waiting for anything to fall their way. Tiote and Cabaye will not be moving from just in front of the two CBs unless it’s to cover the FBs, which means we should always have enough bodies back to cope with any counter attacks thrown at us.

Forster: He needs to keep his concentration levels up and play as he is capable of. He’s a fantastic shot stopper, the main things he needs to concentrate on is organising his defence and being
alert all game.

Zabaleta & Gibbs: Both are fantastic one on one defenders but are also very comfortable on the ball. Without possession I always want them goal side of the wingers, hassling them, but not diving in – trying to force them into a backwards pass. When we have the ball I want them both pulling wide and looking to get forward, whether or not they get the ball they will be dragging players out to them and stretching the opposition, giving us more space to do damage in the middle. I also want them making overlapping runs for Willian and Reus and looking to get the ball in the box when they get in a good wide position. Between them they will be providing the bulk of the width for todays game, and it’s important that they stay forward as much as possible just because that will stretch the opposition defence, leaving more space for the 3 danger man further forward.

Hummels & Caulker: Hummels is the captain and will be bossing the back line, we have 4 players of great ability in defence and Hummels will be the one to make sure they’re organised and motivated, he will not let anyone get away without doing their job and will keep the defence sharp and focused. Caulker will use his pace and reading of the game to his advantages to make them a formidable partnership.

Tiote: Tiote will be the anchorman, as a footballer he doesn’t have as much ability as much as our other midfielders, but his job will be just as important as anyone elses. I primarily want him sitting in front of the back four, sweep across sideways rather than going back and forwards. Using his strength and physicality to pressure the opposition into mistakes and not allow them any time on the ball. I also want him covering for the fullbacks so we don’t get caught on the break, I want the fullbacks pushing on a lot to provide width for us, so it’s vital he keeps an eye on them. When he gets the ball I just want him keeping it simple, playing the way he’s facing to get the ball to our better players, then getting straight back into position.

Cabaye: Today Cabaye will start be playing right alongside Tiote. While Tiote will be doing a lot of running and hassling I want Cabaye to play a more tactical game and stay sat in the middle at all times, dictating the pace of the game from deep and offering some more protection for the defence. While we want to score goals it’s important we make ourselves hard to break down and don’t give away any cheap or early goals, so Cabaye’s role is vital. I want him to control the game, but if we get caught without the ball then he has the ability to pick a killer pass on the counter and we will have the players making the runs for him. He is also brilliant at timing late runs into the box and I’d like to see him doing this when he has an opportunity, but be smart about it and not try and do it too often, only when the perfect situation arises.

The two of them HAVE to be aware of the full backs pushing forward and defending for the counter attacks. I want Tiote to be the one to fill in for a FB with Cabaye holding the space in front of the back 4 still.

Cazorla, Willian & Deulofeu: Today I essentially want these three fully interchanging. The starting line up is just a base position to throw off the opposition, I expect them to be on the ball a lot, controlling the game. I want them to keep the passing very short and sharp, being patient and waiting for an opportunity to make itself known. If they keep playing like this and involve Lukaku in it then they will create plenty of gaps in the opposition defence that they’ll be able to expose, they should also create plenty of space for Zab & Gibbs who will always be offering wide.
Generally I want to see them cutting in from the wing and having a shot, as they’re all so dangerous when they do, but with Zabaleta and Gibbs offering an overlapping run I want them to be aware of this option, and whenever one has the ball on their side, I want the other two attacking the area, flooding the opposition defence and giving them a lot of headaches.

Lukaku: Today I want him getting involved quite a lot in the all round play, if he drops a little deep to play a quick give and go with a midfielder it will drag a defender with him, which will create space
in behind for Cazorla, Willian & Deulofeu to exploit. I want to see the CBs not knowing who is going to drop with him, or whether the MF should be picking him up, I want his movement to confuse them. Ultimately when we get the ball in the most dangerous positions I want him making little runs across the defenders for crosses, or off their shoulder for through balls. His finishing might not be the best but his sheer size and power should be enough to give the opposition CBs a nightmare of a game which means he will get plenty of chances and eventually a few will go in. I feel he’s good enough to hold up the play to bring others in, good enough to work off the shoulder of the last man and to score from crosses into the box from the FBs, too.

Subs:

If winning around 65 mins:

Yacob for Deulofeu, just to hold the midfield better and fresh legs to keep us in control of the game.
Atsu for Willian, fresh legs to offer a pacey direct threat against a tiring defence who have been chasing shadows all game.

----------Tiote---Yacob-----
Atsu-----Cabaye----Cazorla

80th Min – Benteke for Lukaku, straight swap.

If losing/drawing around 70 mins.

The essence of this new-look Shrewsbury is quick, direct football. We have the strength in defence to deal with the attacks of Notts Forest, and will be sitting with a relatively deep defensive line due to the pace they possess, and when on the ball looking to play it forward in a direct manner towards those in space. This is not necessarily 'long ball' tactics, but rather running at their defense and looking to constantly move the ball forward, as opposed to retaining possession.

Schwarzer is an experienced goalkeeper, who makes very few mistakes and he will be looking to exert this as confidence upon the defence. He will organise the backline, claim any balls into the box and seek to get us moving quickly with quick distribution either to the centre of the park or out to our full backs.

Notts Forest squad is all about a) Pace and b) the ability to keep hold of the ball. Therefore, our defence will hold a deep line and make it very difficult for their possession to mean anything. As a whole, the full backs will track the runs of their winger by standing off them and tracking their movement, whilst Evans will have the role of keeping tight to Suarez as Puyol uses his strength and mobility to deal with any crosses into the box and pick up any extra runners. The experience we possess here, with all being proven players means that we should be able to deal with any situations. In order to provide width down the right hand side, Arbeloa will look to get past Tello on the overlap when we attack whilst Pieters will remain defensive at all times.

Due to the likelihood of Forest playing three central players in midfield, who like to keep hold of the ball with great regularity, we have chosen to do the same. Coquelin is our Anchor Man. He is there to break up the play, sit in front of the defence and generally ensure that we remain in he game. He will distribute the ball to those in front of him. Carrick is our deep-lying play maker, and he has the ability to ping the ball about from anywhere on the park. He will spread the play, as if a quaterback in American football, firing the ball outwide, to feed our wingers or to any incisive runs by Lampard/Di Natale. Lampard, will do similar however he will also have the role of breaking from deep. This is what he does best in an attacking sense, and having adjusted to a deeper role in recent years, is now lethal in such situations. This will get Nottingham Forest on the back foot and ensure that space is created for himself and others. Therefore, this midfield has been designed with high levels of pressing and has the capabilities of breaking up the Forest play before getting forwards incisively ourselves.

Draxler has an abundance of pace and skill, and will be looking to make a mockery of the defensively falliable Oczipka. He will run, hard and fast, and be looking to put balls into the box for Di Natale to get on the end of. He is a frightening player, and one that will ensure Forest can not be too adventurous in their play. Tello will play likewise on the left-wing, however he will also be playing as an inside-forward seeking to target the gap between the slow moving Skrtel and defensively falliable Johnson. This pace and trickery will allow Tello to cut in on his favoured right foot and either trouble with mid-range shots, feed in Arbeloa on the overlap or play the ball in for Di Natale.

Di Natale is a wily fox-in-the-box. He knows his job inside out, and is on a good run of form with 2 goals in 2 games. Leading from the front, he can snuff out a goal from anywhere and the direct form of football we have created which will result in the ball ending up in the box in dangerous situations suits his poacher mentality perfectly. As our captain, he will lead from the front.

Subs:

If losing after 70 mins, Dost for Coquelin - two up front. (Debut)
After 75 mins, Scholes for Carrick to help us retain possession
After 80 mins, Kirchhoff on for Evans for his debut.

--------Veloso—Wilshere
The Ox--------------------Ince

Subs – Fabianski, Diawara, Rode(Jelavic 80. 4-2-3-1) , Niang, Yesil

Game Plan – I want us to control possession by keeping the ball on the ground and commanding play with high tempo , direct play and plenty of flowing football. The defence must keep alert at all times and play with a deep line. The midfield should always make themselves an option for the person on the ball which means continually running into space.

Adler must keep command of his defence by controlling their positioning and making sure they have complete concentration.

Rafinha and Balzaretti must make sure their wingers are pushed out wide forcing them to make crosses. Do not let other players overlap you in the process. Push them to use their weaker foot and then make pointless runs back. They are also asked to make runs forward to help attack. Mbiwa and Burdisso must stay deep and force out any potential attacks. They must force the striker out of the game and allow no space for him to exploit.

Veloso will be the main protector of the defence by keeping with their playmaker. He’ll be in charge of winning the ball back and commanding possession. H e must use wilshere and the wingers to create attacking formations. He must stay back for potential counter attacks. Wilshere will use his acceleration to move the ball forward and open up their defence. His passing technique will help create opportunities for the strikers as well as the wingers.

Chamberlain and Ince should both use their pace and skill to beat their men and find the cross. They should try and cut into the box in order to open up their defence. Use the full backs to move the defenders away thus making it easier for them to attack. They must also switch positions every now and then.

Jelavic and Huntelaar should just look to get into goalscoring positions by using his pace and strength to force their way into the box.

Captain: Godin

Game plan:
We plan to play a patient passing game. With the ball going along the back and working it's way forward.

Vorm:
He is to play the ball out to the full-backs or the centre backs and start the attacks off from the back. He is also to command his area and be big and strong with his one-on-one's and in the air against the opposition players.

Defence:
Granqvist, Godin, Buttner and Koscielny are to play the ball along the back four to tirer the opposition players out. Their all need to be big and strong in their tackles against the opposition. Both Buttner and Granqvist will also need to play one-two's with our DM/AM's and get the ball forward as well as playing one-two's with our wingers aswell. Godin and Koscielny need to be big and strong in the air against the opposition players and need to command the area and play the ball out of the box and forward as quick as possible.

Midfield tiro:
Sandro is to pick the ball up off the centre-backs or the full-backs and get it forward to our AM's he needs can also spread the ball out wide to our wingers. He also needs to be big and strong in his tackles and get the ball played away as quick as possible, but is is also to protect his defence from on coming attacks from the opposition. De Jong and de Bruyne are to pick the ball up from our full-backs or Sandro and break forward with pace. Both can play one-two's with each other or our wingers. Whilst one is passing or sliding the ball out wide or forward the other one needs to be getting into the box and helping our striker out. Both can also have a shot on goal if that's the best option.

Attacking tiro:
Cuenca and Muniain need to be getting the ball off our Full-backs, AM's or Sandro and breaking forward on the wings with pace. Both can play one-two's with our full-backs or AM's and both need to be getting low balls into the box for our striker and AM's to get on the end of. Also should both see Villa on the edge of the box the pair of them need to get on into the box to get on the end of balls coming into the box. Both lads however mustn't allow our full-back's to get exposed either. Villa needs to keep himself on-side at all times and be the last man on the opposition's defence. He needs to get the ball into his feet and needs to shot the ball on the goal when in the 18 yard box. Should he find himself outside the box he needs to slide the ball through to our on running AM's or Wingers.

Subs:
Maher on for de Jong (70 mins) - like for like
Jese on for Cuenca (75 mins) - like for like
Berbatov on for Villa (80 mins) - like for like

With Berbatov coming on the wingers can mix the the crosses from low to high balls into the box.
