Sorry lads & lass got caught up with stuff at work. Don;t worry if I'm too late

-------------------------Stekelenburg
------de Vrij-----------Martins-Indi----------Agger
---------------------------Nordtveit
--------------Clasie----------------------Eriksen
Narsingh----------------Djuricic----------------Fischer
--------------------------Sigthorsson

Subs: Zoet, Nuytinck, Hiljemark, van Ginkel, Schone, Vilhena, Boetius
Captain: Stekelenburg
Corners: Narsingh/Fischer
Free Kicks: Eriksen/Djuricic

From kick off we’ll have a ‘pressing’ 3-1-5-1 formation

Stekelenburg is a talented and experienced keeper.

The trio of de Vrij, Martins Indi and Agger are composed defenders who will look to play a low risk defensive game. they will find support from Nordtveit when required + will always have plenty of options when looking to distribute the ball. All 3 are strong in the air and all 3 are technically gifted with the ball at their feet.

Nordtveit will play as the defensive midfielder who is also comfortable at slipping into the back 4 if required.

--------de Vrij-------Nordtveit--------Martins Indi-----Agger

Nordtveit is a great tackler, and is also a great passer of the ball. He will keep the ball moving with neat passing, whilst not doing anything too extravagant.

Eriksen and Clasie are two passing and technical footballers.

When we are on the back foot so to speak Eriksen and Clasie will drop much deeper and so on – technically becoming a 3-3-3-1 formation.

Narsingh, Djuricic and Fischer have very little defensive worries in this match, they are purely here to batter opponents with relentless waves of tidy, pacy and creative attacking play.

Sigthorsson is not just an out and out centre forward. His ability to orchestrate and create chances for others not just himself, means that he will be encouraged to drop deeper, allow Djuricic at times to be the most forward of our players.

-------------------------- Boruc ----------------------
Clyne --------- Puyol -------- Albiol --------- Shaw
---------------------------------------------------------

Afellay -------------------------------- Grosskreutz
----------------------- Ramirez ----------------------
----------------------- Drogba -----------------------

Subs
Davis
Young
Forren
Schneiderlin
Puncheon
Rodriguez
Mandzukic

4-4-1-1 formation.

Puyol and Albiol both Spanish internationals. Puyol hugely experienced and as a pair they are a top class centre half pairing to orchestrate defence. Fullbacks are young but very fast, able to push forward and defend. They have licence to push forward to support attack when in possession adding pace and overlap options.

Lampard to play as deep lying playmaker linking play and picking out passes to Ramirez and the wide men, looking to break quickly. Kuzmanovic to sit deep and break up play. If Lampard goes forward, Kuzmanovic stays back and vice versa to protect the back four.

Afellay and Grosskreutz to provide width, take on fullbacks and provide crosses for Drogba. When not in possession, wide men to support fullbacks defending.

Ramirez to pull the strings in midfield. We will look to get the ball to him as often ad possible. If he is marked, look for wide men or long to Drogba.

Drogba to lead the line, pull defenders out of position and get on the end of crosses and through balls. Best Li.e striker in the business. Clinical finisher.

Subs

If winning, Lallana for Ramirez on 75 minutes to sit alongside Kuzmanovic. Lampard moves more advanced. Strengthens midfield with little loss in ability to counter attack fast.

If losing, Mandzukic for Grosskreutz 65 min, go 4-3-3 with Drogba central, supported by Mandzukic RWF and Afellay LWF. Kuzmanovic holding, Lampard and Ramirez ahead.

-------------------------Scwarzer--------------
Carvajal------N'Koulou---------Dante------Schmelzer
-------Kevin de Bruyne-----Ilkay Gundogan-----
Lamela-------------------Isco-------------J.Draxler
---------------------Mario Balotelli--------

Subs: Icardi, Ginter, De Sciglio, Marquinhos, Niang

Carvajal-Rampage down the right with his brilliant attacking quality, but track back to prevent runs. Must whip crosses in to the feet of attackers

Dante and N'Koulou-Must stay strong, win everything in the air, put body on the line, and be a rock in defence. N'Koulou comes up for corners

Shmelzer-Do what hes done at Dortmund, defend brilliantly, whilst also coming inside to join up with attack. Look to send in whipping balls into Balotelli, and attack viciously when Draxler comes inside to offer width

De Bruyne and Gundogan-De Bruyne more defensive, make himself a strong and physical presence, keeping the ball rolling and shooting from long range. Gundogan must link up the midfield to attack, and gives us that flair which can control a game. They must cover our FB if they advance too much

Erik Lamela-The young star should look to break into the opposition box using a wide range of skills, and use his brilliant feet to jiggle away from tackles. Must link up well with Isco to cause a devastating partnership. His stats for Roma this season shows how good he is, and is still only 20, and the front three behind Muriel is absolutely-fecking-devastating

Isco-The main player. He will be much better in the centre, and must look to get brilliant sly passes into the feet of Balotelli. He will look to run up and support Balotelli, but also use his fantastic vision to send in through Balls out wide. He has brilliant dribbling skills so will always escape attention of his man

Draxler-Must cut in at all times and use his frightening pace and power to cause the RB problems. Must come in to support Balotelli, and get his brilliant shots on target. Been crucial for Schalke, and must reproduce the form for us here in this game

Mario Balotelli-The man who has been doing brilliant this season, will play in the ST role. He will look to latch onto any ball, and use his magic to work the ball into an area where it will be the most dangerous. His brilliant runs will tire the opposition, and his finishing can be top class when given the opportunity.

Subs:

70mins if drawing/losing: Icardi > Draxler, 4-4-2 with Isco going LW

Aston Villa team and tactics:

--------------------------Buffon--------------------------

Van Rhijn----Nastasic----Vertonghen----Kolarov

-------------Iturraspe-----------Xavi---------------------

Tello---------------------Maher-------------------Costa

--------------------------Martinez--------------------------

Subs:
Britton, Rafinha, Cuenca, Saviola, Lens

Set Pieces:
Freekicks: Xavi
Corners: Xavi
Pens: Martinez
Captain: Vertonghen

Game plan:
We’re gonna keep it tight at the back and break on the counter-attack.

Jobs:

Buffon:
His job is to be big and strong when it comes to one on one’s with the opposition players. He is to be big and strong in the air and he needs to command his area at all times. Buffon is a brilliant shot stopper so we expect him to deal with shots coming towards him with ease.

Van Rhijn and Kolarov:
This week we’re gonna ask them to stay back and mustn’t cross the half-way line. Both need to be big and strong in their tackles and command our wingers to protect them from opposition attacks. Both need to play the ball forward from our own half to our wingers and send them on the break.

Nastasic and Vertonghen:
Both are to be big and strong in their tackles and in the air. Both need to command the players around them to help suffocate the opposition the chance of breaking into our box. Whilst Vertonghen will win everything in the air Nastasic will be there to clear any ball that comes down out of the box.

Iturraspe and Xavi:
Both are to protect the back four and stop the opposition from getting into the box. Both need to be big and strong in their tackles and whilst Iturraspe will be the defensive minded of the two Xavi will be used to go from box to box on the break.

Maher:
We’ll be using his pace on the break, he will play 1-2’s with Xavi coming down the middle. Maher will then play the ball out wide to either Tello or Costa. If Tello and Costa are blocked of Maher will need to get the ball through to Martinez to have a shot on goal. However, should that option not be available then Maher has the license to have a shot on goal. But when our wingers have the ball Maher can break into the box and give Martinez some support in the box.

Costa and Tello:
Both will pick the ball up from our full backs and will break with pace down the wings. Both will get crosses into the box for our striker, whether they high or low it doesn’t matter Martinez and Maher will easily find the net with whatever type. Both can cut in field if our striker is blocked off and have a shot on the goal. Both can swap wings if they want to and feel the need to.

Martinez:
He is to play on the shoulder of the oppositions centre backs. He needs to run into the box and make himself available for crosses coming into the box. Whenever in the box he needs to be big and strong in the air to head the ball into the net. However, if Maher is around him in the box we want him to knock the ball down for him.

Subs if losing/drawing:
Tello off Lens on (70 mins) – like for like
Maher off Saviola on (70 mins) – Saviola will join Martinez up front.

Team will look like this:
----------------------Buffon-------------------------------
VR-------Nastasic----------Vertonghen------Kolarov
----------Iturraspe------------Xavi------------------------
Lens------------------------------------------------Costa
---------------Martinez--------Saviola-----------------

If winning team stays as it is .

Week 8 - QPR v STOKE CITY

--------------------Mignolet

Crescenzi-----Varane-----Huth-----Alba

Isla--------------Ganso-------------McClean
------------------Muniane
-----------Jones----------Walters

Subs

Sorensen, Dunn, Wilkinson, Whelan, Delf, Kightly, N'Zonzi

Formation
Changing to a 4-3-1-2 formation for what will be a tricky game away at QPR. I want to give Muniain the chance to play a free role behind the strikers.

Keeper
When distributing the ball, he should look to short passes to defence or out to the wingers. He should only punt it if no options available. At crosses and set pieces, should look to catch rather than punch.

Defence
Crescenzi and Alba should look after their defensive duties first and foremost, but look to get forward when we are having periods of dominance. Huth will lead the line and Varane will keep close to Huth to reduce the gap through the middle. Varane will use his pace to keep Benteke out of the game and use his ability on the ball to always look for quick outlet to the wings.

Midfield
Ganso, Isla and Mc Clean will play slightly tighter together to allow Muniain a free role behind the strikers. Wingers should help out full backs when necessary, but have been instructed to press the opposition fullbacks to minimise their time on the ball. Ganso has the main responsibility of marshalling the midfield and track any of QPR's runners from midfield. McClean and Isla should attack QPR's full-backs and press them back. They should drop back when Crescenzi or Alba overlap.

Strikers
Walters and Jones will play right at the top and rough up Swansea's CB's which will allow Muniane and Ganso to exploit the gaps with forward runs. All three attacking players are instructed to shoot when in sight of goal.

Set Pieces
Corners - Isla and McClean take in swinging corners, the 2 CB's go into the box, Ganso and the full backs stay back to prevent counters, the CB's and Jones attack the ball, the other CMs and wingers take positions just outside the box to pick up any weak defensive headers or knockdowns.

Free Kicks - For direct FK's Muniain and Ganso will shoot depending on which foot it favours. For Indirect FKs, player nearest to position will take.

Penalties - Muniain is the designated taker.

Subs
Keeping this simple. Where possible, subs will be like for like. No subs before 70 mins unless a player is injured.

Azpil-----Alder-----Williams-----Filipe
----------Khedira----Moutinho
Susaeta----------Michu------------Bale
-------------------Auby

Subs; Tremmel, Rangel, Caulker, Strootman, Kehl, Townsend, Benteke

Keeper
When distributing the ball, he should keep it simple. At crosses and set pieces, should look to punch rather than attempt risky catches.

Full Backs
Azpil will be looking to play a defensive game, not venturing forward. Filipe will look to employ a more attacking game, as Bale will be drifting inside creating space to exploit.

Centre Backs
Alderweireld will compete for the aerial balls, with Williams looking to collect the 2nd ball, when the ball is on the floor, the onus is more on blocks than tackles. When Filipe is forward, Azpli tucks inside to create a back 3.

DMs
When they have the ball, both our CM's will look to play a pressing game on the opponents CMs, not giving them time on the ball and harassing them into errors. When on the ball Moutinho will keep the side ticking over, looking to recieve the ball in space and Khedira will just sit in front of the back 4 to help against counter attacks.

AM
Michu will be playing just off the striker, looking to make himself a bit of space and looking to make late runs into the box when crosses are put in.

Wingers
Susaeta will stay wide and look to drill in crosses for the other 3 attackers, Bale is given licence to roam and look to run at the defenders, looking to draw the RB inside to give space for Filipe.

Striker
He should look to hang onto the the shoulder of the last defender, looking to break any offside traps.

Subs
67 mins

Winning - Strootman for Michu - slots alongside Khedira

Drawing/Losing - Benteke for Michu - Auby goes LW, Bale behind Benteke

78 mins

Winning - Townsend and Benteke for Susaeta and Auby -go counter attacking.

Losing/Drawing Rangel for Azpil - attacking RB.

SUNDERLAND vs. qpr

Cup Tactics:

---------------------Amos----------------------
-Vermijl---Smalling----Keane---Robinson
--------------Daehli------Baker---------------
-------Grealish---Powell-----Jese-----------
--------------------Ramirez--------------------

Subs: Begovic, Subotic, Cole, Wilshere, Martinez, Petrucci, Keane

Tactical Brief:

General - Youngsters out again for the cup. Over half have been poached from United so the team will have a brilliant understanding already. Quick short passing by some technically astounding players should see a good game for us.

GK - Amos to use his height and shot stopping ability to ensure nothing goes by him from crosses or shots. Be quick in distributing, keep it on the ground.

FB - Vermijl and Robinson are incredibly fast FB's so they shouldn't worry about getting close to QPR's wingers because they'll have at least 2 chances to win the ball even if QPR's attackers beat them.

CB - To play the ball out at all times, not hoof it forward. These two are 'footballer's defenders', tricky players won't cause them too much trouble.

CM - Daehli and Baker are fairly attacking, but positionally are fairly astute, so defensively they will be able to do their bit. They come into their own when on the ball however, they can either play killer passes, keep the ball moving or run with it. Their attacking skill won't be hampered by their deeper lying position.

AM - Very right trio who can all interchange. The idea is that with the two CM's QPR's defence will come up against a whirlwind of attackers, the inability of defenders to mark one attacker in particular will mean players will always find space. Powell to be the focal point.

ST - Ramirez can drop deep adding even more options to that AM area, or use his pace and movement to drag the CB's all over the shop. Clinical finisher and really any chances he gets will be snapped up.

Subs -

Not going to tire out the big guns on this match, cup is not the priority. So even if we're losing we're not going to bring them on. W.Keane to come on at the 60th minute for Ramirez and offer much the same ability and role in the team.

Martinez and Reus to come on late on to make sure they're finely tuned for next week's league match where they'll be key.

QPR vs. Sunderland (Cup)

-----------------------Sandro-------Pogba--------------------
----------Herrmann-------Coutinho-------------Kagawa---
------------------------------Di Natale-------------------------

Subs: Ter Stegen, Ferdinand, Neustadter, Benat, Blascykowski, Lewandowski, El Sharawwy

This is a mixture of first teamers, and players looking to force their way into the team for todays match against a Sunderland side who we expect to play youngsters. We want to play free flowing, attacking (yet direct through forward passing and hard running at the defence) football relient on the efficienty of our movement. Each player knows his role inside out, with Jesus leading our defence by picking out the main CF, and Sandro operating as the anchor man which allows the full backs to break forwards and Pogba to operate as a box to box midfielder. Our front trio should be looking to pick out the balls into the box that mean our poacher Di Natale can score the goals. They will run hard at the defence, forcing them backwards, and create space for one another in their movement. Each player in this team has a point to prove, and will be keen to make an impression.

Captain: Di Natale
Set Pieces: Kagawa/Coutinho
Penalties: Di Natale

Subs:

If losing/drawing after 70 mins: El Sharawwy, Lewandowski, Blaszcykowski > Coutinho, Herrmann, Di Natale. Kagawa moves to AMC, all out attack with these dangerous strike players.

If winning after 70 mins: Ferdinand > Kirchhoff, Experience to shore up the defence.
If winning after 80 mins: Benat > Pogba, will allow us to keep the ball better, and will sit deeper.

Swansea vs. SUNDERLAND

---------------------Begovic----------------------

-------------Wilshere---Pirlo---------------------
-Walker------------Reus------------Rodriguez
----------------------Muller------------------------

Subs: Amos, Robinson, M.Keane, Sampre, Powell, Jese, S.Ramirez

Tactical Brief:

General - Our team is in good condition having had a game off during the cup. Swansea on the otherhand fielded their strongest team, so if they all play again they'll be exhausted. Get on the ball, keep it moving to tire them out even more.

GK - Begovic is to use his outstanding ability to organise defences to ensure this one stays firm against a tough Swansea attack.

FB - Smalling has been pushed over to RB where he is a good solid performer. Look to support Walker who will be detailed with stopping Bale. Robinson in for this game, shouldn't matter too much because the threat will come from the other side. Robinson will also use his blistering pace to attack Swansea who are likely to play a very attacking RB.

CB - Garcia has been drafted into defence JG will make sure any runs of Bale's that get through Walker and Smalling are mopped up early. Subotic to take control of the ST.

CM - Pirlo and Wilshere need to get on the ball as much as possible. They can keep the ball, meaning Swansea can't use their attacking talents to hurt us. Their clever movement and reading of the game will also keep Michu too busy to do anything dangerous.

Walker - Will play a deep RM role today. Stick close to Bale, Walker's pacey enough to keep tabs on the Welshman when Bale has the ball. Force him to go towards Smalling who can tackle him when he's at pace. Break on the counter if an outlet can be found.

AM - Reus, Muller and Rodriguez to act as a hurricane of attackers, switching and swapping all game to really give Swansea's defence a headache. Muller in particular will be key, his ability to find and create space for him and others can win us the game. Reus is also on fine form so he'll definitely take that into this game against a tiring defence.

Subs:

Subs are made up of our brilliant youngsters who will be absolutely buzzing having just beaten QPR. Jese will come on mid-second half as we switch to a more attacking line-up because Swansea will be exhausted by now.

Again, at the 60 minute mark, Robinson will come on for Vermijl. Robinson's quick, and as a true left footed player gives us more width to spread the pitch against a tired Swansea.

FK - Pirlo
PN - Pirlo
LC - Pirlo
RC - Rodriguez

---------------------Sandro-------Pogba------------------
---------Kuba--------------Kagawa----------El Sharawwy--
----------------------------Lewandowski-------------------

Subs: Vlachodiomos, Janmaat, Ferdinand, Digne, Benat, Neustadter, Di Natale

We are playing a Norwich side which is on the up, but we are unbeaten in the League and want to bounce back from our midweek cup defeat. We will be playing attacking, direct football which gets the opposistion on the back foot with our speed of movement, passing and fluid attacks. Jesus and N’Koulou are ball playing defenders and while they will primarily defend (Jesus picking up the main CF, N’Koulou extra runners into the box) they can help us get forward quickly, with Ter Stegen a more than apt goalkeeper there to instill confidence in our defence. Rafael and A Sandro are attacking FB’s who will get on the overlap one at a time, and seek to provide impoteous to our attacks whilst they will show their winger onto there weaker foot and stick tight to him in defence. Sandro is our Anchor Man and there to break up the play, shackling their main AM whilst Pogba is a box-to-box midfielder, capable of abetting in defence and attack. Our wingers are going to look to run hard and fast at there full backs, which are a weakness, and will be looking to whip the ball into, and play off of Lewandowski is a deadly finisher. The Pole will push their defensive line back with his sheer presence in size and pace, and will create space for himself and others with his movement – as Kagawa will do, as he is playing in his most comfortable ‘free’ trequarista role today. The front 4 will link up with one another and bring each other into play with their movement, speed and precision as we look to take the game to Norwich and dominate them from the off. This is a game we can, should and will win.

Subs:
If drawing/losing after 75 mins: Benat > Pogba, more direct passing threat.
If winning after 75 mins: Neustadter > Kagawa, extra man in midfield

(Tactics may seem brief but I've stricly stuck to the 300 word limit, thus limiting my ability to express weaknesses in their game)

Neither of their DM's are great defensively, so Bale will look to drift around them and looking to use his pace to get exploit this and run at the CBs.

Wingers
Susaeta will stay wide and look to drill in crosses for the other 3 attackers, Auby will drift inside and look to use his pace to get into space between the FB and CB, looking to draw the RB inside to give space for Filipe.

Striker
He will look to use his strength to bring others into play, or use his strength to compete with the CB's to either draw fouls or take shots himself.
