TBF the full quote has now been published...

"Diving is not something we advocate. Our ethics are correct.

"He has been totally understanding on where I am coming from as manager of the club. What was said was wrong, he takes that and we move on."

OP updated and I retract my previous statement suggesting that BR was upset to Suarez admitting diving, not the actual diving itself.

In which case it is pretty standard comments that you would expect...
---------------------------------

Is it that cut and dried?

"What was said was wrong, he takes that and we move on."

Seems to be suggesting that Suarez shouldn't have talked about it. If BR was genuinely bothered about the diving, why not say that he shouldn't have dived? Instead of intimating that what Suarez said was wrong? Looks like a Freudian slip from BR has revealed his true thoughts.

Basically it's alright by BR to cheat as long as you don't own up......it goes from bad to worse.

---------------------------

that's how I read it... to you sir

-----------

Where did you read that? Suarez has publically stated he 'dived' and BR condemns it. Now, unless you have any proof that BR knew that Suarez dived before hand, you have nothing;.
---------------
You don't need to own up to diving to know when a player has dived or not. Just like you don't need a confession from a murderer to prove he murderered. I think BR is angry that he has admitted that he dived, especially since he's been vehemently defending him over his targetting in the press.

Is anyone from the press going to disagree with SAF saying that Suarez enjoys controversy? But knowing how deluded Liverpool fans are, they will try to spin it and blame the press.

Evra called Suarez's sister a south american w.h ore. He did 2 things wrong there, the insult and not knowing that Suarez doesn't have a sister. Also, only one of them 2 has ever said the real n word.

-------------------------------------

So what? Are insults on the pitch rare? Nope, they are pretty common. Once you start referencing skin colour though you are getting into dodgy grounds.

Black people often use the n word. It is there way of reclaiming the word. How do you think that Evra is being racist in that clip?

I've read the translation from Fox and his words are not as straight forward as has been stated. Read it for yourself.

------------------------

This is the real problem I think. BR has really stuck up for Suarez, then he turns around and admits to diving. Makes BR look a bit stupid. That and his lack of sideburns.

'Think' is the key word there.
----------------------------------------

Pretty sound reasoning though. It does make BR look a bit daft when he goes to such lengths to defend Suarez, then the player turns around and admits to cheating.

Obviously Luis was speaking in Spanish and has been misunderstood again.

OP - thanks for the update, makes more sense than sensational headlines from BBC

"Black people often use the n word. It is there way of reclaiming the word. How do you think that Evra is being racist in that clip?"

That word offends them so much yet it is now their word? Look at the dictionary definition:

Noun
offensive. A contemptuous term for a black or dark-skinned person.

The definition doesn't change depending on the colour of the person. Some serious double standards by you there id that's what you think
---------------------------------------

So are you claiming that black people don't use it when talking to their close friends?

It isn't a term that I would use in any setting, but black people do use it.

If you have a problem with double standards then you need to take it up with every black person that uses it, not me. I don't ever use it.

But please explain how Evra is using it in an offensive manner. You seem to have ducked that question.

He's clearly angry at someone, seeing as he's also swearing and his body language screams aggressiveness. But of course he was using the word in a friendly manner
--------------------------------------

Pleas tell me you are joking? He is putting on a stupid high pitched voice and an exaggerated strut, and you think he is being serious? He is obviously messing about. Are people really this stupid?
