Why weren't we interested in Michu?
--------------------------------------------------
Because you had Bentley.Jenas,Huddlestone,Modric.Etc,Etc.....
All midfield players, how many do you actually want.
Well we signed Dembele, Dempsey and Siggy when we could of got Michu
hindsight is a beautiful thing.
write the article again and insert any other side in europe in there apart from swansea.
Maybe a missed opportunity, maybe blessing in disguise, if his form drops next season, we'll be glad we didn't sign him.
Well 2.2 million for one brilliant season would be worth the transfer fee
he would have been a good signing but i can't remember anyone on here calling out for us to get him.
hindsight is a beautiful thing
wer not the scouts tho are we
yes but this is a pointless article. having a go at the club for not signing him lol.
its like saying why didn't we have our scouts in argentina when messi was coming through is a kid.. we would have had messi in our youth system.
swansea took the gamble and good luck to them.. he has been great for them.
yh fair enough about the messi point. he didn't write the article tho, was the bbc
Being offered Michu for 2.2 million when he was the highest scoring midfielder in Spanish football was stupid to turn down.
I hate seeing articles like this. Ok no one would anticipated how he'd have turned out in the PL, but the fact that he was La Liga's top midfield scorer and we could have signed him for £2.2M is the annoying thing
"write the article again and insert any other side in europe in there apart from swansea."
You're missing the point. If you read the whole article on the BBC you'll see that Gerry Armstrong said he specifically told Spurs about Michu, giving us an advantage over any other team in Europe (except apparently Swansea and Wigan, maybe because of their Spanish connections). Armstrong saw the potential there with his in depth knowledge of Spanish football, but Spurs for some reason weren't interested.
"its like saying why didn't we have our scouts in argentina when messi was coming through as a kid"
Wrong. It's actually like saying 'why did we turn down Messi when he was coming through as a kid after our scouts/contacts pointed him out to us?'.
we don't have any scouts though.
Bit of a pointless article really....
That's like saying why doesn't someone in the spurs hierarchy play football manager and realise that kompany, kaka, aguero, falcao, ramires and thiago silva amongst others were destined to be quality and sign them all when they were unknown for peanuts...
